HP2000 Notebook PC, model #E0M17UA replacement #ABA CPU

Simple question, I wonder if HP2000 Notebook PC, #E0M17UA #ABA model with an AMD processor is soldered to the card or if it is replaceable and what part number or a catalog can therefore I was use to locate a replacement. the 1.3 ghz processor is not enough for my wife and I would like to replace by 2.3 or something similar.

Here is the Service Manual:

Manual

See Pages 16-17. Each different processor option has its own motherboard part number which means that the processor is welded to the card. You will also see in the instructions to replace the fan/radiator. Intel models have socketed CPUs and the AMDs are welded.

You might want to consider an upgrade from 4 to 8 GB or a SSD drive if the better half complains about the laptop is slow. I can't blame him. There are mobile phones with processors better than the E300.

The A6-5200 to 2 ghz is the best motherboard AMD processor for this model. If you can replace the CPU, you could install a different motherboard. It is part number 730573-501. $311 of H.P.:

    Thanks for responding.

Yes! You have the APU A8 - 5545M

    You can install this:

    AMD A10 - 5745M (2.1 GHz/2.9 GHz, 4 MB L2, 1333 MHz DDR3L), quad core, 25 W Max DDR3L - 1333

Here is the service manual you'll need to do the replacement. It is not a simple thing, I want to clarify.

    Repair manuals

It is a faint but noticeable performance bump. On these models, the video is embedded in the processor so upgrading to the A10 will result to install a slightly faster both side video system. It runs more quickly a few fps on games.

Oh, and it's not a matter of just replacing a processor. On this model, the CPU is soldered to the motherboard, need to replace the whole motherboard. This is the part you need:

    AMD A10 - 5745M (2.9 GHz/2.1 GHz, 4 MB L2, 1333 MHz DDR3L, quad core, 25 W) for use with Windows Standard HP Pavilion 17 Notebook PC

The Board of Directors is available for about $175 more shipping on eBay:

Thank you for your attention, I expect to have a response as soon as possible to soon.

    Hello

At first, I must say that it is user in the forum and here you can chat with others who have laptops Toshiba and want to share their own experiences. Unfortunately here you won't get official Toshiba support.

Generally, replacement of the CPU is very delicate issue and quite often discussed on this forum. The fact is that Toshiba and other manufacturers of portable computers do not support these updates.
Toshiba has offered a few document on this matter and you can read it on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB9401AX0001R01.htm

Unfortunately I can't provide accurate information on the CPU that you can use, but I assume that you have the new laptop model so CPU upgrade makes no sense to me. It's quite risky upgrade that will void your warranty. What you can try is to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and seek advice. They should have valid information about hardware compatibility.

    Hello

Unfortunately you can not replace the CPU existing with a "new dual core CPU" because your system is not designed for dual-core cpu´s.
There are many arguments why not replace the cpu, the most important argument is that the dual core cpu mechanically and electrically fit on the motherboard.

So, if you want a faster machine then buy a new one because you won´t have additional options to update your computer.

    Sorry, but that's all :/

    See you soon

  • HP a1250n, radeon xpress 200 question after replacing the CPU, Standard VGA Graphics goes not down

Recently, I messed up my CPU and bought a replacement (exact same kind). I am running windows 7 ultimate and for about 6 months prerequisites with no problems. After replacing the CPU I get intermittent lock ups, sometimes with a small portion of the screen flashes. I say intermittent but at least every 15-20 minutes. Different programs, different habits, but still the screen freezes.

I went in and deleted the driver under graphics cards, pick a 'completely remove the option' - it after restarting the system on its own charged for a Standard VGA Graphics Adapter and since there is then no more accidents. Of course the functionality is not as complete, large icons and such, but it works.

If it certainly seems to point to a driver conflict I think. But for this machine, is there ever any single Vista Windows 7 driver. My skills are not so, but I'm moving.

    Any guidance?

    Hello

Yes, your PC has integrated graphics controller: ATI Radeon XPress 200, we don't find drivers compatible Windows 7 ATI.

The BEST OPTION: Buy a video card, then insert it into slot PCI Express 16 on the motherboard to better display and multimedia performance with Windows 7 to a value using else, it looks just like Windows XP

    Hello Rob

I agree with Johnny. You have probably damaged the mainboard. Replacement of the CPU part of the very sensitive laptop and most people make mistake and CPU burn out. You are a technician or is the replacement of material your hobby?

  • Satellite C670d - 11 k - can I replace the CPU?

Can I replace the CPU on my 11K satellite C670D help please

    Hello

The chipset is AMD A50M, so you can ONLY use AMD processors that are supported by the chipset.
But it is still open question whether the BIOS would support the new processor.

Since updates are not official supported by any laptop manufacturer, you will not find this info anywhere...
If these updates are at your own risk, and no one would be able to tell if the laptop would be stable after this upgrade the CPU.

First of all there if the new processor would be compatible with the BIOS.
Second, you should know that a plu CPU produce more heat and this would lead to overheating.
Are you sure that your laptop would deal with the new CPU?
    I don t think so

In any case, I found this page:

  • Possible to replace the CPU on Satellite A200 - 1 H 2?

Can I replace my cpu (Toshiba Satellite A200 - 1 H 2) by another? Because I know that some laptops can do that.

    Hi mate,

first of all, if you want to lose your warranty, then replace it. And I could give you more than 10 arguments why not do it because if you´re not familiar with disassembly of laptops and without machine´s hardware information you cannot exchange it.

So generally it s is NOT possible, perhaps with other brands but I think that other brands manufacturers do the same thing as toshiba and will revocate the guarantee of the machine if you open your machine and you try to modify the materials 'wired' inside your laptop.

    Welcome them
