  What happens when you try?  Make sure you drag the icon image and not the text of the name.

  If it still doesn't work there are some registry changes that can try to alleviate the problem.  But because the changes to the registry are tedious and dangerous, I recommend to leave the system to repair it for you.  Here's how:
  1. Type of restore in the search box of the start menu to find and open to restore system files and settings from a restore point.
  2. Click Next, choose a date before the problem started, then click Next once more.

  • This process only takes around 2 minutes and only restores your system files/settings: it will not affect any of your files, documents, photos, emails, or anything else.

  SITUATION:

  Yesterday I plugged my Macbook (13 "early 2006) to a"certified refurbished"card I bought it in case I ever needed replacement.  This morning, my speakers Logitech from emitting a buzzing, but it disappeared when I disconnected the.  Then after that I had worked for about 20 minutes, Word for Mac 2008 started to work very slowly.  Fortunately (I thought), I have always set Word to register automatically once per minute and had saved the document several times manually anyway.

  Don't know what was going on, I saved the doc once and tried to quit Word normally, but everything was so slow that I knew I was in trouble.  I couldn't get to "Force quit" in the Finder or get the slider to make a restart (the cursor moved but Finder did not), so finally I forced a stoppage.

  When the computer has restarted, I was hoping that at least if the document had not been recorded when I pressed on congratulate + S, I could get it back to automatic recovery.  However, when I open the document again, not only had not he been saved, but nothing of all the work I had done since starting to work 20 minutes earlier had been saved or (although I definitely checked him at least 4 times, including just before trying to quit smoking).  In addition, the 2008 Auto Recovery folder is now empty.  Other Office programs that I use seem to work normally.

  I have copies of what I started with (I save to Dropbox on a stick every time I stopped to work and every night with SuperDuper/passport), so it was not a disaster, except that I really want to recover the work I've done.  I went into the preferences of Word and saw that "Autosave" was always "every minute" but "Always make a backup copy of" has been disabled, so I checked it - but of course will not recover my lost files.  I then went to the typed Word document something again, click Save (File menu this time), you leave the file and reopened; the change I had made had been recorded.   3. can you Word 2008 suddenly became incompatible with OS 10.6.8? Or could the new adapter did BONES 10.6.8 (Word, Finder, etc.) crash AND destroyed existing AutoRecover documents?  (I had not looked into the record of automatic recovery for a while, but I'm sure there are a few in there!)

  4. where are all these "Works Word files" I always saw? Don't know what they were for, but I can't now.

  5. Why does Word not only disappear all the existing documents of ASR, but also stop save the custom keyboard + S?

  Hi, I have a problem about the last good known Configuration. my computer has an initial problem and I managed to get rid of this by copying the file hal.dll in my windows XP cd. but to cut the long story short, now everytime I turn on my computer, it loads a different (or perhaps old/incorrect) configuration of windows and that the default configuration of windows has a problem and I put the cpu and the new. in order to ensure that it loads correctly, I have to press F8, choose last known good configuration and choose the right configuration. I do this whenever I start my computer now. I wonder if there is a way to remove the incorrect configuration or set the right configuration default so that I don't have to keep hitting F8 every time I start my computer?   It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

  I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.
