HP TouchSmart 520 (1155) PC-random cursor jumps and selects after update of Windows 8

Is it possible to turn off (or turn off) the function of sensitivity to touch on computer HP TouchSmart 520 (1155) ABC my wife?     Problem with cursor - jumping my wife has been an extremely frustrating experience for years, now.    We used the extended warranty several times because of it, and even he had sent to hp that finally agreed to replace the touch screen.  We re - install the original Windows 7, but as soon as we gave Microsoft upgrade to 8 to win a few months later, the problem came back.  Then upgrade to win 10 didn't change things at all.

    Hello

On each laptop Toshiba touchpad can be disabled on two different ways. First is using the FN + F9 key combination or DISABLE option in the properties of the mouse.

Follow the steps below and check if that helps.

To turn off the touchpad tapping feature:

    1. click on start.

    2. go in Control Panel.

    3. in the find what box, type mouse, and then click mouse.

    4. change the settings according to your needs.

    RTEOttawa, welcome to the forum.

I suggest to delete and reinstall the wireless card.  It can only solve your problem.  Sometimes a small problem has occurred which can be fixed by this solution simply.  If this does not work, you may need to buy a new card or other wireless adapter.

  • When I send an email, my cursor jumps and words splits

It seems varialbe - sometimes, I can type a letter and then he jumps on another line (upwards or downwards and in the middle of other words) other times I can get half a sentence typed before he jumps.

    Thanks for any help!

    Linda

    Hi Linda

If it is a laptop, the most common cause of this problem is the Touchpad.

Because the keyboard is integrated in the housing of the computer laptop, something so simple that the vibration caused by typing can cause the touchpad the cursor or initiate a click, depending on sensitivity settings.

You must disable the touchpad when typing. Most modern laptops provide an option or a keyboard shortcut to get there.

The following keyboard shortcuts have been known to disable the touchpad on different systems. Press and hold down the Fn key and then press F4, F6, F7, F9, or F12 to disable the Touchpad.

Specific instructions, read the instructions for your system or contact the support of laptop manufacturers.

I got this system since December last and really liked even if my biggest headache is THE lock up or break running Win7 64 bit.

I order the novelties of the Ministry of HEALTH and it shifted a lot so I returned it to Amazon, which is never a problem. Today, I got the COD BlackOps II and guess what he also accused.

I find it really hard to believe with the processor i5 of Corte, 8 MB of RAM that this would happen, if my guess is that the internal graphics sucks, plan and simple.

Guess my only course of action is to sell the start-up of the system to a system with a real video card installed.

any other suggestions > and my system is clean, no bugs, virus, spyware or anything else that might slow it down

Well I did some checking to include nVidia Web site and ran it little test to see if my system HP has been up to run COH BO2 and the answer is the graphs in the system of sucks.

So, looks like I need to get rid of this system, the first time that I really had no problem with HP. I checked with HP, they would give me $200.00 trade in... That is sucks it also.

  • Cursor jumps around the screen.

ASUS uses tactile keys, built by the Synaptics for most laptops, so you should have a few options for sensitivity in your mouse control panel.  Look here:

    1. Type 'mouse' in your Start menu to find and open the properties of the mouse.
    2. On the Hardware tab, select your touchpad device from the list.
    3. Click Properties to open the touchpad settings.
Note that some Asus "netbooks" have keys to touch mutli-touch capable of handling 2 fingers, as "pinch to zoom".  They have no sensitivity adjustment.  In fact, I used an Asus netbook like that and it doesn't even have a switch for the touchpad, and I found it so senstive and boring that I returned it to the store.
I'm sorry to say, but you might have to do the same, if you are not satisfied with the product.  There is only so much that Microsoft has control over, and that's something that only manufacturers can do anything on.

    Hi all

I would like to add my 2 cents to the conversation.  I have an ASUS G73S MS Windows 7 Professional. It has a Synaptics touchpad and came with standard Synaptics software and the update of Scrybe to allow all the controls really fancies as pinch and 2 fingers to scroll. I have 8 GB of ram and a processor I7. So, it shouldn't be a question about background programs steal resources.

I have this same problem cursor jumping, and he does the same typing this simple message of a real pain.  I also did a bit of research on this problem.  Maybe I have traced for some, the problem date back as far as from 2008 to 2003. It occurred in the Mac and it is apparently common in the PC, it seems to be a universal problem.

    Reasons/solutions vary:

programs background too consume some resources or remove unnecessary programs.

mice control/run virus program antivirus, touchpad question/switch to a mouse.

Touchpad grounded questions/metal on the ground, program conflicts/reload last updated,

Touchpad too sensitive / reduce touchpad senistivity.

noticed an evening that said something about a file of bad scrll.exe or something like that

Something on a download called Touchpad Pal has also seen, but I would be a search before you actually download to make sure that it is not malware.

Most individuals find that disabling the touchpad and using a mouse connected real thread solved the problem.  He has done for me, but I still prefer using the touchpad due to lack of space for the mouse. Usually, I'm sitting in the Chair with the computer on my lap, that's why I wanted a laptop.  I just had my PC wiped and checked for viruses, it was clean. I had the actual number of operating processes, reduced to about 60.  Before you wipe it off, there were about 120. I will continue to try to find a solution, but I think that the best, I'll be able to do is reduce the jumping, not really to eliminate it.

  • HP 520-1165a TouchSmart desktop PC, touchscreen random takes control of the cursor

When you "touch"touch screen, a small diamond seems to take the place of the mouse cursor, correct."

I have a problem with my PC, if the cursor of the mouse is in use, the touch diamond screen will be "pop up" and take control of the cursor at random intervals, interupting what I was doing at the time, or automatically the link located in the center of the screen at the time of opening.

The "pop up" diamond is always in the same 2 places, for the most part, dead center of the screen, but occasionally also appears at the bottom left of the screen by opening the menu of windows automatically.

In this case the on screen keyboard tab also appears on the side of the screen.

By clicking on the mouse takes control back to the mouse cursor, but it gets very frustrating because it can occur more than once in an hour and becomes increasingly more regular.

I had this same problem about a year ago and was covered by my warranty from suppliers, but it took 6 weeks for delivery - repair - return of my PC and I don't want to wait that long again. They had to reinstall my whole system and all information, downloads etc... have been lost. Fortunately I got the majority of my backup files, but it was still a pain to restore all when it's obviously a problem with this PC.

I love my HP PC and no other issues with performance. It's my player of social media, my music player, my movie player, my full entertainment system, and this insidious problem is purely a gene.

I very rarely use the touchscreen function, is possible to dissengage this feature to possibly fix my problem?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Yours Sincerely

    Phil ward.

NB: Yes, I cleaned the screen, and no, it's not a random flying insect, activation of the touch screen (although this happens :-))
