  • Upgrade of RAM Acer Aspire 1830 t

    Greetings,

I'm running into a problem to upgrade the RAM on my Aspire 1830 t-3425.  There currently 2x2G of PC3-8500 ram in it, but I found the information that says that it will take up to PC3-10600 ram 2x4G.  (http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=Aspire%201830T%20TimelineX&Cat=RAM is my source)

I tried two different sets (from two different manufacturers, Corsair and Patriot) and they both met the same problem.  Once installed, I can reboot the system and look in the bios to confirm that the system sees the RAM, it does.  However, when the system continues to boot in Windows 7, the start screen displays for only a few seconds before the system restarts.  Running MemTest +, I can see that the system analyzes only the first 4 GB of ram, until the system restarts.

I have two questions at this stage.

    (1) is there something I'm missing in what concerns the type of ram that will support this laptop?  I can't find the hard specs on what requirements should memory be for this laptop.

    (2) at - it something wired or set in the bios that prevents the system to accept more than 4 GB of ram?

Thanks in advance for any answers.

    Kzorith

    Hello again!

As I said before, I never knew Crucial to be wrong, but I have a feeling that they might well be this time!

Everything indicates that 4 GB is the maximum:

Your PC not recognizing 4 GB

    Own SpecSheet from Acer

The discussion of other users of 1830 t confirming it on Amazon

If the maximum of your motherboard is 4 GB, it is not possible to upgrade more far away...

Query: I bought 2 x 4 GB RAM DDR3 1333 MHz 204-pin SODIMM Unbuffered of CCL Computers Ltd. After searching for the correct specifications on here to upgrade my RAM.

I installed this new RAM carefully and booted up my laptop, only to be greeted by a blank screen / black.  I have re-installed the new RAM and rebooted my laptop, leading to the same result.

I contacted CCL Computers Ltd, who recommended that I return the RAM to them for testing. However, they also mentioned that I should contact the constructor (HP) and ask them - your "QVL" (list of qualified suppliers) for successfully piloted ~ known RAM.

So, with the above in mind, can you recommend a tested / experienced 4 GB of RAM running on my laptop, please?

Already mentioned somewhere on one of these forum pages for "Corsair DDR3 4 GB of RAM of the laptop (CMSO4GX3M1A1600C11)"

I'm also upgrading my laptop to SSD HARD drive.  I visited your forum pages and read that an SSD with a capacity of 250 GB is the optimum size.  Can anyone offer any known SSD fact / correctly upgraded for a laptop of my setup, please?   (See the top of this message to my HP ProBook specifications.)

Looked at your comments and recommendations will be highly appreciated.

Thanks a lot waiting for your answer.

Here is my card in my machine.

    Model name: Mac Pro

    Model identifier: MacPro1, 1

Name of the processor: Dual-Core Intel Xeon

    Processor speed: of 2.66 GHz

    Number of processors: 2

    Total number of Cores: 4

L2 cache (per CPU): 4 MB

    Memory: 8 GB

    Bus speed: 1.33 GHz

It is found on all projects, I'm still under snow leopard, I have a NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT graphics card, and yes the playhead stops after a second reading of a video in the source and program window.

After hours of research and troubleshooting, I managed to solve the problem by signing on the standard user and account logging in as an administrator. Somewhere in the standard user account prevents play video.

I'll recreate a different standard user account and see if that fixes the problem.

  • Some problems with the upgrade of RAM on Lenovo ThinkPad T500?

    Hello

My laptop is Lenovo ThinkPad T500 and its main features as follows:

    -Processor Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 (2.53 GHz, 1066 MHz, 6MBL2).

    - 4 GB PC3 - 8500 DDR3 SDRAM 1067 MHz SODIMM Memory (2 DIMM).

-ATI Mobility Radeon 3650 with 256 MB.

I really need to upgrade the RAM to work with SharePoint 2010 and Windows Server 2008 R2. and my big question is:

    * How many memory locations that I have in my Lenovo ThinkPad T500?

I read on (http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-55644#t) that the maximum memory size for T500 is 8 GB.

Yes, in case if my Lenovo ThinkPad T500 laptop has only two memory slots, so, I'll have to buy 2 memory cards of ThinkPad 4 GB PC3-8500 DDR3 Low-halogen SO-DIMM, in order to get the 8 GB... and I have to throw my current memory cards...

    My other question is:

    * Is easy to install/remove RAM in Lenovo ThinkPad T500?

Sorry to ask the second question, but I have never dealt with before material.

    I would appreciate your inputs.

Thank you for your consideration of my request and I look forward to hearing from you soon!

The T500 has only two slots of RAM, so the upgrade to 8 GB would mean that your two existing 2 GB modules would need to be removed.

Replacement of the RAM is simple; Remove the four screws for the Palm and the locations of memory will be under the palm rest.

See the HMM for more detailed instructions: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-70068.html

  • Satellite L30 - frequent BSoD after upgrade of RAM.

This problem is almost identical to [this post | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=144540𣒜], but given that the response was too general and did not help, I want to provide more details about my problem and hope for a better answer.

My L35 (i.e. American L30) came with Vista Home Basic and only 512M of RAM. It was slow, but smooth otherwise. The problems started after I upgraded the RAM to 2 GB occasionally a BSoD will appear, and the computer restarts after a second or two.
Most of the time, instances of BSoD are not taken at random; usually, it happens when you watch a film or multimedia and online during the wake her up after suspend.
Also, it happens much more frequently if an external monitor is attached. He does, connect an external monitor and watch a movie will result in BSoD with 100% certainty. My laptop has shared video memory, maybe it's a question here.

The problem prevailed after that I installed Windows 7.
Memtest86 + showed no problems with my memory
Memtest86 covers all aspects of the use of the RAM?

Is it possible that some problems may be overlooked by memtest86?
Are there other tests of memory, that I could use, specifically to test the shared video memory?

Not every hardware problem can be detected software.
You have tested the RAM with Memtest86 +? Try using Memtest86 (no +).

In the worst case, you must replace the RAM. Ask the dealer for a new computer. I m sure they will help you.

  • HP ENVY laptop - 15-k277ca: upgrade memory RAM - HP ENVY 15 Notebook

    Hi all!

Last weekend, I upgraded the RAM in my laptop HP ENVY laptop - 15-k277ca.

The machine has 1 module of 8 GB by factory, so I bought another module of 8 GB (same brand and same rate).

But the problem is that the machine does not recognize this second module, neither in the BIOS nor so

    I am running Windows company 10 x 64.

The weird part is that I downloaded the CPU-Z, and this software recognizes the two modules.

    Any idea?

Here is the image of the CPU - Z software (where memories are recognized)

See tensions? You've mixed low-voltage and voltage regular memory. They can be the same machine and the speed, but they are not the same tension. This will cause problems as you see. The computer is designed to work the DDR3L memory (1.35 volts). When you correspond to the modules, you really need to match modules. Can you confirm part numbers printed on both modules and the specifications on the labels?

  • Upgrade of RAM for Satellite Pro 3400

    Hello

I own a laptop Satellite Pro 3410, it has pentium celeron 600, 64 MB of ram and 13 '' dstn display. I want to upgrade my ram, somewhere, I read that it can be improved with 256 MB, so that there then 320Mo. My question is now, what I have to use 2 pieces of 128 MB of ram or can I use 1 piece of 256 MB of ram. The point is a friend gave me a 256MB ram for PC laptop (pc-100) toshiba, I put it and it seems to work (win2k showed me the 320Mo compleet), but can it be problems, using this a big RAM?

    I hope you can help

    Katja

    Hello

I think you mean a Satellite Pro 4310?

Normally it only uses the modules of memory up to 128 MB. But if your laptop is running with this 256 MB module, there should be no problem.

    Good bye

  • Satellite Pro A300 - will be lost the warranty if I upgrade the RAM?

    Hey guys,.

I wanted to know if I purchase and install my own module SO-DIMM RAM in my laptop, it will void my warranty?
If so, how can I spend my memory?

    I agree with Akuma.
You will not void the warranty if you upgrade the RAM.
I've also updated my RAM and I t has not had any problems with my warranty.

Moreover, the best RAM for upgrade is the RAM even if you as before. I mean the manufacturing and specification. So you can ensure that the new RAM will work.

  • Satellite C660 - 21 c - problems with modules of RAM

    Hello

I was considering upgrading my RAM for my C660 - 21 c from 4 GB to 8 GB. So I decided to leave my 4 GB of ram in the ram slot to see the name & type of latter. Once I did, I inserted it, however, now, when I press the power button, the laptop turns on for about 5 seconds then turns off.

I checked the stick of ram in both slots and it s certainly equipped properly. Is could someone please tell me what is the problem? I got a stick of ram dead for some reason any or if I've done a few other serious effects for the machine, i.e. static destroying the ram or the whole machine?

Could someone help troubleshoot the please my problem?

    Thank you

    Chris

Have you unplugged the AC adapter / CC and removed the battery before you start playing with the memory modules?

  • Satellite P10 804 will not accept the upgrade of RAM

Apologies, this is it is a bit long and also if this question has been covered elsewhere here: I had a good nose autour and have not found something that seems to help.

In any case, I had a Satellite P10 804 during these past years, I bought in the United Kingdom.

Quite early in my time with this laptop, I upgraded the RAM. It was 3 or 4 years ago, when memory was not as cheap right now, so I bought just a single 1 GB module. P10-804 will take up to 2 GB of RAM.

The P10 804 came with 512 GB as standard in two modules. My upgrade means I got 1.25 GB, which was in very good health. Everything was fine until the end of last year when the defective laptop; I followed the fault in module 1 GB of RAM. It was a bit awkward since I now live in New Zealand. However, the provider of the RAM was very professional, stood by their warranty, and we arranged a swap. RAM prices had fallen, so I bought another module of 1 GB at the same time upgrade the laptop completely.

Now the problems really started. The laptop would not simply work with the new installed RAM modules. It would work with one alone, nor even less with my old configuration of a module of 1 GB and 256 GB module. Start and run for five minutes before a freeze; white screen with fans roar; blue screen; frozen screen normal with strange objects; No start at all. everything.

Everything that works now is my original 256 MB module (his partner disappeared). This leads me to assume that I don't have some sort of hardware failure?

1 GB modules are DDR333 SODIMM, CL2.5. This laptop will also have the DDR266 modules, and it has been suggested to me, lower speed might work. I can try this option since the RAM prices are * really * low now, especially if I get confirmation of this as a valid strategy possible.

The laptop BIOS is updated to v2.00 (maybe?), and I also upgraded the HDD to a 120 GB unit (this works very well and is partitioned for XP and Linux). And from time to time I empty the fan.

Any advice welcome. Thanks for reading.

    > The laptop would not simply work with the new installed RAM modules. It would work with one alone, nor even less with my old configuration of a module of 1 GB and 256 GB module. Reading your message, I came to the conclusion that this issue must be linked to the new RAM module and this module is malfunctioning or is not fully compatible with your laptop.

The P10 can be upgraded to 2 GB, so you should be able to use two single RAM 1 GB modules

So it must be a module problem

  • Upgrade of RAM for a Satellite A100-847

I want to upgrade the RAM for my A100-847 of my current 512 MB by adding another module for 512 MB, but I face a problem of compatibility because looking at the manual only compatible modules is as follows:
    256 MB: PA3389U - 1 M 25
    512 MB: PA3412U - 1 M 51
    1 GB: PA3411U-1M1G
I tried to look for a module with these codes, but I have found none in Romania. I could find a module of another manufacturer with the same specifications, but I don't know if these would work properly.
    So I need some advice.

    Thank you

    Bobby

    Hello

the manufacturer that you saw? Will they have the same characteristics, then they should go up. The best decision would be to take some kingston or the essential modules. They have been tested to work well with toshibas, just so consider buy some kingstons with the specifications of the original toshiba modules and have fun with them.

In the case of some other question just ask.
