HP ProLiant DL360 G5 - should "fully buffered" memory modules ECC?

Hello

I hope I'm asking in the right forum, and I hope that my question isn't distracting.

We have 2 servers ESX 3.5 clocked at 2 servers "HP ProLiant DL360 G5" with 4 GB of RAM each.

We bought 4 GB of RAM to each server.

I understand that we need ECC DDR2-667 RAM, but I don't know if "fully buffered" modules more expensive are necessary.

Someone please have a Board how do I know? Esxcfg-info shows:

Hello

HP have a few useful pages for their servers, I keep these around as reference, they are called Quickspecs... lists lots of interesting information about the server and its components..., it's the quickspec for the DL360 G5 it seems only the fully buffered collection list... so you may be stuck with requiring that...

  • Expansion / Upgrade ProLiant DL380 G5 and ProLiant DL360 G5

Hi all, we have two servers, Proliant DL380 G5 with SmartArray 400 and Proliant DL360 G5 with SmartArray 200icontroller controller, expand us on the disks, memory and cards network, the problem is that after we see the documentation which is sometimes wrong and don't know not the limitations of each of the parties, the issues are:

    Proliant DL380 G5 SmartArray 400:
    - STORAGE: up to 8 SAS / SATA, not clear what size that can be used with this controller, we understand that up to 500 GB SATA 7200 RPM and maximum 2 TB SAS 7200 RPM, we currently use with 146 GB drives to 10,000 rpm, whose original documentation is the maximum allowed value.
-MEMORY: Up to 64 GB modules of maximum memory up to 8 GB.
    - NETWORK: update with PCI Express, support cards that I can find are HP NC110T PCI Express and PCI-Express HP NC373 HP NC360T PCI-Express.

    Proliant DL360 G5 SmartArray 200i:

    - STORAGE: up to 4 SAS / SATA controller supports only 200i SmartArray four drives in RAID 0, 1, 1 + 0 if we wanted to expand to six bays that are available on the disk server, it would change the controller and memory. Yet, the size of disk maximum supported based on the documentation is 72 GB SAS and SATA drive 60 GB, but looking it seems as if you agree at least 300 Gb SAS disks at 10 000 rpm and up to 500 GB 7200 RPM.
    - MEMORY: up to 64 GB maximum memory modules up to 8 GB.
    - NETWORK: update with PCI Express, support cards that I can find are HP NC110T PCI Express and PCI-Express HP NC373 HP NC360T PCI-Express.

This is what I have gathered and what interests me in the expansion and to say that the documentation I found to give the feeling of this conflict, is perhaps by the dates of their procedures, but before you make a payment would guarantee the purchase. Also getting information guides, manuals and forums, I have also consulted compatibiliy HP Proliant Server Guide, so I have consutlado with HP before purchasing, but have yet to receive an answer.

A greeting and thank you very much

  • I can't stream videos until they are fully buffered, or see files download/download/in my records, until they have been completely downloaded so in the background, why is this?

A week ago, I could not start the viewing of videos until they had been fully in memory buffer or files downloaded / see them being downloaded until they had been fully downloaded in the background somehow. I know that this is not a problem with my internet because I tried watching a video and download on my phone and Tablet and they had no problem instantly streaming videos while they have been buffered. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Flash Player and Java and cleared my cache, temporary internet files and internet history various times. I restarted my computer and nothing has solved this problem. I tried to download files / video streams on IE9, Opera, Firefox and Chrome and they all have the same question. My laptop is running Windows 7 Edition Home Premium. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Juan,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Communities. From your problem description, I understand that you can't videos until they are fully buffered and also you are unable to see the files, folders, until they are completely downloaded. Please correct me if I misunderstood.

Juan, I understand how it could be frustrating when things do not work as expected. Please, I beg you, don't worry I'll try my best to resolve the issue.

These look at two different questions.

Number 1: unable to videos of water courses until they are fully buffered

Because the problem is persistent in all browsers and not only internet Explorer the problem with the adobe application. To be sure, let us try to install the Silverlight plug-in http://www.microsoft.com/silverlight/ and try to play videos and check out with the question of the binding http://www.microsoft.com/silverlight/iis-smooth-streaming/demo/#/multi-cam

  • In buffered memory hash join

    Hi all

What is the operation of source line buffered hash join. I know that it uses the hash of the pass to send data but other then that what would be the difference in the hash join and put in buffered memory hash join. I would like to know work mechanisam.

    Foreground:
    ========
The Coordinator query scans, aggregates and hash distributes ZIPXXX of line 13 to the slave series 2

Put slave 1 parallel analyses and hash distributes ZIPXXX from line 17 to series 2 slave

Slave set 2 joins these on line 7, then hash (probably on another column) distributes backward for slave set 1 - that is why the hash as line 7 join must be buffered.

Slave 2 set Parallels and hash analysis distribute REP_XXX on line 21 to the slave series 1

Hash slave joins them to line 4, then passes them the query with the Coordinator to write to the table.

It seems that you should 'alter session enable parallel DML' to allow parallel loading in select in line 4.

    Second plan:
    =========
The plan is virtually identical, although the collection of statistics seems to have changed the table names.

The query Coordinator scans, aggregates and the DIFFUSE GEO_XXX of line 13 to the slave set 2

Because the very small result set aired together slave 2 can analyze and join the GEO_SXXX of line 15 then diffuses back result (probably on another column) to the slave set 1

Because the very small result set aired slave together 1 can scan and join the REP_XXX of line 15, and then pass the results to the QC to write the table.

  • Installation of VMware ESX/ESXI 4.1 on HP Proliant DL360 G4

    Hello

I think to buy an old HP Proliant DL360 G4 machine with 2 Xeon 3.6 GHz processors and 4 GB of RAM.  I intend to install VMware ESX or ESXI 4.1 on it.

I read some reviews of VMware and other products of the hypervisor and all say that these 64-bit Xeons have no VT support option and therefore cannot run 64-bit Windows guest OS.

Since I just use it as test environment learn more about Windows Server 2008.  I would like to know if I can install ESX 4.1 on the HP DL360 G4 and if so, can I install client Server 2008 32-bit Windows OS on top?

Another machine, that I'm looking is the Dell Poweredge 2850, which has the same processor and roughly the same features as the DL360 G4.  So I want to know what a Xeon with no VT - x 64-bit is limitation of technology with regard to the installation of the virtual machines based on Windows on it.

    Thanks for any help.

The Xeon 3.6 have VT - X, so you will not be able to run 64-bit OS comments, as you found it- http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=28019.  You would be OK for customers 32 bits, but you would be prevented from running Windows 2008 R2, because it is 64-bit only.   At this point, I wouldn't bother with a test server that cannot run 64-bit guests.  If you want to stick with a server-class machine I keep watch or watch a white box - vm - Help.com - see the list of the white box.

  • ESX 4.1 on HP Proliant DL360 G7 + Smartarray 410i

    Hello

I try to install ESXi 4.1 (downloaded from the HP site) on HP Proliant DL360 G7, but Setup ESXi having problems with detection of RAID. The logical unit of the smartarray is detected, but the size of the capacity is 0 (displays 0.00 B in the screen of the Installer). Is this a known problem, how can I fix?

    P. S.

I also tried to install the version no HP of ESXi, same problem.

Everything also tried installing CenOS, fine

    Thank you

ESX (i) is limited to 2 TB - 512 bytes / LUN. The ACU can take the table and divide it into logical LUNS that ESX (i) can then use to create data warehouses.

    Hello

You can easily remove the memory modules.
I think that the Bay is placed at the bottom of the unit.
Remove the screw that is blocking the Bay, and you will have access to the module.

Here is a video of how do this on another Satellite L500 laptop. But the procedure is not very different on Tecra R10

  • How to determine if all memory modules are working properly

Ref: Pavilion a1102n, Windows XP 32-bit.

I upgraded my memory from the computer by replacing the 2 existing modules of 256 Meg of origin with 2, 1 Gig modules. This gave me 1.97 GB RAM as shown in Control Panel - System - general.

Recently, I added 2 more 1 Gig modules. This should bring my computer to the max memory for this product. When I checked as stated above, it shows 3.11 GB of RAM. HP note that, when you add the max memory, the total RAM may be slightly less than 4 GB, but loser 0.89 Gig seems excessive.

How can I check to see if all 4 memory modules are working properly?

    Thank you.

    SubVetUSN,

The total is correct. The average is 3.3, according HP link on your device.

Evening! Can I attach the memory module 1 GB DDR2 PC2-4300 on my laptop Satellite M70-122 by myself and maybe there's a certain manual for such action?

    Hello

usually it shouldn´t be a problem to swap the memory module on your computer. Unfortunately there is no manual, but you can visit the following site for more information on this topic: http://www.irisvista.com/tech/

In your case, you should only remove some of the cover from the bottom of the machine which is fixed with a screw, behind this fixed cover the Bank of memory where the memory modules are installed.

    Just check out the site...

  • Satellite L50 - B - 1 HM - how to replace the memory module?

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite L50 B - 1 HM, product number: PSKTAE 072017CE. It has 8 GB of RAM but is expandable to 16 GB.

My question is, should I buy a 8 GB memory module? (and I would add up to 16 GB).
Or should I buy a 16 GB memory module to completely replace the memory of 8 GB?

Memory 8 GB Toshba module I've found is the following: P000577360

    Thanks in advance

    Kind regards

    Hello

Googling around, I found also specification for your model of laptop and if I understand it is just your machine can be upgraded up to 16 GB for you can use 2x8GB.

Compatible 8 GB of RAM for your machine has PA5104U-1M8G part number.

I n t have this model of laptop, so I put t know if there is coverage of RAM placed on the lower side of your laptop. If this isn't the case, RAM could be placed under the keyboard so RAM upgrade must be performed by the Toshiba service provider. Removal of material or to open the case of the laptop on your own is the warranty.

    Be careful about this.

  • Question of memory module - Qosmio F10

Half of the year there, I changed the motherboard of Qosmio f10 PCB p000415760 to p000454980 (F10) of PCBs.
When I get back any computer laptop I had a "RECORD OF INFORMATION TOSHIBA" who is after point 2:
2 confirm the compatibility of the memory modules
one. Some problems have been found with combination of the chipset Intel 915 PM EXPRESS and some memory modules.
So you have to check what type of expansion memory is installed in the customer unit.
    b. Exchange an incompatible module with a PC 2700 DDR SODIMM (333 MHz) for module Alviso.

This means that I have to change the memory module that was on the old Alviso module 855 chipsets?
If so what type of memory should I get? Buy DDR2 for this motherboard?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

    With your questions

Half of the year there, I changed the motherboard of Qosmio f10 PCB p000415760 to p000454980 (F10) of PCBs.
It's the card used for the Qosmio F15 AV201 model we. TOSHIBA motherboard (special), A5A001749010 (PM0025960010).

    > Means that I have to change the memory module that was on the old Alviso module 855 chipsets?
No, if you use the module in memory of the former Intel 855 chipset to the new Intel 915 and try no problems, there is no need to change.
When he says PC 2700 DDR SODIMM, this means that the type of memory to use. In this case, with a frequency of 333 MHZ, taken in charge by the 915 chipset. The brand is your choice.

    > If yes what type of memory should I get?
The most often used with the Intel 915 are the Infineon PC 2700 DDR SODIM, but Samsung memory modules work fine, too.
The best are the Corsair and Kingston (512 MB and 1 GB) and the most expensive modules.

    > Buy DDR2 for this motherboard?
No, you cannot use the DDR2 modules with your motherboard F10. They are different fisically and performance at different frequencies, too.
