    Third question:

Hi MarcoPolo777, for the key, you can use a software called produkey.

Where can I find the product key windows 8.1 for my model of HP Pavilion p7-1451. HP came with windows 8 pre-installed and then I upgraded to windows 8.1 Microsoft free online.  I need the product key windows upgrade 8.1 to windows 10.

  • Pavilion x 2: Windows product key Validation after hardware change (new SSD)

I have a Pavilion laptop x 2 with a 64 GB SSD.  It came with Windows 8.1 but he now works Windows 10 - of course.  I decided to upgrade the 256 GB SSD.  I bought the appropriate module (a Sandisk).  I recently contacted Windows support to inquire about the procedure to validate the OS once I did the material exchange.  I wasn't sure how it would work since my x 2 Pavilion has incorporated into BIOS product key.  Microsoft told me that because I was going to do a hardware change I would need a new product key (in other words my laptop current product key would be 'blocked').  I was able to recover the product key of my Pavilion x 2 (OEM and installed keys - what is the difference?).

Does anyone have experience in this field?  Once I have replace the SSD and perform a clean install Windows 10, will be the key to product embedded BIOS validate operating system or it will reject?  Since I'm NOT buying a HP SSD (with preloaded operating system) and that my x 2 Pavilion is now long out of warranty?  I really have to pay over a hundred dollars for a new Windows operating system license?

Thanks in advance for any advice/help.

    Francis

Parameters indicate that I have a digital right so with a bit of luck when I change the SSD and install Windows 10, the machine must validate without a qualm.  I tried to see if I could link my Validation of my Microsoft account but I did not have this option on my settings (although in the past when I re-install Windows 10, link validation of my Microsoft account operating system so I guess it works.)  Also, I guess I have the anniversary edition from my machine updated automatically.

If all else fails, I'll see how it goes after the SSD upgrade and if I have to deal with Microsoft.  I also agree with you that change the SSD (essentially the ' drive') is NOT a significant change in equipment and shall not impose a new product key, but then, nothing surprises me more.

Your tips were helpful and I thank you.

  • Pavilion 500 - c60: product key

If I chose to load Windows 7 Home OS on the 8.1 that sits on the newly purchased Pavilion 500 - c60 will be I had problems? AND if I choose to RELOAD 8.1 on the computer in the future how do I get the product key if as you say his anchored in the bios?

Thanks for your replies. My reason for decommissioning is a requirement with my Autocad Architecture 2012 which does not work on windows 8.1. Stupid me! I should have looked into this before buying the computer. But I like the computer because it is a 64 bit with 8 GB of memory and I love the W8.1 too. Very compatible with my ph sound cell phone android. So until I can afford to upgrade my Autocad I'm stuck with Win7.

  • HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC: lack of MS Office product key

I did a factory restore on my laptop.  I did not record the product key of MS Office, because I thought that it was preinstalled.  I bought the computer in 2010 and can not find the original CD / manuals.  Is it possible that I can know is that the product key?

    Hello

The Microsoft Office installed on this laptop is the trial version, you can check this information from the link below. The full version of office must have been installed by the store, then you will need to get in touch with them as HP ships this unit with the evaluation version of Office.

  • Pavilion g7-1300: need to create a disk bootable - Microsoft will not provide even if I got the product key

My hard drive is dead and I have to reinstall Windows 7 Home Premium. I went to Microsofts website and download the software and put in my product key (the Pavilion came pre-loaded with no backup disc). Microft told me I had to contact the manufacturer for a copy.  How to solve this? Am I the owner of the software, and if so why can't I get a copy?

Bit the bullet and ordered a new hard drive and the system recovery disk through the retailer where I bought the machine. Now I also need a terabyte of disk backup and I need to use it often.

  • HP pavilion dv4 lost product key

I have hp pavilion dv4-2118tx inslalled with windows 7 Home premium original...
one day... I got in big trouble...
until I decided to install a retail windows 7... Unfortunately the product key from the back side was broken... I can't read it over, I call hp customer care asking for this problem of licency back on my windows, but they have no idea about my problem...
now... my laptop had a windows 7 ultimate installed, but not the original...

is there a solution to get microsoft windows 7 licency?

The only way I know to retrieve the product key is when the operating system is still working.  During the installation of a retail Windows 7, you must have the license key ready fpr where the BONE is the application.

If you do a USB thumbdrive media recovery or recovery disks, now would be a good time to use it.

Normally, when you use a recovery disk on the laptop, it was created, the Recovery Manager installs the product key for the operating system on its own.

If you do not have a recovery media then you choice will have to buy a HP recovery disk or a HP Partner or buy a DVD of Windows 7 installation with license key.

    HP Pavilion 15 Windows 8 e030eo-> 8.1 update process

HP support gave me the right explanation for this mess,
pointing to the direction of Microsoft heavily.
    It's the whole process:

The laptop unpacking and setting up.
Begin the installation of the updates of win8, 95 of them.
System starts to install, reboots and starts to undo the updates.
So I ran diagnostics from the BIOS, everything is OK
Restoration of the laptop to the factory via F11 settings
From updates again, only 5 at the time.
Many updates ended up with erros and MS-Its made were
loaded and run several times and restarts each time.
Finally, both even 20 updates were installed successfully.

With the help of Windows Store updated the system to Win 8.1.
But there is no way to enable that.

Support for HP asked me to restore the system by selecting
settings at the corner of right on the screen,
and selecting the update / restore-> restore (without
destroy the files users) sorry I use the Finnish language version
and do not know requires it English.
It took awhile, but finally the uo started system
    with windows 8.
Once again the disorder even with updates and through the win store to Win 8.1

This activation time managed automatically, and
    the system is running.

I noticed that during the update/restore treats windows
License number changed somehow to win 8.1 license.

It was a long and timely process, but according to HP support
It is the way in which Microsoft requires us to do.

    Hello

My Hp Pavilion laptop 2244sa g6 does not come with the product key for windows8. Is this normal? I can't see it anywhere, should I worry?

Some laptops, like my Envy 17-3002ea loan, have the certificate of authenticity Windows hidden in the compartment where the hard drive and the battery are.  First try.

Other portable latest and which may include yours, have the Windows license key encrypted in the BIOS.  There is a thread on the Microsoft communities that verifies that. The thread is worth reading.

I lost my product key for Windows 8.  I wanted to upgrade to 10 windows, but the internet does not work on it.  So I went to ubuntu 14.10.  I do not have ubuntu as much as Windows 8/7, because I think that Windows 8/7 is faster and easier to use.  The steam is really slow, if I want the game garry's mod, it will crash if I do certain things. :/

There are all kinds of bugs when I run things with ubuntu.  I want to save windows 8, and I want it to be quick like the old days.  Because garry mod is REALLY fun, and now it goes down for some reason any. :/
