HP Z400: Z400 radiator Fan 4 pin 5 pin

Dear viewers,

I would like to know how I can fit a normal radiator Fan 4 pin pwm on pin 5 of the z400 mb. I have heard things about the use of the 5 original pin and rewire the 4 to 5-pin fan, but how?

Thank you in advance,

Melpie, foxsailor

It is not as easy as you think.  HP carefully balances needs with the combination of the cooling fan and the heat capacity of the heat sink and apply a certain amount of gas PWM fan to make it work at a certain speed at the start.  The amount of gas PWM is specific and less PWM restriction will be provided as you increase the speed of the fan base in the BIOS, and as control of cooling of the motherboard, the infrastructure also meets specific environmental constraints (such as temperature rise).  So, even if I can dink with them to my heart's content, I let them HP standards.  If you want to dink, these key information:

The Z400s use widely superior ability 'performance' radiator and the fan with the fan 92x92x25mm.  This is because most of the value for the Z400 processors are 130W TDP max.  On the other hand, processors dual processor Z600s to the value typically run at 95 watts max TDP.  As a result, they get usually the smallest fan 'general public'.  The more expensive processors run fast in less time... the Z400 usual processors are more brutal (solution of higher voltage, that is why they are more hot for the same fast speed).  The heat of two processors inside the Z600 is something that HP had to master.  To cool the hot single processor in a Z400 was probably easier, and the hot processor got bang HP more for your money.

The Z400 radiator/fan performance belongs to HP 463981-001, and its fan is an AFB0912HH Delta, with the standard 4 son PWM input/output of the engine.  The 5th hole of the CAP could be empty if a heatsink / fan public and is busy with a rider from the land of hole 1 to 5, if it is a radiator/fan performance.  It is the motherboard know that performance fan is attached.  It cannot be said, running or RPM, what happens... So, there is room for impersonation here, but I'm not advisee who.  Those HP fans often have a HP reference number on their label (which is the direction of the air flow always).  Then, he often have a number of added modifier for HP, and in this case, it is - 7W32.  Which has to do with details of the number of threads, their length and the type of plug.  See the picture below:

This is exactly the performance Z400 heatsink fan, and this is the one I would buy on eBay where I hung just the peak of.  You can not see well, but it's a record of 5 holes with the jumper on the barely visible ground here.

Wiring: As conventional PWM wiring pins 1-4 are on the ground, + 12 v CC, rpm of meaning to the motherboard of the engine, and finally PWM throttle control of the mother board to the motor.  If you use a good silent PWM instead of a HP fan it will be too limited by the built in HP PWM of the butterfly and run too slow when plug you into the motherboard.  I discovered this with beautiful Noctua PWM fans...

The motherboard knows if you have an installed 130W processor and will protest if you do not usurp the wiring or give her the correct wiring with a good fan (which I think is now that you know which fan to buy).  There are also other HP taken 5-pole fans 4 son used you can get off of eBay that works too, and then you can experiment around.

You can retrieve a plug 5 pin a bad HP fan.  The ends of the Brown connector are usually intended for cooling case rear.  I also posted here on my Mouser.com source end of the plug.  You can extract the ends making metal if you pay attention while pressing the locking tab that you see, and you can gently bend back on this fragile locking tab thin then it will work again if you want to solder on a rider to the ground of the terminal 1 to 5.   If you run these HP fans in 12VDC, they run much too fast.   It's all an act of balance HP included.  Era Z620 and beyond the things have become more complicated.

    Hi dude

Hmm, as far as I know, you need to set cooling module which has been designed especially for this series of satellite.
These special Toshiba parts can be bought from the AEP from Toshiba, which is responsible for your country!

I recommend to contact the guy and to order this part.
In addition, you should ask for additional help on the replacement of the cooling module. Disassembly of the laptop is not easy and a little trickier. People with no experience could damage other parts during disassembly procedure. That is why it s really desirable assistance some technicians.

Not a windows experience rating bad, huh?

Such as already reported here, over, do a search for "Ghetto Mod.  There are two main positions for this of me, one for the xw6400 and another for the xw4600.  Your case best fits the xw4600 case, but there is more information about Noctua in the xw6400 post.

  • Replacement radiator fan on HP H8-1214

I want to replace the fan on the heatsink in my H8-1214 because it has become squeaky/gay enough sounding even at low speeds, probably because of the bad bearings.

I can't find a picture that looks exactly like that (However, could be the Ebay announcement I found below it), but it is similar to this:

    http://www.larklane.com/students2010/zainabsaeeda%20khan2010/PC%20Components/images/heatsink%20And%2...

The screws of the fan to the radiator housing are, as in the photo, on the bottom Board of the holes. I'm not a crafty person, so it of maybe a stupid question, but is there screwdrivers with trees small enough to fit in the top set of holes, so that I can reach the bottom to unscrew the screws and remove only the fan part (and replace it with another)? Or do I have to remove and replace all with another unit combined thermal heatsink / fan? If I need to replace all this, can someone direct me to a piece that would be compatible?

On Ebay I found a replacement who said "P7 H8 P7-1010 H8-1010" and it looks like that. It's here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-HP-Pavilion-P7-H8-P7-1010-H8-1010-Intel-Heatsink-Fan-Assembly-644724-001...

Same part number is a good start, but the replacement motherboard must be tattooed to you match the numbers of the computer. The tattoo is the process of writing to the system-specific data in a special area of the BIOS. These data, this is what is blocking your computer recovery discs or one of the same exact model. Many different computer models of HP may use the same motherboard and you may have had a different model.

Apart from having an authorized HP your tattoo machine, you could install an operating system to store bought. Your existing data should work with XP pro but don't forget that you will not use of the HP factory-installed software and/or programs.

  • Replacement radiator/fan CPU in Studio XPS 8100 problems

I'm looking to replace the CPU fan/radiator in my Studio XPS 8100 desktop computer, using a Dell model 0TJ5T2 (http://i.imgur.com/NMu2wYk.jpg is my actual unit).  The Amazon seller, I ordered it from class compatible with the 8100 XPS (www.amazon.com/.../B008B9MUJ6; redirect = true & ref_ = oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00), but I'm having an extremely difficult time, install the new fan.  The screws on the line of the fan with the holes on the motherboard upward; but when I press firmly on one of their chiefs/Springs, the screw's not going deep enough to really catch on anything whatsoever (and pressure usually ends up causing the heatsink to slip away from the CPU).  Y at - it something I am doing wrong, or this model fan is not really compatible with the 8100?

There is a thread X on the bottom of the motherboard heatsink live in.

  • different radiator + fan?

I just bought a CPU upgrade and do not know if I have to / should get a fan and the different heat sink...

I have the radiator and the fan provided with my old AMD Athlon 64 3500 + 2.2 GHz Core 'Venice '.  I'm upgrading to an AMD Athlon 64 X 2 4800 + 2.4 GHz Dual-core 'Toledo' (yay!).

Your old fan will work, just keep it clean. The upgrade of the radiator and the fan is not a bad idea though. In the long term, the cooler, you keep your processor, longer it will last.

  • Radiator fan

Today I set my mates PC (HP M9065.uk) that the radiator was inlaid in the dust and he kept closing.  Everthings large now, but can someone please confirm that I put the fan on the radiator the right way round.  I could have sworn that he was back on the right, but im just making sure.  I put it to suck air away from the heat sink, being right next to the case fan that comes out so the heat of case.  I checked on the HP site, but it doesn't have a picture of the fan and I couldn't see an arrow on the fan itself.

    Thank you.

GR, you installed it correctly.  The fan is supposed to take away from the radiator.  That's how it cools.

  • Radiator fan works in passive cooling of the political system (Thinkvantage Power Manager 3.62)

    Hi all.

I have a model thinkpad T60 2008 and how it works on Windows 7. Everything was fine. Two weeks ago, I noticed that he would get a little warmer than usual. It was a year that I opened it, I decided to a maintenance operation. I used the manual and opened the computer laptop, gently removed the heat sink, use the air compressed to remove dust and reinstalled. I also put a drop of thermal paste on the processor peas for good measure. Put all back together and it runs a lot cooler.

I usually use my laptop running on battery Maximum when unplugged, and for this I keep the political liabilities cooling system. My question is, the fan should run in this mode? Because since I fixed it, my heatsink fan is running in passive mode (never noticed before running in passive mode) and I think it is running my battery time past.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem or if this is normal will be appreciated. Have a nice day together.

    -Ibrahim.

In passive mode, the temperature threshold for what fan comes in is increased, then the fan would turn up to maximum speed only when it reaches a higher temperature. But the fan will always kick.

When replace you the radiator, make sure that thermal paste is applied correctly, not too much just enough to get a thin layer on the CPU.

  • HP Pavilion dv7 for the radiator/fan

I'm trying to figure out how to disassemble my hp Pavilion DV7, but I cannot find anywhere how to do for my particular model. The precise model is

    HP Pavilion dv7-7121nr

    Hello

I had this procedure for your model for the replacement set of heat sink of the:

    Fan/heat sink assembly removal

CAUTION: Follow all precautions during the removal and replacement of components:

    http://h20574.www2.HP.com/Media/75D38F6E-BCDA-4E84-961B-F3BF5454EA2B/en/yea_fru_popup_precautions-en.htm

Before you begin: remove the battery, the door, the optical drive, hard drives, LAN module wireless, RTC battery, keyboard, cover and system board.

Disconnect the fan cable from the system board.
Loosen the four Phillips screws P1 captive who set the heatsink to the motherboard in the order in which they are labeled.
Because it is a map of the graphic system, loosen the three Phillips P1 additional captive screws that attach the heatsink to the motherboard in the order in which they are labeled.

NOTE: Graphics system UMA cards do not contain these extra P1 Phillips three captive screws.

Lift the heatsink off the system board.

NOTE: Due to the adhesive nature of the thermal equipment located between the processor and the heat sink, closed effort may be needed to remove the heat sink.

    Fan/heat sink set replacement

NOTE: Before replacing the heat sink, the thermal material should be replaced. The thermal material must be replaced each time the heat sink is removed.

Carefully remove the old thermal grease from the heat sink, the processor and discrete graphics models, the graphics processor with an alcohol swab.
The thermal paste applicator allows to apply a sufficient amount of thermal grease to the center of the processor and discrete graphics models for the GPU.

Align the heatsink on the processor and the screw holes.

Tighten the four screws P1 captive who set the heatsink to the motherboard in the order in which they are labeled.
Because it is a map of the graphic system, tighten the three Phillips P1 additional captive screws that attach the heatsink to the motherboard in the order in which they are labeled.

NOTE: Graphics system UMA cards do not contain these extra P1 Phillips three captive screws.

Connect the fan cable to the system board.

    Kind regards

    Hello

The air flow should move hot air away from the component and the tower.

A radiator in my example would be a radiator of CPU in a liquid cooling system. The radiator is at the back of the tower.

Your 1st method would push the hot air out of the tower.

This is the desired air flow to maintain the temperature of the ambient air as cool as possible case.

  • Z1 HP preinstalled: MXM fan/radiator

I still buy a Z1 and before that I have to spend thousands on that I would like to know if I buy the low-end without no graphics machine, there the fan/radiator ready for a card?

I'll get a Quadro card later down the track, so I would like to know if these fans are present and ready?

Those who want something else the same information, the 682305-001 is the black plastic cover with the kit radiator + fan fan.

  • You can remove the CPU of a heatsink fan without removing the radiator?

Well, I play games on my laptop and I think I have exhausted my fan. It's about does not and I get an error when I start my laptop (error 90 b). I want to replace it with the right fan but I would also save time and money by removing just the radiator cooling fan. Is it also possible to prevent overheating with the new fan in my laptop? Is another question, possible for the processor to change in this laptop?

Laptop: HP Pavilion G7-2269wm, Windows 8.1

You all rest of the warranty!

screw on the radiator fan & I would like to only by the fan.

Reconstruction will require good thermal paste like artic silver ceramic (good for laptops) also check how all chips in contact with the heat sink as if not under a load or using the soft thermal pads do editing of the slipways (measured correctly) copper will have big gains for cooling & life of the material.

CPU is variable, but upgrade options will be limited, consult the manual of the hp (support download) for possible options of better equipped models of processor...
