HP S2031 monitor: S2031

Suddenly, my monitor has stop working and falls asleep without coming on. I get a message saying "Check video cable".  I tried to disconnect and reconnect the DVI cable and the power cord. I had no previous problem.

My problem has been resolved with a new cable. Trick to make sure you that your connections are securely fastened.

  • off message input signal range by turning on pc - monitor hp s2031

    Hello

I have a HP S2031's monitor I got a few weeks ago.  After I got a new video / graphics card in the computer (because the original card couldn't handle all around 1600 x 900 (60 Hz) great things.)  However, I just noticed that when I turn on the monitor and the pc - first before windows starts it is a message indicating that the input signal is out of reach of the settings at 1600 x 900 at 60 Hz.

Now, I don't remember see this message when the original video card was in the pc ~ but I also don't always stay right there while windows starts so I can't say with certainty that the message did not exist with the original video card.

I go to the menu on the screen section and settings are set for 1600 x 900 at 60 hz and I also right click on the desktop and in the display so that settings can also be programmed correctly it and everything is set correctly.

This isn't a problem, unless I'm trying to access the bios.    I tried to go into bios to see what kind of options are there for the video configuration and the only options we configuration video AGP Aperture Size (64 MB). Main (AGP) graphics card. AGP hardware detected - AGP card. Only problem was that at the time where I got this far in the bios that the monitor went to sleep on me. which makes it difficult to get out of the bios and boot the computer normally on the monitor going to sleep on me.

Anyone has an idea as to why I'm getting that message about the input signal and how do I fix as well as how do I stop the monitor going to sleep while I'm in the bios?

I am running Windows XP Professional with sp3 and all updates and the monitor is the HP S2031.  The graphics card is a NVIDIA GeForce FX5200 and the monitor is connected to the pc with the monitor's DVI port since this card has only 2 ports dvi on it. I had an old card in the pc (which has the VGA port) but he could not show the 1600 x 900 with this card (and I'm not sure that the message was there with the old card, since most of the time that I'm not just sitting there waiting to start everything)

I didn't notice the message until today and nothing has changed - other than the new video card and who is in the pc for about 2 weeks now.

Any help would be much appreciate.

    Hello

Sorry that it took so long to get back to you, but things have been very busy here (between the two to get hit with a foot of snow before Halloween and loss of power for a week still to go back to normal)

In any case, as for the video card - it is a card ASUS NVidia GeForce FX 5200 which has 2 DVI connectors which him.  According to the information on the map

Expansion / connectivity Compatible Slots 1 x AGP connectivity Interfaces

    1 x S-video input - 4 pin mini-DIN (with adapter), 1 x S-video output - 4pin mini DIN (with adapter), 1 x video composite input - RCA (with adapter), 1 x video output composite - RCA (with adapter), 2 x DVI - I - 29 pin combined DVI, VGA - HD D - Sub (HD-15) 15-pin (with adapter)

Anyway, I tried to plug the monitor into the other DVI port, and it now works fine.  I guess that a port is bad or it is not intended for making that comes with this monitor.

Thanks for the help and suggestions.  So they were very much appreciated.

  • New monitor S2031 incompatible with new Pavilion P7 - 1108P?

I recently bought a Pavilion P7 - 1108P with Windows 7 (64) for use with an HP S2031 LCD monitor 9 for my accountant home based business. The Pavilion has an AMD A4 - 3400 APU with Radeon HD graphics card. There is no VGA port at the back of the computer, only two DVI - D ports. I connected the new monitor to the new computer with the single-link DVI cable supplied with the equipment. My problem is with the display; It is huge and pixelated and won't work with the accounting software I need to use. On the page of screen resolution, the display is listed as 1. Monitor Non - Generic PnP "with no other options available, and the resolution is set to 640 x 480 and disabled with no other option." I tried to install the drivers on the CD supplied with the monitor, but nothing changes. I also downloaded the drivers from the HP website for this monitor for Windows 7, but the computer says that it was not properly installed. After three hours on the phone with HP Tech Support, I was told that the monitor was not compatible with the computer. I did my homework before buying, the specifications of this status monitor is it compatible with Windows 7, which miss me so much? Any help would be greatly appreciated... I left my job full time to start this business there are 4 weeks and I need to get up and running as soon as POSSIBLE!

    Thanks in advance!

  • HP S2031 monitor problems

Hi, I recently bought the HP S2031 monitor so I can use it for HD (Ps3) games and also bought a HDMI DVI digital video cable so I could connect to my monitor, but when I go to the DVI source and try to turn on the HD settings on my playstation, it says that I need to change the resolution to 1600 x 900. I have it looking through manuals and the CD from HP that it came with the internet for help, but I found nothing. will you please help me find a way to change the resolution of the DVI source, so I can play in HD for the first time.

    Thank you

Thank you, but I actually found out a few hours only after you have to manually switch to 720 p and he tried to go to 1080 p, so if someone wants to know u - go to display settings video and chain right there.

  • monitor HP s2031 will not receive channels of cable TV, due to hdcp. What should do?

I move to a building with only cable TV reception. I'm planning a ditching of an old, huge (not flat screen) tv and use my monitor s2031 hp with a tv tuner that will receive from a cable connection.  I'll pay gladly for channels such as hbo, starz, etc, but my hp s2031 monitor was HDCP, which apparently allows to block channels.  Am I incorrect?  HP probably has a solution for people who are willing to pay for content. I can't afford a new monitor, and I don't want to lug around my current giant to the new location. The screen on my laptop is much smaller.

You are incorrect. HDCP (content protection high definition) will stop sending analog signals of HD content. Since your HP s2031 monitor has both VGA (analog) and DVI - D input (digital), you'll need to use the DVI - D input, watch HD content. Your cable box is likely to have a HDMI output. To use with your monitor will require a HDMI-DVI cable.

  • HP S2031 20 "monitor I want to mount on the wall. What size screws to mount?

I have a monitor HP S2031 I want to mount on the wall.  What size screws I put in the monitor to attach it to the media.

    Thank you!

    Sandy59

The series of HP products that monitor your S2031 comes from States, "this monitor uses the compatible VESA 100 x 100 mm installation ports." This means that there should be 4 screw holes, square shaped, at the back of the monitor to 3-15/16 inch independently of the other. In the monitor screw holes should have metric threads ISO "M4" and are typically 10 mm deep. The appropriate screws (usually 10mm shorter or longer) are normally provided with the stand.

  • Pavilion 17 Laptop: how to connect a VGA input monitor (HP S2031) to my HP Pavilion laptop via USB

I have a new Pavilion laptop with Windows 10 (64 bit) I want to connect to a monitor HP S2031 n. This monitor has a VGA cable I had to adapt to the USB port. This has been done, however, when I try to detect the monitor says that the device is unknown, and that the driver is not available. Is there anything we can do about it? When I Press f4, I can take the step selection process, but without the computer recognizing the additional monitor, it simply does not work. What could someone tell me would be appreciated.

WoooHoooo! A boy who has always been easy. Put the digital cable is well pop up. Guess I'll check with this group next time before you buy the wrong thing. Thank you very much for the help, I appreciate it!

  • H P S2031 monitor: monitor S2031 P H card

I am with the purchase of a Dell Inspiron I3543-5752 from bestbuy. I want to connect a H P S2031 monitor to it. Dell card does not have an HDMI port. Is there a cable that allows you to convert the Dvi - D input signal on the monitor? I am an amateur, and this can be basic but am at a loss. I also have a Verizon WiFi modem for DSL signal. Is this Actiontec GT704WG Rev B considered as comparable with a Wi - Fi 802.11n?

    Hello

A HDMI to DVI - D cable will work. Wi - Fi 802.11n is backward compatible with other by consequent GT704WG (with the wireless g) will work.

    Kind regards.

  • HP S2031 monitor going to sleep

When I'm playing games (World of Tanks), or try to run a simulator (space shuttle, train, etc.), the screen goes black, "monitor going to sleep" message and the monitor turns off. What is a monitor or a PC problem? The screen stays on all the time if I just browse the web. Thank you.

I found my ptoblem. It was not at all, but the PC monitor. I removed the ther side of the PC and saw that there was a wire that was loose and fell on the videp card fan. The fan may not turn, so the card to warm up and stop sending the signal to the screen.

  • S2031: compatibility issues with windows 10

I have an old Hp S2031 monitor of 3 years. I got a free upgrade to window 10. I received the following question from Microsoft:

    NVIDIA GeForce 6150Se Nforce 430

Production of the display is not your screen compatible with Windows 10. Check with your support manufacturing.

    Is there a solution?

The phase indicated in the post "NVIDIA GeForce 6150Se Nforce 430" comes from the graphic chipset motherboard.  If you have a separate graphics card solution, then it might still be OK.  This chipset is quite old by computer standards, so it should not be supported in Windows 10.  I would like to wait a few months, a workaround might appear to increase the demand for this chipset for Windows 10 support.

  • Satellite A105-S2031: DVD/CD play to slow as slow motion

Hi, my A105 - S2031 a combo CD/DVD TS-L462C. If I play a CD or DVD, everything is too slow as a slow movement.

Could someone help me how can I solve this? What is a mechanical error of the CD/DVD combo?

Thank you for all the world contribute in advance, Michael

Here on this forum is certainly not possible to give the exact diagnosis and if you want to have an exact answer, your laptop must be verified by the authorized service partner. Diagnostic tools using special they can say with certainty why this happens.

We can only speculate here and for me it will be interesting to know what is with the HARD disk while playing CD or DVD activity. On HDD LED is permanent? What is with the activity of the CPU? Please check the CPU (%) usage when playing CD/DVD.

  • HP S2031

I just purchased a P7-1154 HP and it has to know that you can not use my new Monitor wide screen Dell because it has a VGA socket.   Long story short, I installed the drive monitor, hooked to the screen and it would allow me to change the screen resolution of large.  I tried everything I knew without success; Contact HP support and it was a joke.  I didn't even get the foreign person talking on the phone.

After 2 hours of trying different things, I was finally able to change the screen resolution to something where I could actually use the office. I had to go, then select some files in the driver CD to operate. I still can't even optimal screen resolution be an option.  I'm very angry against HP and why they make it so hard on an installation simple monitor.  Any suggestions?

  • HP S2031 LOST COLOR

I like my monitor HP - but all of a sudden, he lost his YELLOW - and look funky. He did a yellowish, but when I use Paint, for example, to display the basic colors, the yellow has disappeared. It is time for a new monitor... or can it be fixed. I tried all the settings of the monitor that I could find, but without success.

I THOUGHT about IT... for those who may have a similar problem, you may have a bad connection between the monitor and the laptop I did. Simply unplug the VGA series and re plug - plug it solved the problem.

  • Satellite A105-S2031 battery LED blinks 11 times.

Everyone has been able to diagnose this problem until the fault? A few days ago, this very laptop just turned power off and since then the battery led just blinks 11 times and nothing more. I disassembled the laptop and everything looks fine on the card (not the type to be skittish around electronics. Worked on cell phones for the last five years). Anyone have any ideas?

Have you tried to boot up your laptop with AC only (removed battery) power?
I really can't believe that you can find the reason why this happen if you take apart your laptop. I assume that there must be a problem with electronic control gear.
