HP Photosmart 1115: hp photosmart 1115

Color cartridge is replaced with the new cartridge (bought today) authentic hp HP78XL. Get the following error: "the color cartridge is missing. "follow the cartridge completely in.  I noticed on the cartridge itself, the number is 23 (hp c1823d). The box says that it is HP78XL (c6578a). Could it be causing my problem? Worked fine until I replaced the cartridge.

I understand that after buying a new HP ink cartridge (C6578D) HABs 78XL and installing it on your HP printer Photosmart 1115 you get an error message "color cartridge missing". Thanks for the detail, even in your post regarding the part number HP 23 (C1823D) on the new cartridge you installed. I did research into that to see if there was any way that ink HP 23 would be compatible with your HP Photosmart camera and there is no. They are two completely different cartridges. It is very strange that the incorrect cartridge was in the box for your correct HP 78XL cartridge!

Please have the convenient cartridge as a technical support agent will need to collect information out of the cartridge. There is also a warranty date on the cartridge that the agent will have to. Even if the printers are out of warranty, cartridges have a guarantee of their own and are covered with support.

    Your printer is the Photosmart P1115 if so, what I found is that it is not supported and there is no additional driver option. I used the following document to find this information, you might be interested to take a look: HP printers - Windows 10 compatible printers.

  • Printing software/Old Photosmart 1115

    I have an old Photosmart 1115.  I want to connect it to my new computer (Windows 7).  What do I need?  In addition, the printer (it or my HP camera at the time) came with printing software that allows me to print a wide variety of sizes (and a variety of sizes on a sheet of paper).  I was not able to find a new program like him.  Do you know if there is?  There are even pages with label sizes, more he had album pages, along with all of the choices like 1 5 x 7, with 2 3x5s and 8 or 9 index everything on a single sheet for example.  Thank you.

    Regarding the printing software, I don't know about albums and size labels, but Microsoft Picture Manager will allow you to print different sizes on one sheet.   You can right click on a file photo on your PC, then select open with--> Microsoft Office Picture Manager.

    Once the software opens, you can choose File--> Print, and a new screen opens.  If you look to the right of the photo, there are options for picture formats and #/ photos per sheet.

    In addition, hp has a download of free software to manipulate photos.  I'll be honest, I have not used it enough to be too familiar with it, but it has some neat features.  You can read more about it here: http://www.hp.com/global/us/en/consumer/digital_photography/free/software/photo-creations.html

  • OSX 10.8.5 unable to print colors with HP photosmart 1115

    I used to be able to print in color with this laptop computer/computer combo, but after upgrading to OS 10.8.5, there is no option for color printing.  Help, please!

    Photosmart 1115 is not officially supported on Mac OS X since version 10.5.

    Try using some 3rd party HPIJS print drivers, those who are compatible with 10.8 and list the Photosmart 1115, sustained.

  • Photosmart 1115 on a home network

    I've recently set up a home network with a host running XP and another computer running Vista.  My Photosmart 1115 printer is connected to the XP machine and is shared.  When I try to connect the Vista computer to 1115 printer, I get an error of the pilot saying that the "the server for the HP Photosmart 1115 doesn't have the printer driver installed.

    So I go to the HP website and there is no driver available for Vista 1115.  So I check out some of the forums.  There are workaround posted this use other pilots, but they apply only to local printers.

    How to use one of the workarounds when I connect to a network printer?

    On the Vista machine follow these steps: Navigate to the Printers folder, add a printer, local printer Port, Create \\xpmachine\printername (use the actual share of names for the xp computer and printer share names), then in the list of printers click Windows Update, and then select the set of Deskjet 970 in the list.

  • HP Photosmart 1115 drivers

    Although the Windows 7 compatibility database lists the 1115 as compatible, which apparently only means the material will be recognized and placed on the device as a «device not specified» control panel    The device "not specified" still requires a driver to be recognized by Win 7 as a printer, allowing you to use effectively as such.

    The latest driver for the 1115 (found in the HP support & drivers section) is '3511_enu_w2k_xp_release' and was published in 2003.   However, when running, the installation of the pilot program will block and expire at the point you will be asked to connect your printer (USB) so he can find it.   As far as I know, if Setup does not find your printer at this time, it will be, at the exit, automatically delete files that it installed.  And so the existing driver does not work as is.

    However, there are a few general suggestions from Microsoft support.  Their first proposal, to run the installer in XP compatibility mode does not work.   The installation program always crashes when he's looking for the USB connection.   The second suggestion, to locate and manually associate the .inf, (essentially the raw driver) file, looks enticing, but I could not try because I have no idea where the installer puts this critical file since it loads multiple files in different directories.  In addition, the installation program uninstalls many files when it fails to connect, so I'm not even sure that the .inf file would be available.   Worse, I was unable to find the name of the .inf itself because it is not information HP paper.   Being an experienced user, I'd like to try the second suggestion to Microsoft, but the details needed to do are absent in the world.

    I'd be open to any suggestion of workaround.   I need only basic print functions, and buy a new printer is out of the question.

    There is a vagueness in the instructions given in the link you gave, which can cause some confusion.   The difference is maybe simply due to the fact that the instructions were describing a Vista instead of Windows 7 installation.    The first part of the instructions in the "Installing and configuring a replacement driver in Windows Vista" are more or less the same for Windows 7.   The only thing I might add is that no matter if the USB cable is still connected when you first assign the printer to the LPT1: port via the "Add a printer" Wizard panel "devices and printers".    With or without the cable connected, the list of pilots eventually will appear, allowing you to associate the "unspecified" device of your printer to one of the default drivers.

    The problem is at this point, the printer is now in limbo and still does not print, since the port USB is not the LPT1 port.

    The critical step is to designate the LPT1 as the USB port or port "DOT4.    The Vista instructions are incorrect for Windows 7, however.    If you follow the instructions of Vista, right click on the printer icon in the "Devices and printers" Control Panel and selecting 'Properties' option would only lead to a general hardware information panel.    In Windows 7, you must instead, after right click on the printer icon, select "printer properties".  This new properties option is located in the Middle of the drop-down list for a long time, rather than at the end where sits the "Properties" option

    The "Printer properties" option leads you to a panel with 8 tabs, 'Security', 'Device settings', 'Services', 'General', 'Sharing', 'Advanced', 'Color management' and 'Ports '.   The "Ports" tab in this Panel offers a long list of checkboxes, with LPT1: already checked by default.   Check-marking the DOT4 port will pass the parameter by default inaccurate LPT1: to the right port, in my case the port USB or DOT4.

    HP do not provide a driver windows 7 for my printer and can offer advice except get another printer.  I don't want to create more discharge, my printer works perfectly.  It's not good for the environment.  someone at - he found a way around it please.

    Please see this forum below link (detachment). I used this method for my HP Photosmart 1115 for which there is no Windows 7 drivers either and my 1115 works very well except for the card reader (which I don't care). All print functions work perfectly.

    I used a parallel cable rather than the USB cable. Just follow the instructions if you use a USB cable to connect your printer to your computer.

    I have a Photosmart 1115 old printer which works well.

    There is no Win 7 drivers for this printer, but a Photosmart 7200 driver works.

    How can I download a driver for the 7200?

    The wizard will not pick up because I do not have a connected 7200.

    The driver for Deskjet 970 is a good match for the Photosmart 1115.  You can add this driver or driver Photosmart 7200 via Windows Update as follows: click Start, devices and printers, add a printer to the local path (select LPT1: for now), then, and then click Windows Update in the lower right of the window to add printer.  It will take a few minutes for the Update window, after the Photosmart 7200 series won't be an election under the manufacturer HP (Hewlett-Packard).  Select this option.  Once you have finished the installation then go to change settings on the port, as described in this document.

    Do not use the XP disc.  The Deskjet 970cse is fine.  To step 2 If the printer Deskjet 970c does not, click on "Windows Update" in the lower right.  It may take a few minutes for the list updated, after the Deskjet 970cse and 970cxi will display.

    I had try HP they don't site any upgrade in the Sierra. I get my scanner to work.

    I do not have this as a new printer/scanner each time new software upgrade of the Mac computer.

    Can you explain if this happens with all pages or only PDF files open with Firefox 29,0? If it's from PDF files, I have been informed that this a bug that will be fixed by an update published Friday morning time Pacific.

    A new firmware to restore the ePrint feature are available on hp.com, however it is currently available for MS Windows :

    I don't know if / when it wil become available for Mac OS, that's why I suggest you get a Windows PC and update of the printer, if you can have such an or can borrow a laptop to a member, family, etc.
