For some unknown reason, HP Support Assistant has stopped working. I noticed that the large taskbar icon had disappeared.
I tried to run the program just out of curiosity. "HP Support Assistant has stopped working. A problem caused the blocking of the program works properly... "etc. It is reproducible. The program does not start.
So, I tried to uninstall in Control Panel of. It seems to start to uninstall, but then I get an error message. "Error 1316 a network error occurred trying to read the file C:\windows\Installer\HP support Assistant.msi" when I click "OK" it cancels. This is also reproducible.
I tried to download the software again from HP: sp64126.exe I accept the license agreement and moving forward. I get a message that files already exist and I want to overwrite all or not. Matter of INo I choose, nothing happens. The installation window simply disappears and I'm at square one.
Windows is fully updated. I use Norton Intertent security 21 - fully implemented to date.
I solved this on my own. HP has a Recovery Manager installed on my system [search---> Recovery Manager] and aid that allowed me to reinstall just this software from my hard drive recovery partition. Very cool!

HP Pavilion 500 series: HP support assistant has stopped working on windows 10
I have redownloaded Assistant HP several times since the installation of windows 10; It works twice, maybe, then he said: stopped working-new HP and nouveau1 assistant what is the problem with that?
Please advise!
The first thing you need to do is to completely uninstall HPSA. Then, use the version appropriate for your computer listed here.
I suggest to use Revo Uninstaller to remove HPSA. It will remove the HARD disk as well as all the remains of the BIOS. I use the FREE version. The advanced option is best to remove the entire application.
Please click on the button + Thumbs up if I helped you and click on accept as Solution If your problem is resolved.

My documents and downloads are coded, and now the HP Support Assistant has stopped working
First my 'docs' have been encrypted, now my downloads are encrypted and the "Support HP sat down. ' 'stopped working', when I try to open it, it is"encrypted", the '
Recovery Manager"is also encrypted. Message is: 'looking', but do not get a reply box to tell me what the problem is. Now I'm so frustrated!
Help, please!
Carolyn
Hi Carolyn,
1. what operating system is installed on your computer?
2. have you made any recent hardware or exchange of software on your computer before the show?
3. you receive an error code or message?
4. what exactly happens when you try to open my documents and file downloads?
5. have you well any type of encryption, or if you are aware of what it is done on your computer?
What version of the operating system Windows am I running? :
Please follow the steps and the link:
Method 1:
Decryption of a file:
- Right click on the file you want to decrypt, and then click Properties.
- Click Advanced.
- Click to uncheck the checkbox encrypt content to secure data to decrypt the data.
- Click OK to close the Advanced attributes dialog.
- Click OK to close the Properties dialog box.
- If the folder contains files that it contains, the confirm attribute changes dialog box appears. You can choose to decrypt only the folder. But it will decrypt all the files currently contained in the file.
If you want to decrypt the contents of this folder, click apply changes to this folder, subfolders and files, and click OK , then check the issue.
If you are still having the same problem, follow the next method.
Method 2:
I suggest to start your computer in safe mode with network and run Microsoft Safety Scanner because it might be an unwanted virus.
Step 1:
Start your computer in safe mode with network and check the number: http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode
Step 2:
Scan your computer by using the Microsoft Security Scanner by clicking Download now:
http://www.microsoftsafetyscanner.com/
Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.
I hope this helps.

First of all Hello! I have some problem in my HP G62 - a32EE Notebook PC windows 7 homebased. First of all my HPWA_Main.exe has been disabled. Even if my bluetooth and WLAN is disabled. I tried to unplug the adapter and I also uninstall my wireless HP support, but still I can activate it. I tried to click on the F12 key, but even my f12 key didn't work. My system BIOS has been updated already last January 13, 2012.
Second, my HP support Assistant application stops working 5 days ago. I received a notification on my hp support assistant that needs to install the update. So, I installed it but I can't install itself because of serious problem. So, I was advised to close the application, and I did. Yet, I can not use my hp support assistance so far.
Any help will be much appreciated.
What was the status message for the card wireless in Device Manager?
My previous post should be the steps listed.

Continuous error message: Dell Support Center has stopped working
I have Windows V8ista on an Inspiron530s. With any surgery, I keep getting the following massage:
"Dell Support Center Has Stopped Working Caused A problem blocking the program works correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. " For several weeks, I tried to find out the reason for the error message. It will appear in a small box several times per hour during any operation. (internet or a document) I find no answers in any forum. I have a printer All in one HP that I uninstalled & reinstalled the software, for, at the suggestion of another, but that has not solved the problem.
AT the SAME TIME: I have Trend Micro Internet Security, (aka PC-Cillion) and although the firewall & defenses are up, I can't scan the computer for viruses. I spoke with trend micro Tech Support 4 times on the phone and various changes have been made, but not thhas solution. They seem to think that the problem is related to this error message. I'm really tired. Can anyone help? :?/
Best advice would be to uninstall the DSS. As you find that it causes more problems then it helps. Go to the Control Panel programs and features and are looking for Dell support Center and uninstall it.
