  I own Satellite M30X (model) after I left the laptop on while awhile, the computer went on standby to fashion. When I turned it on, the screen does not work, everything else is ok. The PC connects to citrix 4 virtual machines, 3 of which are works well and 1 which will allow me only to screen all screens, it's like the alt key does not work on this.   I am trying to configure wake on LAN on laptop ProBook 640 G1, but it does not work
  
  I configured the BIOS settings and also tried different magic packet WOL tools with no luck. I have already updated the BIOS to the latest available version. Also I tried various BIOS settings, but it simply doesn't.
  
  I read the various messages with some advice (as configuration options of Windows drivers, also put my laptop in standby mode, the standby modes available with the POWERCFG command verification) but still I can't make it work.
  
  I tested my network using a utility to check if my phone is received the magic packet and network is fine.
  
  I already work with Wake On LAN function in another HP laptop and it works fine. The problem is with this new model (I have 2 new laptops and it does not work in any of them).

  I solved my problem.

  The origin of the problem is the way in which Windows 8 turns off your computer.

  If I run the "shutdown-s" command to CMD then I can start my computer with magic packet WOL.

  But if I use the option stop with the mouse, then I can't.

  I had to disable the hybrid boot in my windows, so it's no more a problem. I found there is a command to do this:

  ' bcdedit/set disabledynamictick Yes.

  Now it works fine.

• ProBook 6555 b driveguard wake up

  My probook 6555 b entered into sleep/hybernation og parked by driveguard after empty battery. Recovery / awakening was not possible, power is turned on, the battery fully charged, computer runs with the drive LED amber (indicating parked by diskguard?)

  I tried to shut down and restart without success.

  My referenced above laptop - HP Probook 6555 b - which worked fine until yesterday stopped all of a sudden start.

  When turned on, all lights are on except for the Caps lock and Num that flashes 5 times.

  The fan starts to spin for a few seconds, then stops, there are two short attempts to boot the DVD player.

  I saw a lot of 'solutions' by Googling, none of them worked.

  I have a HP probook 4720 s (product #: WT238EA #ACQ). I upgraded my 6 GB RAM.

  My problem. The other day, I was busy playing a game when the computer froze, then off while she turned on a small blue screen appeared briefly. I restarted the laptop and everything seemed fine, I left the computer for a few minutes and when I came back the screen was turned off completely but the computer was working normally. After loading the windows emblem the dreaded blue screen of death appears with a STOP error message 0 x 00000116 who, after some research, seems to be the graphics driver. After the start of the security system and roll back the standard graphics driver VGA adapter of the windows system 7 was then able to boot into normal mode. I tried to reinstall the HD 5470 graphics driver but the blue screen of death continues to be displayed. I completely rebooted the OS without result.

  I unplugged the screen of laptop computers to the motherboard without the graphics driver loaded, which did not cause a beep but on the monitor external when I plugged it. I tried the same thing with the loaded graphics driver, still no beeps were heard and when I plugged the external monitor blue screen appeared.

  Tests I had tried, I think there must be a problem with the graphics card itself as the blue screen of death poster only when the graphics card driver is loaded.

  Could you please say how you feel, I do, a help on this would be much appreciated. I have appolagize for the long message.

  Problem solved. The MOSFET chip had stopped working, a fast replacement and the screen and everything worked perfectly!
