HP support assistant - update card Ralink 802.11n Wireless LAN April 23, 2014

My HP computer:

Product name: p6 - 2220t

Product number: B3F79AV #ABA

My Ralink 802.11n Wireless LAN card:

oem230.INF:RALink.NTAMD64.6.1:NDIS61_RT3900E_C1. NDI:5.0.9.0ci\ven_1814 & dev_5390 & subsys_f0511814

My OS:

Windows 7 64-bit sp1

The current version of the driver on my wireless LAN card Ralink is 5.0.9.0.  HPSA now tells me that there is a version 5.0.33.1Ap1 update.

Last AS HPSA said that there is an update, it was bad and created problems. See http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Operating-Systems-Software-Recovery/HP-Support-Asistant-Ralink-...

Does anyone know if HPSA sends the correct update this time?  I would like to learn more about this until I followed the recommendation to download and install it.  Must what problems/bugs or security issues correct?

Thank you for your time and your help.

Hi mpw101,

I understand that you get an automatic update that indicates that you must install the software driver for your Ralink Wireless LAN card, and I would be happy to help you!

For your computer, the most up-to-date Ralink Wireless Network Controller Driver is labeled sp58084.exe. I spoke with Dunidar on this subject, and he referred me to a previous post that you created on your network card. That being said, if you update is always at the SP62055.exe, please ignore this update as it is a business unit.

I hope this helps!

I read your post about the way your computer displays a pop-up message prompting you to update the installed wireless card. I'd be happy to help you in this case!

If you encounter any issues connecting to a wireless network on your computer, I wouldn't count the update as crucial. If your computer is having problems connecting to the network, even if the problem is intermittent, it may be a good idea to install the update.

I hope this helps, and if you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to post back!

Check with the assistance of FoxConn, their documentation and online drivers. Don't assume new products

    Are all Windows 7 computers?

  • HP Support Assistant - update for Ralink August 2013

I posted this under the hardware because it's the Ralink WiFi card, but the problem is an HP support Assistant update then maybe I should have posted here in the software.  Thought I'd try again; no answer on Forum hardware.

    Hello mpw101

If I understand correctly, you have a desktop PC HP Pavilion p6 - 2220t CTO and run the Ralink SP62055.exe? I have no idea why the Support Assistant recommend this update because it is to the computers of Business model and not your computer. I recommend that you follow the instructions below.

Step 1. Download this driver to your computer

Step 2. Go in Device Manager

Step 3. Right-click on the Ralink Wireless and uninstall (check that you delete the driver when prompted)

Step 4. Double-click the file you downloaded and install it as it's the right driver Ralink for your computer

This should solve your problem. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • Card Ralink 802.11 wireless b/g/n "disconnected."

I recently purchased an wireless 802.11b/g/n PCIe x 1 Ralink card and inserted into my HP dc5800 pc running Widows 7 Enterprise 64-bit.  Device Manager recognizes it and says it works and the utility of the wireless card can see the different available wireless networks, but the Ralink icon in the task bar has a red line through it and it says it is disconnected.  It will connect to any wireless network.  I reinstalled the software, rebooted the router (Linksys Wireless 2.4 G GB) and downloaded the latest driver for it (3.1.10.0), it still does not work properly and remains "disconnected".  This device will still work with this version of Windows? Any ideas?

    Hello

    1. are you able to connect to the network wireless using the wireless integrated Windows 7?

Uninstall the Ralink wireless card utility and try to use the Windows 7 default wireless network and check if it helps.

  • RALink 802.11n Wireless Adapter - connects at startup but the dsiconnects after a few minutes

    Hello

I have a HP Pavillion DV6-3125SA and just reinstalled Windows 7 Home Prem after installing a new hard drive. Initially everything (including the wireless adapter) had been working perfectly, and then after the last round of updates (as you know that get you about 1 million of updates on the re - install) my wireless adapter started to misbehave. He started sporadically disconnect and reconnect, but now it gets disconnected and remains disconnected. It still works fine at startup. I checked that the driver software is updated, more I also uninstalled and let it automatically re - install. An interesting point to note, is that when I linked to go in Device Manager to disable (and re-enable), Device Manager freezes and unresponsive.

Someone at - it had a similar problem or know a solution?

    Thanks for your help.

    Megan

    Its a cell phone, right?

Run windows Update >... settings disable the updates recommended leaving ONLY the important updates for automatic installation.

Visit the HP support, specific to your model, and then reinstall the chipset and wireless driver

    See if that helps

I know it's just a warning and it doesn't seem to affect the performance of my computer that I can say, but I would like to know why it's happening.

Well, I found the task that updates HPSA in Task Scheduler.  I disabled it by using the Properties window.  On the chance someone may be interested, I'll post how it turns out.

I hope that I can now keep the HPSA listed for my computer with no additional alert to update again HPSA that generates several warnings and is not compatible with my desktop computer Pavilion p6 - 2220t and/or Windows 7 sp1 64-bit operating system.

This disabled the HPSA update only not any other.  It seems to be a standalone update for HPSA.

  • HP6267c Support Assistant update problem

HP6267c with Windows 7, Norton 360, Acronis True Image

HP Support Assistant was working properly until I have been offered and accepted a Support Assistant update today. Now, I can't go in front of the opening screen. Clicking (gray) next, setting, either about has no effect. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version several times, including the use of Microsoft Fixit for uninstall.

I worked on a "blue screen" kick this PC, and sometimes it can only be started in Safe Mode, although it works normally now, if these problems may be related.

    Hello again hp6267c,

Thank you for responding to my post, I'm glad to hear than the update of HP Support Assistant solved at least one of the questions. I'm you provide a document from HP support: Windows 7, Vista, XP Product Activation, which will explain how to reactivate your Windows 7 and why it is you are being invited for this key. You want to do before you get locked out.

Now the update solved your HP Support Assistant may have solved the BSOD problem as well. If you still get this question once please re-post for additional assistance to be resolved.

Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • HP CoolSense disappeared after Hp Support Assistant update

    Hello

Today the software "Hp Support Assistant" update itself. After this update, I've lost the ability to open a program I used on a daily basis to reduce the noise of my fans: "Hp Coolsense. It is really important for me to control the temperature at wich fans are beginning to increase their rotation, since sometimes I may need a quiet computer, like when im on a school library.

    Thank you for your time.

Rat... technical term.  Must be the wrong one for your system.

    Ok...

    • Look in your recovery Manager - under "Immediate assistance" > Software Installation

Find the package here and see if you can load it from the Manager.

Using Recovery Manager to restore the software and drivers (Windows 7)

    • Search C:\\SWSetup - might be in a folder called HPCOSE?  There may be a configuration file for it to reinstall.

I'll see if I can find another patch / install the package and I'll post back if I find it.

  • HP dv6-6c10us: HP dv6-6c10us Broadcom 802.11n wireless adapter does not work after windows 10 installed

I have a laptop HP dv6-6c10us with a Broadcom 802.11n wireless adapter.  It worked fine on Win 7.  When I upgraded to win 10, it has stopped working.  The driver has not been updated since 06/02/13.

Until the driver is updated by Broadcom or HP, this computer is now a desktop computer.

Any suggestions on how to get the adapter wireless on Windows 10?

I recommend you to go back and do a system restore to a point before started to install the automatic updates, and where worked the wireless.

Then download this tool that stops updates to install automatically.

    https://support.Microsoft.com/en-us/KB/3073930

Hide all of them and then install one by one until you find the one that is to destroy the wireless connection.

When you have found the culprit just hide it again and it will not be installed.

You can create a system restore point each time you install an update.

Tedious, but you should get where you want to be.
