  My HP Photosmart C4150 all-in-One printer/scanner/copier will SCANNER is no longer.  I uninstalled the printer in the hope of re - install and fix the problem, but now I can't re-install.  He tells me I'm the operating system (Windows Vista - 64 bit OS) is not compatible.
  I remember that I kept getting error messages when Microsoft Updates running on my computer and I followed some "fix" for the error to go away in a few months.  I think I should have done something to mess up my driver?
  I'm not computer savvy so I hope someone out there can help me get my printer, re-installed and the scan option to work again.
  It seems to me have tried every download from the HP Web site, and nothing seems to help!

  1 did you change your computer, after which the issue started?
  2. are you connected to a domain?
  3. have you downloaded the correct driver version?

  I would recommend that you download the correct driver (Vista 64-bit) from this link and check if that helps.

He installed the router - my printer goes through the motions as if it will print even if nothing prints. I tried to locate the my HP Photosmart C3140 all in one on my computer is not listed. My old printer that I use to have installed HP Photosmart C3100 series Advanced Document list my computer. There are at least 5 items listed in printing (QC) how can I get my C3140 reinstalled? It's so frustrating. I really want to hire a geek to fix. With instructions step by step I hope that you can provide, I am confident, I can do it myself. Sorry for TMI (too much info)

  When I run printing HP and Scan Doctor 4.4, it found errors of Solution Center & Twain & tells me I need an update to fix the errors, but it sends me to the same place from where I have already downloaded the software updated!
  Windows7 does not recognize the newly installed software & more like another package: "HPPhotosmartEssentials.msi", which he says he can't find.

  Instruction was also found on the HP Web site: "Locate & install the .msi file is missing file in the Temp of your computer folder", but there is no msi file in the Temp folder (download goes to the downloads folder).

  Please response ASAP - I cannot USE MY PHOTOSMART2575 MORE scanning DOCUMENTS and have lost DAYS on this - making circles in the round...

  Sorry to say your advice has not solved my problem - but received a phone call the week last of Henry of HP at Gateshead (n. of England) support.

  After 4 hours or more (he missed his lunch...!) firmly on the phone and computer being "picked up" remote, it has removed HP all THE files on my computer (HP Mini) and then reloaded OLD original software for 2575 with updates,... Finally got all-in-one scan with the HP Mini success - so big thanks to Henry at Gateshead for his help there... :-)

  On my 'old' computer (ca. 1974) the print mechanism duplex worked fine, but after that I installed the printer on my 'new' PC (Windows 7, 64-bit), the double-sided printing feature works not at all (although it allows me to print on both sides manually).  In order to operate as it did in the past, should I uninstall everything related to the printer before reloading the software?  Or do I have to reload the software at all?  Or what should I do?  I would like to know before taking any action, because I don't want to create problems for me or my computer/printer.

  The duplexer must be set to "installed" as described in The Vista/Windows 7 Duplex Printing Guide troubleshooting here.  You will not need to uninstall and reinstall the driver.

  My problem is that I need a piece of the printer.  I like the printer, but the large gear that drives the ink pump is made of plastic and is worn.  I know the printer inside and outside so I could fix this printer if I could find a part.  I learned that the printers are not repairable.  However, HP must conclude a contract with a MFG Company somewhere to put together them.  How can I identify a number of reference and/or a company to order parts?  Without that part (gear), the printer is useless.

  Have you unplugged the printer, then uninstalled any software via programs & features, and then in the devices & Printers HP remove any HP printer. Then run the cleaning disk & rebooted.

  After that you visit the site of HP and download/install the full features software appropriate to the C5380 and win bit version and only connect the printer when the installation says?

  I understand that the printer is stuck on 8 copies and you want to manipulate parameters. Please see page 73 (76/142) of the product manual to modify and adjust the settings. Please let me know the results. Thank you!

• Can not stop "auto crop" documents, scan on my HP Photosmart C7280 all-in-one

  I use a HP Photosmart C7280 all-in-one to scan documents.   My OS is Windows 7 64 bit.   I have used this configuration since January 2012 and my problem has just started in the last 30 days.  I did not any changes to the system except for the automatic updates of Windows coming out.

  I unchecked the box "automatically Crop scanned Documents" in the Advanced Document settings, but as soon as I scanned a page, the checkbox appears in the box again (in itself!) and it will automatically crop a bad document.

  No idea why this is happening and what I can do about it?

  Not really sure what caused it, but looks like the setting has glitched somewhere along the way and will be set when past.  Try unintalling to reinstall a new download.  Let me know what happens.

  I can finally AirPrint. When you sent the message on the router, it reminded me to update the firmware. I've updated to the latest firmware of the router, reset the printer and my iPhone, and it finally showed up.
