• Laptop HP Probook 4540 s: problem with upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10

  I tried to get 10 Windows on my 4540 s Probook and it downloads very well.  Then, it checks the software on the computer and find a program that is not compatible and says that I have to uninstall it will continue.  I uninstall it but want to be sure I'm noy going to cause more problems in doing this.  The program he doesn't like is the tools of HP software, it includes scanning biometric and other.  It would be prudent to uninstall these or should I wait to see if there is a work around for this problem.

  I posted this earlier the main forums of HP. I got a response suggesting that redirect the issue in the case. I got this laptop at Newegg last Christmas when my other broken; I don't use the laptop for business, more education (college) and general use, including browsing the web and media (like watching movies). I'm not sure either why there are two separate forum sites for the same company, rather than an individual section for business customers in the general network (and why, as I just discovered, the company website has Smileys!), but that's. (Won't to sock a gift horse in the teeth.)

  Anywho, I have problems to install the software HP Mediasmart DVD on my ProBook. I downloaded several "softpaqs" with DVD software and made the 'trick' to extract the installer with WinRAR or 7-zip and running setup.exe. Install starts OK but quit unexpectedly with an error: "this software can be installed in the authorized machine." But on the download page for each of the installers I have had HP Web site, it is no list of models "authorized."

  I tried to download the version of Windows 7 and even the older ones who were supposed to work for Vista. Other programs mediasmart work very well, I can't get the installation DVD. Is there a way to 'fool' or 'patch' the installer into believing that my laptop is "authorized", whatever that means? It makes no sense that I would not be able to use a HP DVD program because the computer does not have a hard drive (which, I believe, still plays Blue Ray). MediaSmart didn't come with the computer; I copied the SWSETUP folder from an older HP laptop computer to it and ran the installer. MediaSmart SmartMenu works, as do the MediaSmart Music video MediaSmart, MediaSmart Photo and MediaSmart TV & movies. Yet for some reason any MediaSmart DVD everything continues to be stubborn. What can I do to get this install?

  Recently, HP SoftPaq Download Manager on my 4540 s ProBook HP auto updated and installed HP early assessment program Download Manager. I'm fine with the AutoUpdate updates, but there is a problem.

  The SDM and the early HP rating program (FUP) are the exact same application. One that is installed depends on passing a switch command line for the installation program (Setup.exe): no switch = SDM, switches = EEP. That is why we find it confusing that SDM updated and installed the EEP.

  You can go to run as SDM EEP, but rather to explain all the manual settings that need to be made, we recommend the following:

  • Uninstall the SDM/EEP.
  • Delete all the files and subdirectories in this directory: C:\ProgramData\HP SoftPaq Download Manager.
  • Download the latest version of SDM from here: http://www.hp.com/go/sdm . Please note, that the 3.4.11.0 version.
  • Run the executable.

  To answer your question, MDS continues to not require credentials but EEP made (for security reasons) but they are assigned to the customer at the time that the program starts.

  I have experienced some weird behavior of my EliteBook 8540w twice in the day: during labour, the whole of windows (not only) crashed suddenly without any previous error message, the machine, stop completely and instantly, like someone would have turned off a light bulb.   Better, however, is to use the Softpaq Download Manager (www.hp.com/go/sdm) to install all the updates available and required for your systems. Just a word of warning only select and update h/w driver and BIOS (must be made independently of the other updates) with SDM, a great tool that does not do the WRONG thing

  Thank you for your concern about the driver packs. Actually, there is an absolute obligation of divisions of HP business PC for full support of Microsoft and Landesk management solutions. The table of pack driver to http://ftp.hp.com/pub/caps-softpaq/cmit/HP_Driverpack_Matrix_x86.html is the wrong link, and now the team knows about it and should be fixed soon. Just a mistake of a part of the website linking systems

  Insofar as the driver pack sp64674 it is indeed good for products that include the ProBooks (like the G1 650) of last generation 2013. It would be an impossible task to try to create a driver package unique for each business model of desktop, notebook and workstation with all tests associated with it. Driver pack hosts product families and includes the families of components similart all rolled into one. Did you try and use the driver packs and found that there problems? Please, let us know if this can be fixed. The file you listed is updated as more go through the tests and process issues that's why you don't see specific models listed yet. It should, however, work with Haswell-based Proboks

  I had my HP Probook s 4530. It reinstalled and formatted by mistake. Now, I couldn't see the HP and HP tools recovery partitions while windows, connect. But when I try to reinstall Win 7 with a bootable DVD, it shows the mentioned hidden partitions. I tried to press fn + F11 buttons in the boot process, but nothing happened.

  Question is: How can I restore to the factory using the HP Recovery and HP partitions tools setting?
