HP ENVY 17 Notebook PC: Stop the operations of wi - fi

Hello

my laptop is no longer able to recognise the wireless function. Only the Ethernet card works now.

It has worked perfectly for over a year, and then turn on the black screen with HP logo has been exposed continuously for several minutes (for example ten) without running animation. I had no chance outside of commissioning and turn it back on. Upon restart, the wireless function has been lost.

I checked the diagnosis of the BIOS on reboot, but the wireless test does not start because there is no adapter.

Is there someone who can answer me this correction?

Thank you very much

I understand that your wireless network has stopped working and you are unable to perform a test of material on this subject that the BIOS does not recognize.  If the guarantee is not a problem, you can try reseating the wireless module.  If after reinstalling the wireless card, it is still not recognized, I assume that the card has failed.  Here is a link to HP ENVY 17 Maintenance and Service Guide. Please note Chapter 4, page 48, module WLAN for removal and replacement procedures and reference numbers.  If you need to get a replacement here is a link to the: HP parts store.  You can also try a search on the web with the part number to locate a.

  • QuickTime is saying "stopped the operation" when you try to share on Youtube. Why? And how to fix it!

My computer told me that my boot drive was full and I had to make room before recording my video, so I went to 'share' on youtube so that I wouldn't lose for good (cannot be recreated - for a class), and in the middle of download he stopped and said "the operation stopped. Now, I can't click on anything or do anything! I'm terrified that I'm going to lose.

Stop trying to 'share on Youtube' & find a better way to back up your data.

Your task will be to keep fault for this reason... QuickTime allows you to convert your movie in another format from Youtube, it takes disk space - you already have too little disk space, if the operation fails. If you keep trying you can simply make the disk is too full for that it starts properly!

A better solution is to find a USB hard drive or even a flash drive & save the files on that so you can delete files on your disk to free up space. Running with no free space will cause many weird questions.

There are a lot of apps that allows you to copy your entire drive - ask if nee help you with that. Creating a bootable backup is the best way to avoid data loss. Relying on Youtube to keep important files is a very bad idea - they often files down if violations of copyright are found etc.

    Hi @Gary46 ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion Notebook dv6-3180ea and issues with updates. I would simply ignore the update. It happens from time to time that the update will not go through your system is already updated and it's why it fails.

Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant, if you need it. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers who might need to update on your system.

It shows me it seems to be interference with the task of software, usually your virus protection.

You may need to disable this software, and then run Windows Update.

I hope this fixes things for you.

  • Envy 15 Notebook PC: Remove the battery

    Hello

I Envy 15 laptop and I'm having a hard time finding how to remove the battery. I sometimes develop the machine freezes and I need a way to power down without waiting for the battery to run out. I remove the back of the box of the computer very well, but it seems no way to remove the battery. One site (a review of the urge) says that there is a special tool to use but did not describe the tool or how it might be used. Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance,

    Ben

The battery is not removable on the Envy 15 series because they are bolted to the floor on the controller.

To perform a hard reset, turn off the power, unplug the power adapter, and then hold down the power and buttons of beats for 8 to 10 seconds.

  • Notepad KB - cant it be removed without affecting the operating system

    original title: Notepad KB?

I have 2 drives on my netbook.   Drive C maintains by becoming short space, drive D seems unaffected.   It seems that windows updates can be the cause of drive C to become clogged by placing the notebook in the windows folder, these notebooks are labeled with KB numbers are complete gibberish to me.    I can't remove programs out of drive C because it is the operating system.

If I can remove these notebooks without affecting the operating system, there seems to be a lot of bytes and kilobytes being exhausted with these notebooks.

If they have a .log file extension, you can remove them. The small amount of bytes and kilobytes don't take up that much space.

  • HP ENVY 17 Notebook: HP support Assistant constantly reported as 'Stopped working' in the reliability report

System recovered 5 days ago and reinstalled personal software. (HP 17 t-k000 CTO/Win 64 bit 8.1Pro)

Almost immediately HP Support Assistant would communicate with HP Server. The program has been downloaded and reinstalled more than a dozen times during the 5 days... .rebooting every time between installs / deletion. Download from different places in the website of HP... but always version 7.7.34.34A. HP cat could not help... like that, the program worked for a few minutes, even though I showed the tech "reliability report". (it's a play on words!)

After recovery was over and I used S.A. to update the operating system. The first time I used the program offered to me by 14 updates (so I guess that the program was "not" long before I got the operating system)... the program has shown the updates have been downloaded, but each time the update failed to install (X) next to the icon of installation. Restart the program again and selecting 'Check the HP updates now'... after displaying little pictorial showing ets connection/download... Returns a message... "No updates available". AND a new error is reported to the report reliability with the date and time. Now, in the last day or so IE11 has stopped responding... see below... Even typing this proved difficult because the page no longer!

Today, the Web page for this laptop shows there are 2 BIOS update F34A (May 22, 2015) and F.09 Rev.A (16 April 2015), but as there is no update available via S.A. I haven't installed these either... my latest information installed BIOS is F.34, 19/12/2014!

Battery/power cycling has solved nothing... "sfc/scannow" shows no error in operating system,.

    All suggestions accepted

    Thank you

    @Stu2009

Thank you for all the useful information. However, there is something that you're not quite right about. It is true that normally the default account created on a system, is normally an administrator account. However as a safety device which is part of the User Account Control (UAC), he essentially keeps running as a common user, then on an administrator account.

You can turn off UAC (I would not recommend that), or you can find the executable file of your programs, right click and compatibility mean that it runs as an administrator by default.

Most of the time that you actually benefit from privileges program not raise unnecessary, however. Only a handful of things really really need to access that provides the "Run as Administrator".

With regards to the BIOS, I would recommend that you try only a BIOS update if you are running in regular broadcasts normally. A wrong BIOS update can become a "brick" that requires a replacement of the Board of Directors, so for me it's one of those things you do only as a last resort, or if it's part of a fix recommended a functional system.

As these updates from CyberLink you can always try to install it manually if you need, since the support page for your system. And let me know if they still appear in HPSA, after a manual installation.

    Hello

Recovery media, I am referring to disks (or flash drive) that you create yourself using the Recovery Media Creator application on your laptop - you can create it once, so I would definitely recommend to do.  A guide on the creation of this support can be found on the following link.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-envy-X2-11/5296226/model/5336701/document/c03481733

This support will reinstall the operating system, all the drivers, all the original software (including applications on the start menu). They will also recreate all the original scores.  A guide on the main ways to perform a factory reset using a recovery or support of the partition recovery (including a video preview) can be found on the link below.

  • HP Envy T Notebook PC: Intel HP x 64 graphics card "stopped".

I have a HP Envy TS15 Notebook PC with Intel HD Graphics graphics card 4000 and have had problems of graphics, since I bought it - applications such as Netflix and Hulu and virtually no games that it either - is carried out on it, all reports drivers graphic must be updated. Finally, it occurred to me to check the properties of the device for the driver, and he says "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) »

I suspect that is why graphics are so flaky. How can I get a fix for this card?

    Hello @amwilson ,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that the graphics card is an error Code 43 Device Manager. I'll do my best to help you! In general, this error indicates that certain functions of the device doesn't have, which means it could be a hardware problem.

To resolve this problem, follow all the steps in this document to Microsoft: Code 43: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems

If these steps do not work, I would contact HP support by phone using equipment. You can use this Web site for information about how to contact HP properly, based on your region: Contact HP worldwide

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you for bringing This problem on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

Yes, that's the correct stuff. The Kingston can operate at 1.35 or 1.5 volt. Before the upgrade, although I advise you, you remove the RAM that is in it and watch it. Is - this 4 black memory per side or 8? Match what you have.

    archivedmemorie

Based on your response, I did a new search for the drivers of your PC, based this time on the product number that you provided, instead of the template information in your thread title and found very different results!

Here is the link for the drivers and software page: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-ENVY-TouchSmart-17-j100-Notebook-PC-series/5425742/model/7415743

The Intel driver you mentioned matches on the page - so I have no idea why you get this error message.

Have you tried to download and install the Nvidia driver?

Given that your PC is so recent, I suggest you contact the HP customer directly and have them put you in contact HP Technical Support.  If all goes well, they can solve the driver problem, you meet with.

  • If I kill Winlogon.exe in an attempt to restart or stop a device could cause corupted becaome the operating system

I was told that if I had to kill the Winlogon.exe in an attempt to restart or stop a device could cause the operating system to become corupted.

    I'm uaing a feature of windows 2000.

    Hello

    1. How did you kill? via the Task Manager?
    2. do you use the Windows 2000 operating system?

The process "winlogon.exe" runs in the background. Winlogon is a part of the Windows login subsystem and is necessary for the user authorization and activation of Windows controls.

Murder winlogon.exe can make your computer unable to open a session, but I doubt it would have damaged the operating system. It is necessary that you let Microsoft Programs and services run without interruption for the proper functioning of your computer.

Note: The winlogon.exe file is located in the folder C:\Windows\System32. In other cases, winlogon.exe is a virus, spyware, Trojan or worm.

Then run the second menu item, and it is the one that did the trick for me.
