Hello Travis2626, you have the options to turn power on. You could check the Power Options in the Control Panel, Power Options and make sure that they are set as desired.

Just a thought.

  • Monitor question: is constant ripple read something difficult - if this isn't a problem with my graphics card, what else could he be >

It is difficult to describe. I run XP and later that yesterday to fuel my system, I noticed that the monitor was something different for the first time - the perifrial on my hp2011x monitor field had developed these mirco-wave that makes viewing anything a bit difficult. Thinking that it was temporary, I just moved everything I was working on the center of the screen - which remained essentially stable. After having finished up last night, I turned off.

Today, however, it's another story. Now, the whole screen was made in such a way that everything is now visually corrugated - which seems that ripples are moving up and down in a horizontal jet across the entire screen. And this annoying effect is much more important, making it difficult for the eye to read anything for a long time.

What could be the problem here?
Thinking it might be a problem of monitor, I borrowed a friends monitor - exactly like mine, but the effect continues.
If not, a sign that the graphics card is out, what else could be the problem?

    Thanks for your help.
