HP15-ac114nr laptop: hp ram maximum 15-ac114nr

I want to update my ram & install an SSD. What is the maximum amount of ram I can install & what do you suggest? I know that too much can be as bad or worse than not enough. I just want to drag out once. Thank you.

Hello

The following link shows the specifications of your computer:

http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-15-notebook-PC-series/8499326/model/10957235/document/c05055132/

1. for RAM, the manual says:

Support DDR3L-1600 (retrograde at DDR3L-1333) single channel (for Intel BayTrail-M)
Supports up to 8 GB of RAM in the following configurations:

● 8192 MB total system memory (8192 × 1).

● total 4096 MB system memory (4096 × 1).

● total 2048 MB system memory (2 048 × 1).

That means you can switch to 8 GB of RAM using the part number 693374-005 or

http://www.crucial.com/USA/en/HP-15-g059wm/CT6641164

2 for SSDS, there are currently 1 TB 5400 RPM HARD drive, you can switch to 1 TB SSD using any standard 2.5 "SSD for laptops. Samsung 850 series SSDS are very popular now. Other: SanCisk or Crucial.

Replacement of memory is not easy since access you by removing the top cover, which does not expose the slot and requires the removal of the motherboard. Not for most end users.

  • Tecra M3 - questions about the RAM maximum and graphics driver update

    Hi people,

I have a Tecra M3 (Variant FBCF with the Geforce 6600 w / 128 MB) and I have two questions that I hope someone here can help me with:

    (1) what is the maximum amount of RAM that I can install here? The manual says 2 GB (2 x 1 GB), but I do not see why the laptop would be paralyzed this necessary way, cause as far as I know the 915G chipset can handle 4 GB of RAM. If anyone knows definitively what?

    (2) the latest drivers from nvidia for XP are 2005. As most of you probably know, nvidia systematically more than past performance with versions driver and adds compatibility with some games that end up in trouble. The real driver from the nvidia site does not install because it says that it cannot find any compatible hardware. Can't Toshiba even a pilot updated annually? There is a driver of 2007 for Vista, I can't believe that if they did, they decide refresh the XP one while they were to him. Any chance of their audience on this here? I could force the nvidia.com driver to install, but I don't think that it's necessarily a great idea.

    Thank you!

    Hello

the maximum amount specified for this machine memory is 2 GB and 4 GB not but you can try it with 2x2gb modules.

With regard to your graphics: Don t use the nvidia driver since it is not suitable for mobile graphics chipsets and has no timing in the driver that is needed to run flawlessly.

I'd rather you to view laptopvideo2go and download some drivers here. :)

    Welcome them

  • Extensions of RAM maximum Satellite 2400-103

    Hi all

I see this is a frequently asked question, but I have not found the answer for my laptop.
What is the maximum extension of the satellite 2400-103?
On some sites, a maximum of 1 GB is declared while the manual talks about 512MB.

    Thanks for your help!

    Kind regards

    Frightener

    Hello

That s all I found on your laptop model.

  • Upgrade of RAM Maximum X230t

I have a Tablet Lenovo X 230 (Type 3434) with 4 GB of RAM with a processor Intel Core i7 - 3520 M with the original intention to upgrade the RAM at a later date (it is two years now). He currently runs two operating systems: Linux Mint 17 and Windows 8.1. In fact, I timed the start and stop of the two operating systems and concluded that Linux Mint 17 was faster than the upgrade of Windows 8.1 (improved to 8.0 which has been upgraded to Windows 7). Microsoft friends of my friends say I need more RAM (they also said I should switch to a SSD drive to eliminate noise noisy fan the heat from the laptop).

I would like to install a maximum amount of RAM on the computer, which I believe is 16 GB (although the Intel specs say 32 GB, but I think that it is based on what is programmed on the software of the bios of the motherboard says it's 16 GB). I understand that there are two slots. I did not open the laptop yet (prefer having the right part ready to go first). So here's my question:

Can I buy a 8GB and a 4 GB to 16 GB in my already 4GB laptop or am I have I need to remove the old RAM 4 GB chip and plug two memory chips Live 8 GB? I'm from the old school where we used to add RAM was in the 1990s, where we were forced to install RAM chips in couples with equal amounts (which I am happy that this old method is no longer needed).

You can add 8 gb stick to your own 4 GB (make sure you have an installed stick). Or replace the software 4 GB 2 x 8 GB. To your choice.

Of course, type of memory should be the same as you have if you decide to add a bar of 8 GB - pc3-12800 1600 mhz. Do not hunt for memory pc3-15000, the gain is minimal.

X 230 (t) specification says as portable supports the voltage normal memory (1.5V). Actually x 230 support low-voltage 1.35v memory too.

It is not recommended to mix sticks with schedules and different tensions. Usually, it's the last symbols within the p/n, CL9 or CL10 chain. Look for details to any diagnostic tool.

    Your listing:

    http://support.HP.com/HK-en/document/c04536606

    Your Service Manual:

    Manual

2 slots: DDR3L - 1600 MHz Dual Channel Support (Core processors)

Supports up to 16 GB of RAM in the following configurations: 16384 MB total system memory ● (8192 × 2) or (4096 × 2) (No 32-bit OS or Windows 7 Home)

If you have an open slot now and could theoretically remove the unique 4 GB in place module and install 2 x 8 GB 16 total or add a second 4 GB for 8 (my best advice). You have a "Core" (an i7) If you have 2 slots.

Replacement memory is a MAJOR chore, requiring the removal of the motherboard. See p. 75 of the manual. If you need assistance.

    Hello

You can install any combination of RAM you want. It's your laptop.

However, HP has released the amount of RAM that the motherboard and BIOS support and you are aware of it.

You will have better results in your experiences if you install only the modules of memory capacity.

You can be the first person to try two 8 GB modules and report success, and on the other hand, if you think that it didn't work.

Remember that there is no guarantee that your laptop will boot into Windows with 12 or 16 GB installed.

BTW... There is no 6 GB memory modules manufactured.

    Best regards
