Hp4100 and the mavericks

Just mounted a Duplexer for my lj4100 but I can't get my iMac to see - printer works normally otherwise. To the help of the mavericks and an Ethernet connection. Can anyone help?

Hi Silverado66,

Sorry it seems that this was lost in the ether for a bit.  I do not have a LJ4100, but I have another printer with duplexer option.  Here's the process I used so that this option is seen by the driver in the Mavericks,

Go to System preferences/printers and Scanners,

Click the printer in the left window, and then click the Options button and supplies in the right window.

In the window that opens, click the Options tab and check that the box is checked for "two accessory sides of impression.

That should do it.

What is your e-mail client?  You should be able to control (on the right) - click on a photo in e-mail and elect to iPhoto import on the shortcut menu that appears.  If this isn't an option, just drag the photo on the desk and from there to the iPhoto in the Dock icon.

You know that iPhoto can no longer order any printed products, namely books, cards and calendars, printing products, Apple Store, right?  Also if you try to use the location of iPhoto feature it crash like iPhoto 9.4.3 and earlier, use the servers of Google Maps and they are no longer available to Apple.

  • Notes - cannot sync between El Capitan and the Mavericks

    Hi guys!

Recently, I decided to recover from the El Capitan to the Mavericks on my MacBook Pro mid-2012 (I had a strange problem with Mac freeze from time to time, especially watching the videos). Unfortunately now I can't synchronize my notes with my other devices - MacBook Air with El Capitan and the iPhone 4S with iOS 9. I guess the reason is that the notes were converted after the latest OS X and iOS update. Is it possible to go back to the old version of notes (before conversion) to see them also on the Mavericks? Now I see that some old notes from prior updates system, whitch is super weird, because I can't see them on El Capitan and iOS 9.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

You can't "flip" with your current account to iCloud.

You must create another Mavericks iCloud only for notes and transfer your notes on this new iCloud account.

  • Dual Boot El Capitan and the Mavericks?

Currently I got a MacBook Pro retina 13inch end of 2013 OS X El Capitan. For various reasons, I need to be able to dual boot my mac with OS X Mavericks (I have to run the suite Adobe CS6 for College) but the same time, I want to be able to keep in front of the new software updates and use cc creative cloud at home, would it possible for me to do this or at least get off at Mavericks? The MacBook is not new, and therefore does not have a warranty so I don't have to worry to invalidate even though I'd like to keep hold of my data.

    Thank you

In theory that Macbook can be found on the Mavericks, since it was initially delivered with the Mavericks, but not the same disc:

My guess is that you can try this:

    a. make backups of backups backups, TimeMacine at least one backup.

    b. connect an empty external drive: Diskutility opened and partition: partition 1: table of Partition GUID and Mac OS extended (journaled).

Run CarbonCopyCloner on your startup disk and clone the boot to the external disk, including the recovery Partition.

Restart after that, while now the Alt (option) key: the startup list will come to the top, choose the newly formed external to start.

    If everything works this external:

    c. stop the machine again once, start it up while pressing CMD + R + Alt (option): This starts the InternetRecovery partition: choose erase and install the OS (original). This should install the Mavericks.

Restart the mac: it should be in the Mavericks now. Install apps for the Mavericks. Restore your data to user for these applications.

    (d) given that both drives are bootable, you can now start all holding the key Alt (option) and choose the one you want.

I'm not really sure that I forgot something, but I'm going to ask some people to enter and contribute. Wait until you are satisfied.

  • P1102w printer driver in the Lion of the mountains or the Mavericks

I get conflicting info about whether Laserjet Pro p1102w will be printed with the Lion of the mountains or the Mavericks. In a support article titled "install the printer on a Mac Running OS X v10.8 (only for network connections) Mountain Lion".

    It stipulates that:

"This document explains how to set up your printer on a network with AirPrint. Update HP drivers and software for Lion of mountain are not available for your printer. »

You can also read on the data sheet:

    Operating systems supported

    Hello

The drivers for the Mountain Lion and the Mavericks are accessible to the general public via Apple Software Update.

If you want to use your wireless printer and the printer is already connected to your wireless network, restart your Mac, run Software Update, click the sign under Print & Scan / printers & scan and add the printer.

For USB or connect the pritner to your wireless network, connect the printer to your Mac with a USB port and confirm a prompt to get the latest drivers.

To set up a new wireless connection under OS X Lion v10.7 > Option two: change your existing connection to a wireless connection type in the following document:

  • New facility for the Mavericks and Apps and recover backup from Time Machine?

I 10.9.5 and backup on the time Machine: the system is slow and I would setup Mavericks and Apps from scratch.

I downloaded the installation from the App Store, and I'll do a USB bootable pen.

    My problem is the following:

"I have maybe picked up documents, Photos, movies, and the library of the backup in the Time Machine by automatic iTunes method or I have to do it manually?"

Thank you much for the help

When installation wizard runs after installation, if you are recovering your user, who must recover what you listed provided they are in the user photos, music and movies files.

Yes, according to iCloud Drive FAQ - Apple Support:

You cannot use iCloud Drive on your devices until you update your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch to the latest version of iOSand your Mac to the latest version of Mac OS X. If you already upgraded and you need to use a device that does not support iCloud by car, you can still work on your documents locally, but they will not be aware of the documents on your devices up to date, or on iCloud.com.

In addition, the system requirements for iCloud - Apple Support should be useful.

  • Last Magic Mouse 2 is not compatible with the Mavericks 10.95 - and that stinks

It is not so much a question as an expression of stunned disappointment.  My old mouse Magic went kablooey, and so I got a new.  Unfortunately when I the paired with my MacPro 2012, running the Mavericks 10.95 (sorry Apple, you have not matched the Mavericks speed and performance with Yosemite and El Capitan) I discovered that features the touch like scrolling and swiping has not worked.

After an hour to read the little booklet that comes with the mouse, zap the PRAM, reset the SMC and usually ask myself? *  I watched the Magic Mouse box and found the answer in 3 grey dots on white type: requires OS 10,11 or higher.  All right.  Mea culpa, caveat emptor, blah blah.  I should have read through the entire page of the Magic Mouse on the Apple Store Web site, but I already have the product so don't figure there were many new take into account.

However, it seems strange to me that a completely necessary peripherals does not work with a BONE from a few years ago.

There are loyal customers (30 years of computer science and I have never used or owned a PC) who use your products as professional (I'm a sales manager of creation) and, for reasons that go beyond taste, prefer your earlier and faster OS.  Apple wants to move the herd along for many understandable reasons.  I do advertising.  I get it.  Offers new features and the "improvements" that Miss on users who refuse to put up-to-date is perfectly logical.  But prevents them from having a functional Apple mouse goes too far.  It will encourage strong armament and it stinks.

In light of Apple's strategy, it seems pretty ironic that the same company that once derided the PC world as thinkers authoritarian group straight out of Orwell is curve at this level to get its users to conform to his version of the future.  What the * happened to "Think Different"?

Good question, I guess, and I can only opine; as you know, we are here just volunteers.

The question is... when a company changes its products.   As I see it, different operating systems have developed over the years at a huge pace, such that cannot not could be foreseen four years ago.   So the Magic Mouse 1 was fine for the moment but did not have the ability to adapt to meet the current needs.     So what does Apple?   It must be a new mouse that will respond to current needs and anticipate the needs for some time in the future.

You can still buy the old MM1, although you might have to go hunting.   And of course, you can take the old one back if it was purchased less than 14 days ago in most countries and 28 days ago in the United Kingdom and most European countries, I believe.

I hope you get over your troubles.

  • Can we download and install the Mavericks?

I'm running the mountain (10.8.5) Lion on my Mac mini and have so far resisted the upgrade of my OS because I have some expensive software that does not run on the latest OS. Now, I discovered that there is work on the Mavericks, but all I can find on Apple's site is an update of the Mavericks, which requires that one has already installed Mavericks. Is it possible that I can go from Cougar to the Mavericks?

I regularly back up my entire system with Time Machine and also with Carbon Copy Cloner. If Mavericks installation involves deleting everything on my hard drive, a backup performed while I was still running Mountain Lion would allow me to restore the contents of my HD in Mavericks?

Apple has removed the Mavericks and Yosemite from the App Store.

Only upgrade your option is El Capitan.

  • I BOUGHT A KEYBOARD BRAND NEW AND THE LINE FROM THE TOP OF THE KEYS ARE BROKEN! VOLUME/PLAY/PAUSE - MAVERICKS OSX 10.9.5

I just bought a brand new "Magic Keyboard" and the last row of keys DO NOT WORK. I'm outraged and absolutely do not update to OSX Yosemite or El Capitan. It is a piece of hardware that does not work as expected.

    ] How can I fix?

Stop SCREAMING. Apple isn't here, only volunteers trying to help people to get unraged.

The magic keyboard requires OS X El Capitan 10,11 or later version. That is printed on the box and said in the Apple Store online, just as it is for the Magic Mouse II. If you still use OS X Maverick and remains adamant about not upgrading to El Capitan, then just take the keyboard for a refund.

  • HP Scan does not work after last update Mac with the Mavericks and HP software was last updated

Hi, I have a printer D110a and I recently installed Mac OS X Mavericks. After you have installed the Mavericks, I gave my Mac a printer HP Software Update. Now, when I go to the HP scanning application, I get a message that reads: is missing or damaged software one or more components required by HP Scan is missing or damaged. Please reinstall the software for your HP device. What should I do?

    Hi groberts619,

Unfortunately the software, you get the update of the printer software does not include the application of scanning HP - only print and scan drivers.  I just checked out your product and it does not appear that he has plans to release a scanning HP Installer updated for this model.

On the Mavericks seems, your best option will be to use the Apple's Image Capture scanning application.  You will find this application in the folder/Applications.  You also have the ability to scan using the preview.  Look in the file menu to make the command import from a scanner.
