HP silver 17.3 "Ash Pavilion 17-f019wm

Hello! I just bought this computer on a budget, thought the specs seemed OK and went ahead and purchased this computer for my video editing. I think I want to update my graphics card.

1. I don't know if I can, I can't know if my graphics card is connected to the card mother or not. I know it uses RAM to my system and I would like a more powerful card with its own memory.

2. are there upgrades other than a graphics card that you would recommend?

I'm certainly not tech savy. I just want to know if I could replace it and if so, what video card should get?

I would also like to hear from any other recommended update.

Thank you very much.

Hello:

The only way you can update the graphs is to completely replace the motherboard with one of those enrolled in the service manual for your model may have better graphics.

Doing such a thing would cost as much as buying a Pavilion 17 with the best graphics included.

    Hello @shl1024,

    Thanks for the quick response!

Check if your BIOS is up to date.  You can use Windows Update, to search for the drivers that are compatible with Windows 10.  You can consult this site too: products HP - where can I find drivers Windows 10 and software for my model?

If you have problems to install the drivers, you can use the tool on the following site:

Open the Windows Update troubleshooting tool

It is possible that the drivers are not available for your product.  If this is the case, or the drivers you found do not work, try to use the solutions on this site to work around the problem and let me know how it goes: how: install and update drivers in Windows 10

See p. 35 and this is the memory module you need to reference HP:

  • Pavilion 14-al015na: new HP laptop reboot without warning

I would like to start by saying that I am not savvy computer very waves and too complex answers will just go over my head. Honestly I do not know if I chose the right subforum for it (sorry if I don't!). Please try to put the answers in stupid people talk

I bought a HP Pavilion with a processor intel core i3 (this: http://www.johnlewis.com/hp-pavilion-14-al015na-laptop-intel-core-i3-8gb-ram-1tb-14-natural-silver/p...) there are less than a month and I barely use it's really for uni starts back. Despite this, I had problems several times with it restarts without warning, while I'm in the middle of something. I also had this error message once: SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (bcmwl63a.sys) as it turns off. He also asked to be restarted for updates and just because he apparently wanted to basically all the time it is turned on.

I moved all my documents, photos and music from my old laptop (also a HP) to my new but I have left the program etc. files behind. My old laptop had issues where it would freeze and become completely unresponsive (does not restart as in the case of my new laptop) and have to be turned off by the power button, and anything I worked on to lose and it was one of the few reasons I decided to replace it. In addition, whenever I turned on it he grew up a pop-up, the kind you see when you install a program. I uninstalled the program in question, but the pop-up persisted. I've always had a McAfee antivirus protection on all of my devices - computers of my phone, which was connected to the time - but I guess that something got through between the cracks?

Basically, I would like to know if the issues with my new laptop are the result of a virus or not (the same who touched my old laptop?) and of course be saved or not. Thanks in advance,

    Estella.

    @leaf2,
Thanks for joining the Forums HP, Estella.
I'll be happy to help you!

I understand that your laptop will restart without warning after posting the message-"(bcmwl63a.sys) SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED" once, it freezes constantly and frequently reboots, here's what I recommend that we do:

According to my research, it could be a bad driver, the origin of the problem otherwise we will need to perform a test of hardware on your memory card, I'll let you know how to do this, later.

To remove the bad driver, I recommend the following steps:

    1. Start Control Panel, click hardware and soundand then click Device Manager.

    2. Expand the node under network adapters, right-click the device entry, and then click on Properties.

    3. Select the driver, and then click Roll Back drivers, if it is gray in color (impossible to click) select uninstall drivers.

Made the above, restart the computer and then go to the HP website and download the latest drivers for your network card: Click here.

If the problem persists, click here for - "How do I run a test of hardware on your laptop.

    Keep me posted!

  • HP pavilion dv9925nr sound does not work help please

Hi I have a hp pavilion dv9925nr laptop and I spent in Windows XP pro and now the sound does not work and iv tried everything iv downloaded all the drivers on the internet and everyone simply goes on to say: no driver no has been supported in this package and its driving me crazy please can someone help before I just use it to target paratactic

    Hello:

Then I recommend that you follow the instructions in the guide to the link I posted above.

After you install the MS UAA driver, you may need to install the audio driver updated the posted on this link:

Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221 drivers (ModelC700, Vx5xx series and dvx5xx and ABOVE )

    Pilot modded by silver here

Unzip it to a folder... Use the device, right click "Audio Device on HD" Manager, choose Update driver,
Not to connect, install from a list or specific location,
Select don't search, I will choose the driver to install.
For the hardware Type select 'show all devices '.
Remove control "Show compatible hardware" and click on 'disk '.
Next... Navigate to the unzipped folder and choose the "WiSVHe5.inf".
Ignore XP when he complains, Reboot.

If none of this works, try to reinstall XP and start from scratch. If you do not see your appliance an audio controller if you reinstall XP, then more than likely it is a hardware failure of the audio chip.

    There

  • Can I replace a Keyboard(Non-Backlit) with a backlit keyboard in my laptop HP Pavilion 17-e119wm?

Hey guys, my name is Armando

I bought this laptop in April-->http://www.walmart.com/ip/HP-Anodized-Silver-17.3-Pavilion-17-e119wm-Laptop-PC-with-AMD-A10-5750M-Qu...

cause of my old HP laptop had too many problems. Anyway, I was wondering if this laptop in the link may change its regular keyboard for a backlit LED keyboard rather cause I usually find myself using it in the darkest of the time and the keyboard becomes hard to see in the dark. So I was wondering if you guys would know if it can be upgraded. (it would be useful for me, play games on Steam in the night)

    Hello

    No Armando.
There is no ZIF connector for him in the Council, so, basically, you have to change the whole motherboard & I don't see not all cards compatible with this function.

Pavilion laptop g7 requires thermal grease for Proccesor graphic?

    Thank you!

Whenever I have repair a laptop I remove thin aluminum shim and clean the heat sink. Then I use a small amount of artic silver (my choice. There are others) a thin layer is fine. The thing to watch are the pads of heat transfer of silicone that maybe on graphic memory chips. Do not put any HT composed on those. You can find sheets of silicone in line. (color = thickness) HT silicone pads are also used on the northbridge, and sometimes on both voltage regulator components.
