HP PC p7-1154

I wonder if I get a new processor and motherboard for this pc if it will affect anything either. I have a new case already that he's not going in but I'm decided to rebuild the pc everything except the hard drive so that I do not buy windows 7 again. The applications will be HP pre-built in the affect of the computer the new components?

Sorry, but it does not work like that. The current installation of Windows is allowed to the motherboard the HP original OEM. It is in the terms stated by Microsoft to use the operating system with all motherboard except the same model as the original. In addition, a new motherboard will make the current "non-genuine" install Windows because it is preactivated using OEM motherboard BIOS.

Mike, after consultation with the other members, I think that double graphis is unavailable because it is not indicated in the specifications.

However, here is a Youtube video on the CPU.  If you do not find that you were able to use it by a change in the BIOS, please share this information with the forum.  Thank you!

  • Upgrade GPU for HP P-7 1154

Hi, sorry if this has been previously answered could not find anything on the forums, but I'm currently buy parts for the computer I bought this summer which is a HP p-7 1154. I was wondering if there is a maximum length regarding the cards, you can use on this system? I'm more so worried whether or not the cards that I'm currently looking will fall on the RAM slots or not.

Here are the specifications of your desktop HP Pavilion p7-1154. According to specifications, your computer has a slot PCIe x 16 graphics v2.x and a 300 Watt power supply. In a little less than 8 inches long, all these cards should fit into your system without problem. They won't fall on the memory locations, but you may need to remove the map to add new DIMM modules. You will also need the slot PCIe x 1 next to the graphics slot empty.

However, to power these new cards, you will need improved supply. It seems that the cards you want to recommend a 500 watt power supply system. I would recommend Corsair CX500, or CX600, as both of these power units are consistantly recommended and known to fit most HP consumer.

  • Memory p7-1154. Am I wrong?

I want to verify that I have read the web page correctly. I have a p7-1154 that is 64-bit systems.  So this means that my computer can hold 16 GB of memory. Fix?   I now have 6 GB and try to understand the right parts to buy to update my computer.  Any advice?

I refer to page web http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02995511

    Xavierbonnereau,

    OK, your system has an operating system of Windows 7 64-bit and can support up to 16 GB of RAM as follows;

    Dual channel memory architecture
    Four DIMM DDR3 240-pin connectors
    Supports DIMM DDR3 modules
    PC3-10600 (1333 MHz)
    PC3-12800 (1600 MHz)
    PC3 14400 (1866 MHz)
    Memory non - ECC, unbuffered
Supports 1 GB, 2 GB, or 4 GB DIMMS
Supports up to 4 GB on 32-bit systems
Supports up to 16 GB on 64 - bit systems

To install all the 16 GB will require the replacement of the current memory. It is strongly recommended to install 4 identical DIMMS in slots for the best configuration with the least problems. Please see Crucial.com for "compatible upgrades guarantee" for your computer, or you can buy memory components of it like Newegg.com, BestBuy, Fry or many other local retailers. Please note it will take two 8 GB upgrade kits to get your computer back to 16 GB.

  • difference in speed of upgrade memory P7-1154

    Hey there.

I am running the original 1333 MHz, 6 GB of RAM that came with this computer.  I am maxing out the RAM, in speed and size, this Christmas.  Yet, I am running in a quandry.  Information for my PC from the HP site says that my p7-1154 can take 1333 and 1600 1866 MHz for the RAM, but the 1866 MHz are listed as PC3 14400, although the real to 1866 x 8 multiplier is 15000, more or less... with only 1800 MHz multiplying to 14400.  I have two questions.  First of all, PC3 15000, 1866 MHz RAM will work in this machine, or is it mandatory to use only PC3 14400, 1866 MHz RAM?  Secondly, is it possible to ensure that any new 1866 MHz RAM I buy will run to 1866 MHz (I've met at least one person here who has my computer model even and new, faster than 1333 MHz RAM no were limited in speed to 1333 MHz)?

    Thanks for any response.

    -crys

Yes, to 1866 MHz, exact transfer rate is 14933⅓ or 14900.  Yes, 1866 MHz (PC3-14900) will work in your motherboad and no, it is not required that you install only memory PC3-14400 (1800 MHz). Although your motherboard and processor supports 1866 MHz memory your BIOS may limit the memory speed at default speed SPD 1333 MHz. OEM manufacturers like HP are not easy to use BIOS, I mean that you have will limit BIOS that does not allow the user to manually set the settings like overclocking the memory or CPU etc. So it's really a gamble. The memory will work but will run at low speed rather than the nominal amount of 1866 MHz. So, try either go with 1600 MHz or 1333 MHz. The speed difference is not noticeable that so stick to the speed lower is the best option IMO.

Good luck with the upgrade. Send us an update, how it will be if you go with memory 1866 MHz. Cheers, mate!

  • Pavilion p7-1154: upgrading the graphics card

    Hello

I want to buy the graphics card NVIDIA 9800GT for graphic design. But before I buy it I would like to know it it is possible to be used on the PC console.

I guess I have to upgrade the power supply and maybe the motherboard also.

Please let me know in what concerns the 9800GT what PS and motherboard that I should purchase, if any, that would be adapted to the console. I have Pavilion p7-1154.

    Thank you and best regards

Illustrator has requirements listed here.   The card mother's only Legacy BIOS, so I would stay with WIN 7, get an EVGA GTX 660 or 670.  It was the last of the EVGA legacy known cards.  The GTX 670 will draw 170W, then I would say once again a Corsair CX600. IT has perfect fit and is better than the recommended 500W unit inactive.

  • Black wire in the case p7-1154.

Probably a very simple solution out there.

recently upgraded the video card and power supply in my p7-1154. Updates work correctly. But while fixing the cables, I hit a single thread that connects the back of the computer to the motherboard to the front of the case. Not sure where it is supposed to connect to the motherboard or even what he does.

No known functional issues with the computer itself right now. Just need to know where this thread should go.

    Hello

The single black wire looks like an antenna wire.  See the image below.

If your PC is equipped with a NETWORK card wireless mini card, the wire must be attached to the card in the slot location.

    Hello

Your configuration above doesn't seem to be HP "stock".

The answer to your question is Yes.  You can redirect "MY" folders type for a second hard drive with your own special storage folders. This post is a typical example of how to move 'MY' Windows folder.  That's how I separate "MY" folders of data storage (my videos, my music, my documents, my pictures, my downloads).  I also put the Contacts folder and Favorites on the data reader.

  • Questions of dual monitor HP P7-1154

OK, I work for a company selling electronic retail and sell a lot of the p7-1154 HP model but recently Ive had 5 customer feedback/questions. First of all, the graphics card had only 2 dvi out of ports, and they were the two DVI - D. The problem with this is that all DVI adapters we are for DVI - I, for any customer wishing to run their old monitor is screwed. We've had several complaints about it, but it's not even the worst of it.

The great trial lies in the fact that for some reason when take us up to monitors, weather via DVI or HDMI/DVI adapters, it may run fine for a few seconds. But once you restart (or sometimes when you plug it in the first place) it uses a 600 resolution mode by default and allows for no adjustment to 768, 900 or 1080. Only, it remains default 600 and looks terribly deformed. We had the same problem on 4-6 untis, and we used different cables and run 3 different monitors at each, no change in performance.

We tried to uninstall and reinstall drivers on all units, as well as execution of updates from scratch, but nothing solves this problem-solving. Help, please

  • P7 1154 Desktop

I currently 1154 p7 equipped APU of 3600 A6 Office. The apu was clocked at 2.1 GHZ and 2.4 GHZ turbo stock. My win7 experience index showed side 6.9 for cpu. I installed AMD OVERDRIVE and oc the cpu at 4.0 GHZ and 4.7 GHZ turbo which was the oc maximum allowed by the software. On the stock cooler that oc'ed cpu is idle 33 c and 55 c load and now my win7 experience index shows 7.1 as cpu score. I do not use the IGP in the apu, since I was an external. My question is, if this cpu multiplier is not locked? Why is it if I change the multiplier I get more performance? I really want the A8 3870 k for this pc, but I still need to confirm if my pc support. I saw messages saying it does.

    Hello

The CPU supported by HP is indicated on the page of the HP product, which means that you can install one of the listed and they sohuld work. About the K processor, we do not recommend it because it might not work on your system because of BIOS support. Basically, if you install this CPU, you will have an error at startup, saying that the CPU is not supported.

If you upgrade it will be at your own risk, as this CPU is not supported.

    Thank you

  • Upgrade of the necessary recommendations for HP Pavilion p7-1154.

    Current configuration:

    HP Pavilion p7-1154

    Windows 7 64 bit

    No internal upgrade done yet.

Currently, my system seems to have followed the problems while displaying games with medium graphic settings. It is not enough to upset the gameplay, but often when heavy movement will on the parts of the screen that display this movement will be stutter a little bit in some games. I would also like to record gameplay here and there, so it's probably important to mention.

I'm looking to upgrade the processor maximum allowed on the upgrade worksheet, but I am worried about the PSU. I know that the sheet indicates that the motherboard supports the processor, but will I need to replace my power as well? Are there other aspects that I should take into account? If so, could you give me some recommendations of specific system upgrade? Thanks in advance!

I edited the answer to update the card that I bought it. Same Radeon HD 6750, but I had pulled the full card with GDDR5 and other name, and the actual card that I had was DDR3. This change was not made during the 3 days.
