  • Z440: Workstation Z440 Cycles endlesly after changes to the BIOS.

I made a change in the configuration of the Bios, maybe I changed PCIe options or others by mistake.

From the start, I had the RED flashing eight times (the ROM Code) with no options on the screen.

Then I tried to reset the CMOS using the key.

After resetting the CMOS, to power up, the system seems to cycle endlessly.

The power light is more red or flashing, white Uni.

The white disk access indicator flashes constantly while I hear a sound of graduation of the speaker in each cycle.

There is no interruption or modification of the status of the power led or disk access while this bike takes place.

Each cycle lasts about seven seconds.

A note: if I plug in a USB flash drive in a port, it lights once in each cycle, it does not read only.

USB peripheral lighting such as a Flash drive or a mouse stop with each beat and finally back for a moment.

Except when necessary, no devices were left plugged into the USB ports, no. trays CD discs while troubleshooting.

I tried to use a standard VGA interface instead of DVI, still nothing appears on the screen during the power upward.

I tried to boot with no installed SSD, still nothing appears on the screen.  Same symptoms persist.

I also tried the Boot Block recover jumper on the motherboard, it causes me to get the RED button with

eight beeps and flahses once again, still no options for recovery.

I tried the CD and USB rom image. Recovery methods BIN which are supposed to work without the BIOS menu.

    Without success.

I recommend that you only call in the HP support and the problem taken care of. The workstation has 3 years of support on site, at least in the United States.

  • Customer management - t410 - HP zero

Ok.  I need to know which management option to use for the t410 and why there are two; no good documentation on explaining the differences.  We use both?  I've been playing with zero service HP Device Manager and customer.  Looks like Zero Client Services is a configuration all or nothing; which means that your limited to one profile and if you want to have different settings for other devices, you must create a structure of folders to MAC address.  Could turn into a nightmare when the count of device gets over 50 or more.

I am also unable to find any documentation on explaining how the image and push with Zero customer service packages.  There is not a management console for the zero customer service see all features that are deployed and easily allows the concealment, such as Device Manager.  Is there a rule of thumb to go when deciding on what management console to use?  Also where kits of Client for the zero customer service?  I need of advice and help on the update of the images, pushing packages, customer Kits and shadowing remote with Zero Client.  HP Device Manager seems to be explicit.

  • Z440 - M60 BIOS - time and Date settings

We can configure the Date and time in the BIOS on a Z440 with worm M60?
If Yes, where is the option?  Sorry if this is a stupid question.

I guess I don't think it is preconfigured, but I don't know even how to check the current configuration.

EskoBomb, BIOS Z840/Z640/Z440 has many changes from previous HP workstations.  The user interface of BIOS F10 is different.  I deleted my previous answer, since it applied to the previous HP workstations.  (Sorry, I misread your original message).

BIOS Z840/Z640/Z440 has NO settings to change the time and Date.  This generation of workstations doesn't have this option.  The time and date can be set after bootinging, and then edit them in the operating system.

These BIOS settings are no longer needed.

  • How to compact encrypted hard Workstation 11

    Salvation;

I am running Linux Centos 6.6 invited on a 64-bit Windows 7 (workstation 11) host. The virtual machine is encrypted, and I wanted to compact its hard (a file grow-able, ext4, I think).

I started by trying to VM / manage / cleaning discs, but which seemed to do nothing (he says no cleaning is required).

I tried VM / settings / hardware / hard disk / Compact disk to reclaim space. That doesn't seem to do much.

I went in the comments and canceled the free space with a 'dd' command and tried again the compact. Still no obvious help.

I then tried to do from a command line Windows 7 host, but failed with

    VMware-vdiskmanager - k 'F:\VMWARE-Wrk\CentOS-6x\CentOS 6x.vmdk '.

VixDiskLib: File setting configuration not valid. Failed to read the configuration file.

Cannot open 'F:\VMWARE-Wrk\CentOS-6x\CentOS 6x.vmdk' disk: one or more required keys were not foreseen (0x3e8e)

Failure at the 'F:\VMWARE-Wrk\CentOS-6x\CentOS 6x.vmdk' fret: one or more required keys were not foreseen (0x3e8e)

Is there an 'official' way to make this work?

    Thank you;

An encrypted disk cannot be compressed.
    > I went in the comments and canceled the free space with a 'dd' command and tried again the compact.
Because of the encryption it will not write zeros to the vmdk - it seems that like that of the Interior of the guest.

Either way... encryped VMDK is quite fragile - you create backups regularly.

  • 10.0.4 Workstation introduced "internal error" If vmware-authd service does not

The v10.0.4 comes out must do more teleworkers laconically "solve the problem of memory on ms - win 8.1. He appears to have introduced some new internal dependency that requires the vmware-authd service always runs even in cases that worked very well in v10.0.3 without it.

Species: Win7 x 64, guest host of XP Mode any cut down to the bare material (no usb in particular). Used to work under Workstation v10.0.3 with none of the VMware services started on the host computer. After the v10.0.4, it fails from the start with a box of "internal error." Manually start the service vmware-authd before starting the virtual machine to operate again.

I hope this fix "windows 8.1" could itself be fixed as to not penalize anyone. Thank you.

    Hi dxiv,

I just checked: the only change between the workstation 10.0.3 10.0.4 for Windows is the landmark of memory Windows 8.1, and it has absolutely zero overlap with Win7 host or anything related to vmware-authd.  There is absolutely no change of workstation itself that explains what you describe - certainly nothing intentional!

You launch Workstation via "Run as Administrator"?  Are you sure that nothing has changed in your environment it (anti-virus, etc.) because of the change in behavior?  If you temporarily switch to Workstation 10.0.3, is the expected returns behavior?

    See you soon,.

  • Workstation 10 Installer crashes on Windows 7

I tried to install the trial version 10 Workstation on a Windows 7 64-bit instance, but the installer crashes every time.  I looked at the Windows error code (0xc0000005) and found that it could be almost anything a consent or the version number for the program tries to access a pointer zero in memory.  Here is a screenshot of what I see whenever I try to run the installer on my computer.

    crash.png

Additional measures that I took to address this problem are:

    • As an administrator

    • Running in compatibility mode for Windows 7 (and even some other operating systems because I am desperate at this point)

    • Download the Setup several times

    • Install all the Windows updates available

    • Restart system several times

    • Google search for answers

I couldn't find something online that said that someone else has encountered this problem.  Anyone know what to do?

    * UPDATE *.

I tried to install each version to 7 and each file installation has failed.  Any other program that I try to install on my computer works fine, only VMWare software fails to install.

Workstation installers are quite negligent when laundry place after a failed installation.
When you tell us that you tried different versions I think you get failure probably due to unclean rest of previous attempts.

Cleaning is not trivial at all - it may be necessary to turn off UAC and do a manual cleaning of the registry.

In your case, it is probably easier to reinstall Windows - had to do it once myself although I know how to clean manually...

Looking at the Workstation\settings.ini of C:\ProgramData\VMware\VMware: the file is empty!

    2. all the possibility of turning off power or Shutdown are grayed out

Unfortunately, I recently took a snapshot, but I can't go back to this, Message Unable to open snapshot file

Questions: I suspect the empty state of C:\ProgramData\VMware\VMware Workstation\settings.ini is the problem keys. But what content should be in this file?

    Any contribution is appreciated

By default, the settings.ini file is of length zero and is probably not the cause of the problem.

If the Virtual Machine will not pick up, then you must manually remove the suspended state.

Navigate to the folder that contains the files that make up the computer virtual, then with VMware Workstation closed, or at least the l' onglet tab for the target of the Virtual Machine in VMware Workstation GUI closed, delete the following files: .vmss, .nvram and .lck files/folders.

Then edit the .vmx config file shows the option checkpoint.vmState : checkpoint.vmState = ""

Note: Removal of the waking state has the same effect as when you perform a hard reset of the virtual machine, or by pushing the reset button on a physical computer, in that all data in unsaved open applications is lost!  However if the Virtual Machine resume so I don't see any other choice to try to run the Virtual Machine.

  • Unplug or switch Office how from one zero client

I know that if you use the client on a system, you can have the menu bar that a user is able to disconnect from a session. But how a switch or switch user to one zero client workstations? I'm testing with the Wyse P20.

Maybe if there is a command or a shortcut, so that I can create disconnects

    Hello

that s okay: the abbreviation is 'CTRL + ALT + F12' to disconnect the session via the keyboard, and is enabled by default.

You can also disable this function via a profile on the MMC.

Required minimum Firmware version: PCoIP Firmware 4.0.1 for that shortcut.

Add: If you use the integration of Imprivata SSO on your ZeroClients, you can disconnect the session by pressing F4.

    That s "Imprivata by default"

HOWEVER... F12 not letting me NOT select a different boot device. If I go into the BIOS and go to the start menu, I see the hard disk and not the CD is at the top of the list and there is no way to change the boot order. Up, down and '+' and '-' keys don't do. The machine is a version that compatible with 6-7, but I shouldn't have to level 9 (I think, anyway).

The boots of the virtual machine so fast but after that everything a 100 attempts I can't else primary hard drive to boot first.

    TIA

    Kevin

With VMware Workstation (or at least tab of the virtual machine) closed, add

    bios.bootDelay = "5000".

to the virtual machine's .vmx file. This will add a 5 second delay for the startup process that will allow you to hit the "ESC" key to the start menu and to attach an ISO or CD image to the virtual machine. Make sure that the virtual CD-ROM presents itself as 'Connected' before proceeding with the selection of the boot device.
