HP ProBook 6455 Notebook 14 "b: no operational function computer, other than blinking yellow, light load.

HP ProBook 6455 b 14 "laptop, windows 7 Pro (32-bit or 64 - bit?) certified refurbished.  The only operational fuction is flashing yellow light load.  There is no indication of another function of operational computer (no video, sound or anything else).  The bright yellow of load is a light flashes when the power cable is connected.  No activity when it is not connected.   Discovered that there was a recall on the LS-15 worded power cable?  However, does not apply the power cable provided with purchase of the laptop.  HP Pro Book bought on 18/08/2015 and currently still guaranteed manufacturers less than a year (HP).  But impossible to determine a repair services provider who is authorized to manage the guarantee of manufacturers (HP).  The question above malfunction only occurred once since the purchase of the laptop and does not work since the accident.  Please advise on the problem, if known and how the process of repairs handled with HP warranty.

Remove the battery and then plug the power adapter.

Press the power button.

The laptop starts at the Windows login now?

If so, the flashing led you had with the battery connected, indicates that the battery does not and must be replaced.

If it is not the case, the adapter sector or systemboard has failed. and you should contact HP to service warranty from the manufacturers.

  • ProBook 6455 b: Probook 6455 b LCD replacement / upgrade?

    14 "probook 6455 b

    Windows 7 Pro 64-bit SP1

    Phenom II 620

    8 GB memory DDR3, 120 GB Samsung EVO 840

Very good running - no current errors

I recently bought my wife an refurbished 14 "Probook 6455 b.  She began to process RAW image files and necessary additional processing power on a much slower netbook that has served us well for the last few years.  I added some updates to the probook (8 Gb of RAM and an older SSD) and thought it was perfect, until my wife tries to display his photos on the matte screen of 1366 x 768.  Office equipment became one of my passions over the past 15 years and I am very comfortable with it.  Laptops however do not know as well as my experience of office has made learning much easier.

I started looking for a brilliant replacement and came across a website that list shiny and Matt in 1366 x 768 and 1600 x 900.  I went and downloaded the manual for the 6455 b online and of course, it lists a 1600 x 900 available screen.  The LCD site cautions, however, to get a different resolution that your model came with.  I know the 4250 HD would have no problem with this resolution, but as I did the research more distance there was other stuff that is up - correct display cables, correct pinout, etc..  As best as I can see, there is only one cable for screens of 14 '' HD or HD +.  Everything looks like a go, but am I missing something?  I tell myself that if I open the thing to install a new glossy LCD screen, why not upgrade to a higher resolution, one at the same time?

Thanks for any info that can help me make the right decision.

The manual is not easy to decipher:

    Manual

Better I would say you are right. 6455 b was offered with a range of 1600 x 900 in option and there is only one view cable so you have to work on either 1366 x 768 or 1600 x 900 Panel.

To be sure, HP offers the whole kit and the shebang as a replaceable part, but if you are like me you are looking to get the best possible deal on a Panel.

  • HP ProBook 6455 b upgrade? (GPU, RAM, etc.).

I have a laptop HP ProBook 6455 b and had a few questions about the upgrade. I was wondering what I could upgrade the graphics card Radeon HD 4250? I play WoW, FFXIV A Kingdom Reborn, etc. wanted to know what would make them better work and not too expensive. I normally play on fire soft and want / need to play high or ultra, just run a little better. Or what other updates, I could do for this RAM or CPU. Also, I was wondering what was the 2nd option batery? On power options, it indicates battery #1 and #2 of battery but #2 has nothing; so this thing can contain two batteries? Thanks to anyone who can help me.

I looked there and there is only a Board for AMD, the Radeon HD 4250 models. You don't even ask how much it would cost to switch to an Intel motherboard. With the Council and the processor and work, you could buy a new gaming laptop.

  • How to adjust the brightness on my HP ProBook 6455 b under XP?

I have a new HP Probook 6455 b - XP running.  Display default brightness is 100% - which is far too high.  I tried FN + F8 and FX + F9 to set the brightness, but nothing happens.

I can upgrade to Vista so that could solve my problem, but prefer XP.  I can't use the pc for a long time (I get a headache because of the brightness) so any help is greatly apprciated.

    Hello MikBren,

Windows XP does not give you an option to set the brightness of the screen. You need to upgrade to Windows Vista if you want to adjust her reduce the brightness. If you're ready, I suggest that you update to Windows Vista. You can also upgrade to Windows 7, but for this, you will need to purchase a full version and install it.

Read this article which will give you information on this:

    Hello

Thanks for posting this question in the Microsoft Community Forums.

I see you want to know if you can install programs on a drive with no operating system.

I wish to inform you that this is possible with only specific programs, which give the user an option to choose where the program is installed.

When a program is installed, it runs in program files, which lies in the operating system drive and can not be moved elsewhere.

Microsoft does not support changing the location of the program files

  • Will there be repercussions to Program Files on one partition other than the operating system of the installation?

Will there be repercussions to Program Files on one partition other than the operating system of the installation?  Most if not all the software packages allow to customize the installation.  I had an experience with OFFICE 2013 and this allowed me to install on a separate partition.  After installation, I checked the menu START was 2013 OFFICE & I was able to launch PwrPt without complications.

My motivation for doing this is that I have several versions of LabView which occupies the huge disk space.  So if I can separate the backup image of my OS program files is greatly reduced in size.  This allows me to record several images of my OS by dates without needlessly chewing my external hard drive.

Anyone know this & if yes are there complications or questions?

    Appreciate any feedback

I understand that your wireless network has stopped working and you are unable to perform a test of material on this subject that the BIOS does not recognize.  If the guarantee is not a problem, you can try reseating the wireless module.  If after reinstalling the wireless card, it is still not recognized, I assume that the card has failed.  Here is a link to HP ENVY 17 Maintenance and Service Guide. Please note Chapter 4, page 48, module WLAN for removal and replacement procedures and reference numbers.  If you need to get a replacement here is a link to the: HP parts store.  You can also try a search on the web with the part number to locate a.

  • ProBook: Why this company offers a software to 'fix' HP capslock blink codes?

  • Pavilion Notebook 15-ab243cl: transfer from old computer to new computer programs

We just bought a new HP Pavilion Notebook, with 10 windows, to replace its old HP Pavilion dv4-2153, which has been upgraded to Windows 10.  Now we have a problem - how to move programs and files to the new.

I found two products on the market that claim to be able to do this, but critics of both of them include some less then incounaging stories.  I hope that HP has developed some good software to do this, especially between their own products, or at least can recommend a reliable software.  They must be proud when a customer likes their products well enough to replace genre by genre.

    Any help here?

    Thank you

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your message want to migrate applications from one PC to another and wanted to help.

Sorry to disappoint you, but HP doesn't no matter what app migration software (that I know).

However, LapLink does – in its range of PC Mover of products.  The one who moves in the apps is the Pro version.

I know it works because I used it myself.

The new version, Win10, has an additional feature that you can migrate applications from an Image file.

Which means, you can make a backup of the complete picture of your old PC (and to do this, I recommend Macrium Reflect - further) a key USB or external hard drive, which will allow the new PC, install PC Mover there - and restore apps directly from the backup image.

Macrium reflect (MR) provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or drives together.

What I recommend is the following:
    (1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
    (2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB key

You have NOW a backup of the image of the old PC - and all of the information required by PC Mover to migrate applications to the new PC.

    Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.
