HP15-ac103na: HP Support Assistant on the new laptop

I have a new notebook HP15 running WIndows 10, so I'm new to all this.

The HP Support Assistant icon appeared in the taskbar with a double exclamation point on it.  When I move the mouse over it, it says "Significant action", but when I click it, there is nothing I can do.  HP Support Assistant window is disabled by a screen of welcome in front of her, and the next in the Welcome screen button is also disabled.  So I can choose my preferences to update etc, but I can't turn them on or go beyond the Welcome screen.

Is it me, or is there something wrong?

You can try to download the latest version of this page and see if it works: HP Support Assistant. HP® Official Site

But if that doesn't fix it, why not just let HP repair at our expense!

You must contact the HP Customer Support directly so they put you in contact with HP Tech Support to see what they can do on the diagnosis and repair of your machine remotely.

I did recently, and HP technology was able to remotely access my PC on the Internet and to make the necessary repairs.

    Well I tried to download the update, but it would not install?     I tried again since my last email with the problem where I couldn't find the program once it is downloaded, and alongside the race/Save little was downloaded files. I clicked on it and watched the sp54931.ex download in a folder "view and track downloads. I then told run this and asked that my administrative password. I thought here goes while I'm waiting for a response from you, nothing to lose to new and low and here is the update for the new Version HP Support Assistant downloaded correctly. Since then, I had a glance in the desktop program and there is no warning, everything is up-to-date.

    If all is well now and I can't thank you enough for all your help to try to solve this problem for me. You are the experts, and I was just lucky. I sincerely thank you.

    There are a few possible causes to do this, but first try the following and let me know if that helps at all.

    Unless you still have the latest installer for HPSA, download again from the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    Then, download the Microsoft 'Fixit' on the link below and use it to uninstall the current version of HPSA on your PC.

    Once done, restart the PC.

    Install the installer HPSA recorded do a right-click and selecting "run as Administrator".

    This makes all the difference?

    Try creating a new profile as a test to check whether your profile is the source of the problems.

    See "basic troubleshooting: a new profile:

    There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "tools > Modules > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

    If the new profile works then you can transfer files from the old profile to the new profile, but make sure not to copy corrupted files.

  • Installation upgrade memory in the new laptop (E8730w)

    I just got my new laptop and was dismayed to see that I obviously have to install the 2 GB memory upgrade that I ordered.  When I'm ready to install it, I will contact HP technical support.  I'm interested in the big picture right now.  The laptop has installed Windows Xp and Vista, stored on the hard drive.  No matter if I use the new laptop for, say, from the user's manual before as I have added additional memory, or is it better not to use the laptop until I have all of the memory (2 GB original and 2 GB upgrade) in place.  I hope that this process will be no more complicated than to install an ethernet card in a years office 5 or 6.  Where can I get good screwdriver to open the module compartment memory?  From my experience, it is easy band, the head of a screw phillips, especially a small head, if there is no appropriate screwdriver.  I'd appreciate any idea on these issues.

    I don't think that no matter how long you use it before you install the memory. Regarding the screwdriver, I use a 41678 artisan to work on laptops with screws Phillips. It could cost $ 1.69 at any Sears and any tech tools for perhaps $15 will be a very similar small Phillips. You will know if you are stripping it, so stop everything. Memory installation is much easier than to put a PCI on a desk. Relax its all good.

The router works through this cycle, basically acting as if I disconnected and then reconnected to the power to reset, it disrupts my Internet connection to my Wired iMac and wireless, another office to the floor.     Nevermind - I seem to have solved the problem with a simple firmware. Funny how the Linksys technician support don't think to ask what version of the router I have or suggest that I should try to upgrade firmware first. However, he is quite good at trying to upsell me for a new router instead of trying to help me solve the problem I had. It makes me want to go buy Netgear next time, thanks a lot!

    How to get Vista recovery Media and/or to use the Vista recovery Partition on your computer.

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

    Ask them if you can also make recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

    After installation > go to the website of the manufacturer of your computer/notebook > drivers and downloads Section > key in your model number > get latest Vista drivers for it > download/install them.

    Save all data, because it will be lost during a clean installation.

    I need to disable a copy of my Lightroom 6.1.1 and reactivate the new laptop. There is no 'activate' or the button 'disable' to the title assistance at registration (contrary to what is stated in the forums).

    The help section on the Adobe Web site made no reference to disabling Lightroom specifically, and the advice given for other products do not seem to apply.

    Can anyone help with a specific procedure to disable the product?

    You must install the software, transfer does not work well.  You will need the serial number of your purchase to activate the software after installation.  You need floppies installation of your purchase, in order to install, and if you don't have the disks, then you can download the trial through the page linked below.
