Pavilion P6-2302: Connect firewire to Pavilion P6-2302

I want to use Windows MovieMaker, import video from my Canon MiniDV camcorder tapes.

Like a beginner at all this, and after hours of confusing research online, please someone can answer these questions:

1. I understand that I need to transfer via firewire. Do I need to install something more on my PC (HP Pavilion P6-2302)? If this is not the case, where I connect the firewire cable to the computer?

2. my tray CD/DVD says it's a DVD Multirecorder.  Does this mean that I can burn a DVD of MovieMaker?

I'll be very grateful for any advice. Thank you.

Your PC does not have the necessary equipment for this reason and given the slost and ports from the motherboard available, there are two possibilities, PCI-E FireWire adapter FireWire USB or PCI Express x 1 card.

PCI Express x 1, PCI E, Firewire 1394 has with IEEE 1394

    Hello

As far as I know that this laptop doesn't support firewire port.
If you want to connect to an external device which supports a firewire interface, then you must use USB firewire adapter or cable like this

  • Equium M50 - how to connect firewire devices?

    Equium M50 Intel Celeron M 360 1.4 GHz processor

Referring to the above, I am able to download photos from my camera to my hard drive, but to download videos that I need to connect a firewire camcorder to the computer. There is no connector on the computer to take in this regard.

Is there a solution to this?

    Hello

I put t know if your camera has a firewire port, but if yes it is listed in the Device Manager as IEEE 1394 bus host controller.

If your device doesn't have a firewire port, you can buy the PCMCIA card with firewire port. By the way: M50 has 4 USB ports (two in the back near LAN port and two near the DVD drive on the right). On models with firewire ports it is definitively placed near S-video output port as Michael described.

  • Love at first sight for adapter Firewire under El Capital

    Hi there music pros

Read a post saying that under El Capitan, you can no longer connect firewire devices, (such as Motu 828 Mk3 (firewire)) for new iMacs and El Capitan, using the Thunderbolt adapter Firewire apple, ' cos El Capitan does "not support firewire. This info seems inaccurate for me because the adapter must "adapt", but you never know.
I intend to use my Motu 828 mk3 X consistently, work with the new iMac 5K, which is on the way, through the apple Thunderbolt to Firewire adapter cable.
Can someone let me know if it is allowed to use the adapter or not?
    Thanks in advance
    Concerning

I can't speak for the Motu. But I use the latest version of el capitan with a Presonus interface adapter and it works perfectly.

Bolt of lightning to FireWire 400. I believe, but have to look - lightning to 800 adapter - cable then 800 to 400.

  • Why the thre 2 network connections

    original title: two wireless connections?

Im running XP and I click on network connections, it says wireless network connection, and 1394 connection. Someone can tell me what this means and why there are 2 connections?

    Thanks in advance

A connection 1394, also known as a FireWire connection, is a type of network connection that can be made via a cable between two computers that have FireWire ports.  It can also be used to connect FireWire compatible devices. It isn't wireless, but it is displayed in the network connections Control Panel because it is an available network connection.

  • Compatibility issue: need help disabling features - URGENT!

I have a problem with running Pro Tools 8.0.4 THE on my HP Pavilion dv7, which meets a DAE-6006 error when loading Pro Tools. Research indicates that this error is for connecting firewire somehow, and I'm able to use Pro Tools on this system with a different interface (there as only two mic inputs) that allows me to connect via USB.

Also, when I run ProTools via USB, it seems that I can't use the Quick Punch feature without a minimum of 10 seconds (usually much more) a delayed response after pressing the button reading or recording!

I've been emailing latest Pro Tools support back and forth daily for 10 days now, and in the email, they said:

"This could be a problem of incompatibility. HP Pavilion dv7 laptop computer has not been tested by our test team headquarters United States
    and not officially supported.

As you have found by yourself, each before PC manufacturing installs their own features and (TV tuner) and the program in
Operating system Windows, the motherboard and BIOS. They work differently for Pro Tools and sometimes conflict. This is why we cannot support these PCs, we have not tested.

Please turn off all extra functions by HP from the BIOS. Please ask HP support how to. »

Therefore, I request assistance with disabling all unnecessary services and process on my HP laptop. I guess the TV tuner is not a necessary service, but I have no idea on most of the others, and of course, I don't want to disable something that is necessary.

If you could help me ASAP I would really, appreciate that I need to move to the record of any emergency! Thank you.

    UPDATE:

I have also been informed by support for Pro Tools if I add a FireWire card with chip Texas Instrument FireWire supported on my computer, it can solve the problem. When I asked how to do this, they responded:

"If your PC has Express Card slot,

  • Starts the Powerbook g3 pismo of the external drive?

    Hello, all,.

I want to start my Powerbook G3 (Pismo) running OS 9.2.2 since the restore in one disc external hard drive. (PB knows he has a drive hard internal , but the drive does not read discs in there.) The computer goes up the disc - its own restore disk - when it comes starts with Macintosh HD as a player start, but when I try to use the restore disc as commissioning, starts to drive to go up, but the door opens. Even if I hold the door closed, the computer starts low to halfway and glued in place: first, the question mark flashing, then commissioning with Macintosh HD but then freeze it.

This happens even if I chose as the startup disk restore disk in the startup configuration panel. This means that I can't even begin to use disk utility to clean the hard drive of the computer. I did that with two other computers (reset several times), but those who had internal functioning disks. Is it possible that I can do this computer using the external drive as the boot? I read that the G3 Pismo that allows. I know I can get someone to take out the hard disk and smash, but I expect much prefer to destroy it myself. And I can understand how to remove the hard drive, but it seems to imply a boatload of maneuvers and some tools that I have, at the present time. I would not completely destroy the computer. It would be good for recyclers to be able to retrieve some parts, though they might be useful to someone.

It is possible that I can't boot from the restore disc in the external drive, but maybe there's something that I have not yet tried. It seems crazy that the external hard drive with the restore disc appears on the desktop with a normal restart, and I can choose as boot drive but can't seem to complete commissioning. If anyone has any ideas on this subject, I would appreciate it a lot.

    Thank you.

    Jenny

Are you trying to boot the PowerBook to an external optical drive that is connected to a USB port or your external drive connectivity FireWire?  If it is USB, that is the problem.  The reading of an optical drive connected by USB is one thing, but start since it is a different matter.  Unfortunately, your Pismo is not capable of this.

  • Can I access my library of Photos of a NAS (QNAP) safely?

I have 650 GB of photos stored on my iMac which is clearly take too much space and slow down my machine (I also have a libraryMy great iTunes I)

My pictures are saved on iCloud photo library.

I just bought a NAS of QNAP TS251 and would like to move my library of photos to the NAS. My questions are:

    1. Simply by moving the photo library will work? The drive QNAP NAS should be formatted in a special way (HFS +)? I have to open a sparse image/sparsebundle on the NAS to move the photo library to?
    2. The synchronization of the iCloud library will still work?

    Thank you!

1 - iCloud is not a backup - you need a local backup

2 - photo library can be on a drive as Mac OS extended (journaled) is connected via a fast wired connection FireWire, Thunderbolt or USB, and which is not used as a unit of backup Time Machine - so far, I have not seen a NAS that responds to this

  • Migration options?

Looking for input on migration. Moving from a 2008 Macbook Pro on Snow Leopard (10.6.8) to a 2015 on El Capitan (10.11.2). Will connect firewire 400 of old computer through a firewire 400/800 adapter to firewire/thunderbolt adapter on new computer. (Don't have good WIFI access.) Don't even know for sure what software will work but want to at least try what I have before I buy updates. Wondering if software (MS & Adobe) would migrate more successfully directly from the old computer or through Time Machine backup. Would like to avoid the re-authentication process if possible. (I figure my user files should be OK either way.) Thanks in advance for any thoughts on this.

I guess you use migration assistant. If the 2008 computer works well, and then transfer that would be nice. But you can do research on all of the programs that you want to transfer, as without updating them, they may not work in the new operating system.  In the migration wizard, you can at one point, pick and choose what to transfer. Images, music and movies would not be a problem.
