HP15-f100dx: upgrading to improve game performance.

Hey everybody,

Recently I got this laptop for Christmas. I like a lot all around for PC Game Console. The problem I encounter is especially on WoW. I ran the system through systemrequirementslab.com (the can you run this section) and he told me that I had the minimum requirements to run. For a few days he worked in the phenomenal, but more recently the game slows down to a crawl until it takes 15 minutes before I got two minutes of movement. Is that all I can do to upgrade my computer laptop and better video games work?

Hello

Not much you can do in terms of price/performance with the following specifications:

    I'm running a Toshiba L300-129 and I want to know if I can improve my processor.

    If so, what upgrade options I have? I use my laptop for games, rather, I need extra CPU for music, produce software that I use. (Cubase5) The upgrade of the processor will be a significant performance increase for my software?

    The software works very well, but I am limited in the amount of plug-INNS (VST)
    I can use before the program crashes due to the processing overhead (ASIO).

    Would appreciate help.

    > I want to know if I can improve my processor.
    Well, CPU can be removed from the motherboard and can be replaced but it s not official supported. This means that no one can guarantee that this notebook would be stable after an upgrade.

    > Processor upgrade will be a significant performance increase for my software?
    No, certainly not. Of course a stronger CPU would give more power, but you won't see a performance gain. In addition, please note that the stronger CPU produce more heat dissipation which leads to the highest temperature and this may affect the functionality of the laptop.

    In General, the new processor must be compatible with the chipset of the motherboard.
    So, if you really want to upgrade the processor (I don t recommend) then you have to check what chipset your laptop support and check the support for other processors.

    There's not much to do. You have the graphics card AMD HD 8570 M with video memory dedicated. It's in the middle of the spectrum game is in question. Much better than most computers laptops but much less powerful than a true game machine. Just keep the current drivers is all. Lower Visual effects. There is no possible upgrade for the hardware.

  • Upgrade Vista 32 and 64 for the recognition of additional memory and game performance

    I have a question for the computer.  I have a HP Pavilion Elite m9040n who has Windows Vista 32 - bit SP2 with 3 GB of memory.  From what I've been able to determine, the 32-bit version doesn't recognize up to 3.5 GB of memory and I need to install the 64 bit version of Windows Vista for additional memory can be installed AND recognized.  This system comes with the Core 2 Quad Q6600 (K) 2.4 GHz, at 1 066 MHz front side BUS and Socket 775.

    My question - would be upgrade to Windows Vista 64-bit and install another 4 GB for a total of 7 GB of extra memory for increased game performance.  Also, I have a graphics program which because of some image sizes (up to 96 inches - 19200 pixel everywhere) program that the bombs on me with "out of memory" messages.  I play World of Warcraft and Starcraft 2 right now.

    Thank you.

    In your case a newer graphics card improve performance much more compared to buying new RAM. You can then add more RAM. "A programmer is just a tool that converts the caffeine in code" Deputy CLIP - http://www.winvistaside.de/

  • How to improve the performance of the Intel X 3100 on Satellite L300

    Hello everyone.

    First of all, I don't know if this is an appropriate place to post this thread here or no, but I would like to share with you the experience relating to the improvement of Intel X 3100 (GMA965).

    As we know, there is no driver is good for this chipset from Intel for the moment, especially on VIsta.
    This improvement is made by editing the registry of Intel driver.

    * Steps: *.
    * 1 * open run (Windows + R)
    * 2 * enter Regedit
    * 3 * open the subfolder: * HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contr ol\Video\ *.
    * 4 * from there you'll see lots of subfolders in video, open each one until you see the folder * 0000 * with + _3DMark03.exe +.
    (For example, my is {HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contr ol\Video\ {B5990899-FBCB-45E1-B0B0 *} and reg DWord _3Dmark03.exe lies in two subfolders * 0000 * and * 0001 *})
    * 5 * in * 0000 * and * 0001 *, create two new * DWORD format: * _software.exe* and * ~ software.exe*, value = 1 (hexadecimal). Here, * software * represents the name of the program you want to accelerate as * _photoshop.exe* and * ~photoshop.exe*
    * 6 * in these files, search for * GFX_Options * and change its value to * 1 *.
    * 7 * restart your computer to activate GFX
    * 8 * repeat step 4 to add more programs you want

    Other updates for the drivers are under developed. However, this method will help you to speed up your computer performance with + heavy + graphical software required. I got double FPS on some software on my Toshiba L300 using this method such as Corel, WarcraftIII and Titan Quest (24-32 fps measurement by Fraps)

    Hope it's useful for everyone.
    Best wishes

    J W Stuart You can check if you have the latest graphics driver installed. This may help a bit, but as mentioned Palcouk you must update the card to get the best scores.

    Note: The 2D under-score graphics are not as important as the score of the game if you are in the games.

  • increase game performance

    Hi all

    Game performance increase by ReadyBoost in Windows technology?

    ReadyBoost provides an additional cache that allows you to read data from your hard drive faster than the hard drive itself. It is not a 'memory RAM', but it can be used to unload your system RAM from similar to caching techniques if the amount of available RAM is low. On the other hand, using an external USB device operations are significantly slower that operations within the actual system memory, so memory problems on game performance should be addressed by increasing the system RAM.

    Two observations: I tried ReadyBoost with 1.5 GB of RAM system and did not notice any improvement (maybe even some decrease in performance because of the additional operations of unloading on the USB device). With 8 GB of RAM, the most gourmet of memory games are rarely more than 3 GB, so there is no need of 'tricks '.

    Wrote BossDweebe, gives another aspect: 'Memory' for the games includes both large and largely independent, video memory and system memory. Memory system provides the data read / write to the hard disk, video memory (on the GPU / video card) allows to treat by the GPU calculations faster. You cannot accelerate the VRAM by increasing the system RAM and vice versa.

  • Satellite A200/W00 - abandoned game performance

    I have a laptop Toshiba A200/W00.
    It has 32 bit Vista Home Premium installed on it, a 2.2 gHz Core 2 Duo processor, 2 GB of RAM and an index of performance of 4.7.
    It has two hard drives of 160 GB in it.

    Several months ago I had problems with my laptop which made me resort to having to run my recovery disks to bring the laptop to default values. This bothers me not at all, as everything I had on it was recoverable.

    This recovery wiped only my HDD 'hand', leaving the other completely intact and works perfectly, all this that was on it was always there, etc.

    After I had reinstalled, updated my laptop completely (running DirectX 10 as opposed to the 11 that I had before), there has been a noticeable drop in performance in my games.

    The games that I could run easily before no longer work. I used to be able to play Assassin Creed on parameters almost at the maximum and play Unreal Tournament 3 on smaller settings without a single problem. But trying to play these games now, they usually freeze and crash when I try to play them. An other ways I noticed a drop in performance was in the Warcraft 3 game with friends, playing DotA.

    My laptop used to load at the same exact time as laptop from my friend and now mine takes about twice as long as it used to load up. And to add on top of that: I bought a laptop a few years older than mine as my Toshiba loaded faster early last year.

    If someone would get to know what may have reduced the performance of my laptop and can help me, I would be very grateful. Thank you.

    In many cases a slow game performance is caused by a wrong or old graphics driver.
    So is that you have updated your graphics driver? You can find it on the Toshiba site.

    In addition, you must install the latest version of DirectX.
    Visit the Microsoft Web site to download and make sure you have Service Pack 1 installed.

    Everything right now that s what I can say.

    I own a Macbook pro mid 2012. Now I want to increase the RAM of 4 GB to 8 GB, please suggest if this update will help me to improve my performance to macbook.

    It will help in cases where the applications require more than 4 GB of RAM.  Otherwise, there will be no noticeable difference.  If you really want to increase the speed, an SSD is the best option.  They cost about 3 x's + more than a traditional HDD of same capacity...

    How can I improve the performance of my compaq presario V2000, its very slow!

    According to many things (specifications, you have now installed vs the programs he came originally with programs, etc.)-it may or may not work better that ever he does now.  However, in terms of nothing other than the software and others on the subject - there are some things you can do to optimize performance.

    Search for malware:

    Download, install, execute, update and perform analyses complete system with the two following applications:

    Remove anything they find.  Reboot when necessary.  (You can uninstall one or both when finished.)

    Search online with eSet Online Scanner.

    The less you have to run all the time, most things you want to run will perform:

    Use Autoruns to understand this all starts when your computer's / when you log in.  Look for whatever it is you do not know using Google (or ask here.)  You can hopefully figure out if there are things from when your computer does (or connect) you don't not need and then configure them (through their own built-in mechanisms is the preferred method) so they do not - start using your resources without reason.

    You can download and use Process Explorer to see exactly what is taking your time processor/CPU and memory.  This can help you to identify applications that you might want to consider alternatives for and get rid of all together.

    Do some cleaning and dusting off this hard drive:

    You can free up disk space (will also help get rid of the things that you do not use) through the following steps:

    Windows XP should take between 4.5 and 9 GB * with * an Office suite, editing Photo software, alternative Internet browser (s), various Internet plugins and a host of other things installed.

    If you are comfortable with the stability of your system, you can delete the uninstall of patches which has installed Windows XP...

    You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...

    When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

    -Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
    -Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
    -Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

    You can control the amount of space your system restore can use...

    1. Click Start, right click my computer and then click Properties.
    2. click on the System Restore tab.
    3. highlight one of your readers (or C: If you only) and click on the button "settings".
    4 change the percentage of disk space you want to allow... I suggest moving the slider until you have about 1 GB (1024 MB or close to that...)
    5. click on OK. Then click OK again.

    You can control the amount of space used may or may not temporary Internet files...

    Empty the temporary Internet files and reduce the size, that it stores a size between 64 MB and 128 MB...

    -Open a copy of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
    -Select TOOLS - Internet Options.
    -On the general tab in the section 'Temporary Internet files', follow these steps:
    -Click on 'Delete the Cookies' (click OK)
    -Click on "Settings" and change the "amount of disk space to use: ' something between 64 MB and 128 MB. (There may be many more now.)
    -Click OK.
    -Click on 'Delete files', then select "Delete all offline content" (the box), and then click OK. (If you had a LOT, it can take 2 to 10 minutes or more).
    -Once it's done, click OK, close Internet Explorer, open Internet Explorer.

    You can use an application that scans your system for the log files and temporary files and use it to get rid of those who:
