HP Ultraslim docking station: connection HP ultraslim docking station with 2 external monitors

Hi, I plan to donate a station host and two monitors to my husband so that he may set up a job at home for its HP Elitebook 840. I would be very grateful if someone can tell me if the HP Ultraslim to home station is compatible with monitors that I have chosen, the dell U2414H. its specifications are 2 connectors HDMI MHL, 1 mini dp 1 dp 1. 2 a, 1 dp MST, 4 USB 3.0 downstream ports and 1 upstream.

Could someone tell me if I can put in place two of them with the docking station HP Ultraslim, what is the compatibility and what extra cables or adapters, I will need to make them compatible.

Thanks a ton.

Do you know what version of the HP Ultraslim Docking station you have?    There are a few specific changes with regard to the 2013 generation from the dock where the docking station has 2 DisplayPorts x instead of an earlier version that had a display port and a VGA.

If you have the later generation of 2013 docking station and 2 x DisplayPorts, these monitors should be fine.  And you should of course two displayport cables to use with monitors (screens could come with them, but very sure they do).

The 2013 model looks like this (2 ports to the right of the network socket):

http://ECX.images-Amazon.com/images/I/61ZSGNoW0sL._SL1500_.jpg

Whereas the old model looks like this (one DisplayPort, next to the network socket):

If the monitors do not come with cables, I highly recommend Monoprice.com as your source for people or ALL wiring.   The link below is for 3 feet of long cables, but according to available to his office, you can cable of 6 to 10 feet.  Below is an example:

WARNING: I have seen several users posts on the forums here and outside hp directly complain that there are a number of questions using 2 monitors x DisplayPort, even with the 2013 version of the dock.  There is firmware available for the dock updates that help.    I wanted to just throw that out there because he's hit ' n Miss as to whether they work with multiple monitors, and because these screens have no VGA option, you cannot workaround to use VGA and DisplayPort (instead of 2 x DisplayPort) to make it work.

Hi, maybe someone can help me. I'm trying to connect a W540 (no external dock) to an external monitor Dell.

I tried with two monitors, but none work.

Connected via VGA port on the side of the W540

    (1) connected monitor and clogged up the resolution of the screen on laptop (lines icons tiny, black on each side of the screen). External monitor works fine. When unplugged, it went back to the previous screen resolution.

    (2) laptop registered resolution and icon size of the screen as a profile.

    (3) external monitor connected right click options graphics Intel, insured was custom display, main display plus external monitor, then had to go in a re - click on the name of the saved profile.

    (4) this worked ok until the next day, when turned on laptop and a blue screen. Managed to get this back hard by restarting and completed the steps in N3

Thank you. A quick update, I contacted Lenovo, and they sent the updated bios drivers. I also uninstalled some software Canon MP Navigator and Lenovo EMC Discovery (http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/ht081844?tabName=Solutions). One or all of them seem to have solved the problem, including the slow start.

  • Tecra A10 - 1LL - connection with the external monitor

    Hello

I have a problem with my laptop Tecra A10.

When I connect to an external monitor to the laptop I have to manually switch the screens because external shows nothing. When I disconnect the monitor I have to pass the screens manually with FN + F5 because the internal display shows nothing.

My old laptop (Tecra A9 (PTS52E-0E702NGR)) is the poster automatically whenever I connected or disconnected an external monitor.

Anyone has an idea why the A10 light automatically as the old notebook? Maybe it's the only spot in the preferences of the display driver that I don't see right now. :-)

    Hi SilverWizard,

What happens if you try to switch on the external monitor using the options of display driver, or that this combination of buttons don t work?

As wrote Al - eX you must update tools from Toshiba to get the keys FN working again. Everything can be downloaded here:

    It's working now?

The ATI chipset will support this setting?

  • Satellite L40 - BIOS - the external monitor connection preferences

    Hello!
I have some problems with the external monitor (CRT) connection for laptop L40 - 17O (PSL4CE).
Matrix on it is broken. There is no windows installed.
I connect external monitor, but I don't see anything. I heard that it is necessary to change something in the BIOS, but it's hard to do that without image =)
Would be great if someone who has the same note would say what button to press to enter the BIOS and change the options in this way. Or perhaps someone could take a snapshot of the bios and its options.
I'm looking forward to see answers)

Normally it should be an option in the BIOS where you can choose, if it isn't the internal LCD screen, or both or is automatically activated after connecting a display to the machine.

Under Windows, the combination FN + F5 does exactly what you need: it goes from the screen.

Could you please check your BIOS and attention to the options in the form? I guess that basic finding. :)

    Welcome them

  • E5530 + Intel HD 3000 plus Advanced Docking Station is no triple monitors?

It does not appear that a Dell Latitude E5530 with Intel HD 3000 graphics and a Docking Station advanced brings the possibility to use two external monitors OVER the laptop monitor. Why? Why Dell would push a docking solution that supports supported two external monitors if the laptop monitor would leave when two external monitors are connected to the workstation? Frankly I think it's sneaky. I feel to chip away at. They got an additional $ 200 or more out of me for nothing. Why would someone buy an expensive docking station takes supported two external monitors if the intention was NOT to use three monitors? Has any sense at all.

Dell reference... it wouldn't have happened if you had taken away local sales reps in my area. These idiots you turn on the phone (and switch on every 2-3 months) and call it "sellers" are anything but. Our 'seller' actually told me on the phone that this laptop and this docking station would support three monitors. Flat, he lied to me. And now I have no recourse. I can't believe that I live in a city of 600,000 inhabitants and Dell cannot fit to hide even a single human living on this territory. Ridiculous. This would not have happened 5 years ago when I had a direct representative to visit me every month.

The E5530 is the model of 'budget' - upgrade to the best video that you would have needed to buy the E6530, which has the hybrid video option.

  • External monitor like main screen for M200 with docking station

    Hi all

I have a Tablet M200 with GeForce FX go 5200. I have a Toshiba docking station and an external LCD display. When it is docked, I would use the external LCD as main display and the LCD builtin as the secondary display. (I want the taskbar, icons and newly opened windows on the external screen when it is docked.)

Unfortunately, I can't find the right combination of settings of this. If I put Windows to extend the desktop on the external screen, "use it as primary display" option is grayed out. I don't get the span horizontally or vertically options in the nView utility, just the Standard and the Clone (and this only if I do not extend to the office.)

How can I get the external screen be the main while being the internal school?

    Thanks in advance!

  • HP Elitebook/HP 2013 Docking: Elitebook will acknowledge only an external monitor at the same time

I have a HP Elitebook that I anchor on a HP 2013 Ultra Slim Docking Station. I am trying to connect two external monitors (the two HP EliteDisplay E201) to the docking - one VGA and one DVI. The docking station is more than enough ports and screens both work if hooked up at once, but I can't bring it to be recognized at the same time. Is there something that I am missing? Do I need a splitter or how to make this work? Thank you!!

No need to apologize.  If anything, I should apologize because I purge my frustrations with HP to someone also have problems with the HP hardware.  That makes no sense at all.

Anyway, it seems that the Folio 9480 m will have HD Graphics 4400 * at least *.

According to the Intel site, it supports up to 3 independent displays, so you're good so far.

Intel page is very informative, in order to see if you can understand how to operate from here:

    http://www.Intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005556.html

Before that, make sure that your port docking station display firmware is up-to-date.  I assume you are using HP 2013 Ultraslim Docking Station.  Look at the Firmware of this page section (find your way to the page "drivers & software" for your product, or use the software for HP do you still, even though I personally do not use them).

  • T400 and Advanced Mini Dock - does not detect DVI monitor

I have a T400 with integrated graphics and Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, and I recently bought an Advanced Mini Dock for it.  I have a Dell 1800FP monitor connected to the dock via the DVI output.  When I anchor the T400, the system does not detect the external monitor.  If I go to the resolution of the screen and click on detect, it does not appear.  The weird part is that if I reboot then than in the dock, when the system comes back he * is * detect and use the external monitor.

Any ideas what's happening?  Other equipment connected by the base (USB, Ethernet cable devices) all work very well.

I think I solved this problem.  I uninstalled my video driver and installed the latest version from the Lenovo Web site (which was more recent than the one found by Lenovo System Update).  Now my system properly detects the external monitor when I attach to the docking station.

  • T400 Win7/64 advanced Dock - external monitor is no longer comes when starting

    My configuration:

    T400 (2767-14U)

    Windows 7 64 bit

256MB ATI Radeon 3470HD (switchable graphics in 'High Performance')

    Docking station advanced (2503)

Monitor of D221 Lenovo's (using the VGA cable)

I used the configuration above without problems for a year.

    My problem:

I just replaced my hard drive, clean installed the operating system and all applications and updated all the drivers and BIOS using the system update. Since then, my external monitor is no longer lights up when I start my computer in the dock (lid closed). The only way I can get the monitor external to work is to start my computer first and then "hot dock" it.

As far as I know, all my BIOS/power/graphics settings are the same as always.

Thanks in advance for any help!

    Thanks for your quick response.

I thought of that also, but it isn't that...

After I posted the above, I realized that something was different was that I had installed this time logins.

Uninstall and using the installer of Windows 7 for wireless networks appear to have solved the problem.
