HP6520: HP6520 black jet port is clogged

Black does not print, printer, cleaning programs cannot eliminate the blocking of jet. Can I use a solvent?

Other users have had the same problem, none of the proposed remedies work for me. 'Cleaning print head' produces a page 'Print the diagnostic quality' with black letters made using cyan, magenta and yellow inks. The black box has a black border, but otherwise empty.

The ink tanks are legitimate (and very expensive), I removed a drop of black ink of the screen above the clogged Harbor, ink flows.

My attempts to get this thing will use one-third of a whole new set of color inks. I did what I should have originally, I replaced it with a 5520 that uses the same inks if, at least, I didn't not lose that. I think that this will be my last HP printer.

Welcome to the Community Forum of HP.

It's just one of those things - you must have all five cartridges to print with that printer.

    Experience:

The Photo black is not just for the pictures - this type of black is "jet black" and is used for special types of printing needs "black-black" including pictures, graphics and photos.

Black regular print gray-black, gray, mixtures with other colors and prints some blackish fonts.

You bought into this concept when you purchased this printer - maybe - not deliberately, but so much.  Additional 'Photo Black' is one of the reasons for this printer is capable of reproducing really excellent color photographic Images.

    The facts about Photo Black

The following is provided by our own Provost Expert Bob_Headrick .

The document explains how to use the ordinary black and photo black ink cartridges used in the 7520 Photosmart and printers Photosmart 7525.

The smallest cartridge is the photo cartridge, used for printing of dark areas when the photo paper is selected in the driver, or 'automatic' paper selection is enabled, the media type is detected as photo paper.  It can also be used in some cases when you print graphics on plain paper.  If you are printing on plain paper make sure "plain paper" is selected in the selection of the type of media for the driver.

  • HP Officejet 6500 Wireless print with black ink

HP Officejet Wireless 6500 won't print with black ink. This printer as worked perfectly for years. Now, all of a sudden, he leaves by using black ink. All other colors are working very well. Any ideas?

I tried several cleanings and reset by pressing on # and 3 when turning the power on. Nothing works, but the ink levels are declining due to all the cleanings trying to get this thing to work.

    I have it!

I have searched all over the internet for a solution to this problem. Some people have the right idea, but not how to implement it.

Problem: Black ink doesn't print all colors print but not

Reason: for black print head is clogged.

    Implementation of solution:

Set 920 ink jet cartridges in cartridge print head which is held in place by small arm on the right side of the ink cartridges.

    1. remove all the ink cartridges. I didn't want them to dry, so I wrapped them in plastic wrap.

    2. lift the arm and remove the print head cartridge.

3 rinse the WHOLE print HEAD under a stream of water. I know it sounds crazy, but it will work. I thought it was best to rinse all the (not only black) because if I did not then the ink left any color would dry up and clog in any case!

    4. I leave the printhead to dry for about an hour, BUT IT DOES NOT WORK. When I handed the printhead my 6500 gave me an error message that it could not find the head of printing or something like that. I thought I ruined which was the risk I was willing to take. I went online and searched for a replacement at low prices. I immediately ordered it. But I have excluded the old printhead to dry just in case it is water which made it unnecessary.

    5. four days later I received a new printhead. Before I opened the package I tried the old an new AND IT WORKED! First, I installed the old print head cartridge, then each of the inks. After having done that, the 6500 did the rest. He went on a very long print head cleaning and alignment. He gave me the message "Please wait. Printer preparation occurring. »

    6. when the cleaning and alignment end it automatically prints a test page. It didn't look perfect the first time, but it was close. The message I got was, 'success. Alignment with success. Recycle or discard the printed page. Press Ok to continue. "The problem was that the ink cartridges were emptied of this whole process, even though they had about half of the ink when I removed them left. I changed the ink cartridges and did a cleaning and a level 2 cleaning and alignment. It worked!

    7. because I could not return the new printhead that I am now in case of failure of the print head for another reason.

I don't know how long it will take to dry print head after rinsing but I know works of 4 days. Perhaps a few days would have been sufficient. If someone does and less time please let others know here.

If you don't have success using my method, at least you know it will solve a new printhead. I paid about $35 for a new.

    Good luck!!

  • Epson Workforce 1100 do not print black ink!

Printer will not print black, but the color is fine.  I tried to clean the print head on the alignment of heads 4 times, 4 times and nothing works.  Ink volumes decrease the ink goes somewhere.  Tried to contact their support, but out of warranty by a few months.  They asked me to verify the date of purchase to continue any support and could not find it.

So, tried once or twice more to clean and align printead, always the same.  What is the jet print head clogged or the evil printehead?

Have you tried to change the cartridge?

  • Photosmart HP 6510: Black print failed

I have a HP Photosmart 6510, which will not print black - pages of text, sound as if they are printing, but the page comes out blank. Watch as the color test page, but not black.  There is no error message.  Black print cartridge is full and I have applied all recommended maintenance procedures.  I'm going to disassemble the printer (which is out of warranty) and the print head to check the visible obstructions before deciding to give up completely and use my backup of Canon.  Can anyone suggest any other remedies or advice on removal of the print head?  Thank you.

Thanks for your suggestions.  I removed and cleaned the print head, but the problem remains unresolved.  I did more research and decided to go deeper into the printer to access tubes empty below the print head.  I couldn't find all the instructions more complex procedure on the HP site or elsewhere online, so most of the work was intuitive.  I managed to remove the 'well' below the print head complete with 4 vacuum tubes, and it was immediately obvious to me that the black ink tube was clogged.  I went to clean the whole by immersing in hot water and using a syringe to flush out the tubes.  I cleaned too much ink frozen since sponges of drain that receives the excess ink from the vacuum system (no doubt mostly print head last cleaning operations).  After drying of the parts and reassembling the printer, everything is back to the fully functional State.

I was amazed at the amount of vitriol expressed by users of the forum to HP for what seems to have been a recurring problem with these printers.  It seems incredibly useless to throw a sound mechanical printer because of a dried ink problem, but that's what many did the cost of 2-3 hours time technician to fix the problem simply cannot be justified. It is unfortunate that HP provides no instructions for technical people like me who are willing to undertake their own maintenance out of warranty HP products.

  • K5400dn - Depleted ink Message

I have a K5400dn printer connected to a laptop HP Pavilion under Windows Vista Home Premium.  I have not used the printer in a month.  Before its last use, magenta, yellow and black ink cartridges (all 88 s) were all low reports, but not impoverished.  I turned on the printer today, and the magenta cartridge reports that "depleted" (the message) and I can not print.  I replaced it with a new 88XL magenta, but the message would not go far.  Just for the heck of it, I replaced the yellow and black with the cartridges HP 88XL as well, and they are now reporting 100% full.  Yet, the magenta cartridge reports depleted.

Before you go out and buy a magenta ink cartridge, does anyone have any ideas as to why this might have happened?  I never had problems of replacement cartridges on this printer before, even if I never went so long without it is used.  I wonder if perhaps the cartridge port is clogged or something with dry ink and that can cause the error to report.

    Thank you.

Well, I chatted with Ramiro in support today, and we had the problem solved.  It seems that the 'trick' is to do a hard reset.

    1. turn off the printer.

    2. unplug all cables including the power.

    3. remove all the ink cartridges.

4 press and hold the power button for 35 seconds.

    5. reconnect the power supply.

    6. switch on the back of the printer.

    7. after that happening by its initial vivos (noise stops), insert all printer cartridges and close the door.

    8. once the printer through its alive (the noise stops), hold the Power button, press the Cancel button and then release both buttons (make sure there is paper in the printer). This should print a diagnostic page.

    9 reconnect the computer.

    10. once the printer goes through its final warm-up, everything should work properly.

The hard reset seems to be the key.

  • iPhone 7 doesn't work...

After restoring a backup, my iPhone 7 overheated and then would not power on. I was wondering if anyone else had problems eating or switching on of their 7?

After receiving my black Jet iPhone 7 mailed, I turned and followed the instructions on the screen to activate and restore from a backup on iTunes. 40 minutes later (my previous iPhone was a full 64 GB), the restore is complete, and that I unlocked the phone to find most of my 100 + apps have dimmed and not download. iTunes has shown my complete restoration. I tried to sync the phone and nothing has changed. I noticed that my pictures were disorganized as well. Thinking that something went wrong while I wasn't looking, I decided to do the restore once more. The same exact results and no change. All the time my iPhone 7 had been on the table, I used it. I picked up the phone and felt that it was VERY hot. It comes to my iPhone 4, and it's been hot. I thought I might have a situation of battery "samsung" on my hands, then I hit eject the iPhone on iTunes and unplugged 7. At that moment, I realized that the battery percentage has dropped 30% of then I first connected on my mac. I know that my power cord and mac worked, because I had just used to load and save my iPhone 6 successfully.

Soon, the iPhone 7 has given the "iPhone needs to cool until you can use it. I quickly placed under a fan and kept a safe distance from myself... After 10 minutes, I came back to the phone and it was usable, but still hot. Noticed applications were still gray, and the battery percentage fell even more.

I noticed that the 7 wasn't 10.0.0, while the backup was coming from an iPhone 6 with 10.0.1. Unfortunately, the wifi I used was too slow to immediately update the iPhone 7 to 10.0.1. Feeling frustrated and helpless at 11 pm, I decided to call it a night. I had clicked download only on iTunes earlier, but he had about 4 hours download the 10.0.1 update. Without the phone connected to anything, I turned my iPhone off 7.

The next morning I eagerly woke up to fix my phone, but to my horror, he refused to power on.

An even longer story short, I have tried different methods, talked to Apple Support online and then to the Apple Store. There are lines to buy the iPhone 7 and all the reserves have been reserved, but I was still able to take a walk in the genius bar appointment. In the end, they could not either power on my iPhone and the tests, they ran gave no immediate response. I'm now waiting for the store to call me when they have a replacement, Jet Black is not easy to get...

If all goes well they will soon have one for me! A when they do I'll do the restore with me!

Someone had problems like that? Found a few tweets "iPhone 7 lights" on twitter.

    Things, I am wary of:

    1. my iPhone 6 back came up to 10.0.1, while my iPhone iOS 7 functioned iOS 10.0.0. This could cause a restore without success?

    2. my iPhone 7 has a bad battery that caused heat, discharge and ultimate disappearance.

Your thought #1 seems very logical.  However, I went through the same process with success: I got an iPhone 6s running iOS 10.0.1 I restored a 7 10 iPhone running IOS.  Then, I was able to update the iPhone 7 iOS 10.0.1.

If I have not personally experienced this, I would have thought that your suspicions #1 was on the money.

If you still have the iPhone in your possession, I highly recommend a reset.  On the iPhone 7, because of the new taptic the home button, you reset the power and volume buttons together for 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears.

I currently have a 40 GB hd, but want at least a 160 GB. For now I'm looking at a caviar WD IDE, but the hd said country, and I'm not familiar with that. I'll be able to use this hd in this model? Any help is very appreciated. Thank you in advance.

    Hello:

    Interesting question.

I think you will be OK if you just leave the secondary IDE drive such what and remove the primary IDE drive.

Saves you the SATA hard drive with the SATA port 0 and which would automatically become the boot drive.

You don't need to change the settings that you have left the BIOS settings to their default values.

    Storage options

    SATA Configuration *.

Allows you to choose how the SATA controller and the devices are accessed by the operating system. "Add as a separate controller" is the default option.

Up to 4 PATA and SATA 2 devices are available in this mode. SATA and PATA controllers appear as two separate IDE controllers. Use this option with Win XP and Win 2 K. • SATA 0 is considered primary device SATA 0 • SATA 1 (if any) is considered to be secondary device SATA 0

You don't want your BIOS set to the setting below.

'Replace the primary IDE controller' are another option. Up to 2 PATA and SATA 2 devices are available in this mode. SATA and PATA controllers appear as a manipulator IDE. Use this option with Win 98 and earlier operating systems. • SATA 0 replaces primary peripheral PATA 0 • SATA 1 replaces the primary PATA 1 unit.

You already have a connection to SATA power on the same cable as the power goes on your hard drive. Is this the black connector, but need you a SATA data cable to connect the SATA drive to the small black SATA port on the motherboard.

  • Can I add a second hard drive to an ATC-605-UB11?

I'm about to buy this model and I would like to add a second drive, keep the current hard drive and the optical drive.  Is this possible?  Can I buy additional cables?  The new drive will fit in the chassis, or will I need a mounting hardware?

Some posts have mentioned black and white SATA connectors.  What is the difference?

Yes, you can add an extra HDD or SSD.  Two white sata data ports are SATA 3 (6Gbits/s) and the black sata data port is SATA 2 (3 Gbps).

I would recommend that you purchase an extension to sata power cable:

    http://www.Amazon.com/GP/product/B008ZB50SS?PSC=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00

And a SATA data cable (you don't need a 90 a degree as I - one straight, one would work better):

    http://www.Amazon.com/GP/product/B00552PGC0/ref=s9_topr_hd_bw_g147_i6?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=...

4 holes screws for the existing 3.5 inch HDD mounting are obviously designed for a disk 3,5 '' HARD.

The 4 screw holes for the second disc unit you want to add editing are for one SSD 2.5-inch or 2.5 inch HDD.

I bought a 2.5 inches for support adapter 3.5 inches because I don't have enough close attention in time to realize that the holes line up perfectly for one SSD 2.5.  If you do not need any kind of support if you add a 2.5 SSD ".  Screw you just good to.

BX100 MLC SSD Crucial that I bought and recommended even if any 2.5-inch SSD should work fine even if I do not recommend the BX200 TLC Crucial are:

    http://www.Amazon.com/GP/product/B00RQA6TEI?PSC=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00

I also bought this one to another computer and use as a boot drive for OS.  Works well when you have a more secondary HARD disk.  The price is right, but it's a little on the slow side from a point of view writing SSD.  Boot times are fast.

Here is an example of a 2.5 inch HDD (hard drive) that I * guess * lined up with available screw holes:

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=9SIA2W02KN0922

Just keep in mind that the HARD drive that came with it is a 3.5-inch HARD drive.

Arrows in the photo below represent the locations of the holes 4 screws for the second disc.  (ignore that I have only two screws )

Edit: because the reader of DVD (ODD) is plugged into a SATA 3 white port, you'll want to move it to the available data black SATA port and then use the newly vacant SATA port white for your new SSD or HDD.

  • HP6520 ALL IN ONE PRINTER: BLACK INK WILL NOT PRINT

I TRIED ALL THE PROPOSED SOLUTIONS.  NO WORK FOR ME.  I HAVE TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO RUN THE CLEAN CARTRIDGE HEADS.  SAME RESULT (WASTED A LOT OF VERY EXPENSIVE INK IN THE PROCESS).  ANOTHER USER HAS SUGGESTED TO USE SOLVENT TO CLEAN A CLOGGED INKJET PORT.  I DIDN'T KNOW WHERE REPRESENTATIVE HP APPROVED THAT.  THE PAGE OF DIAGNOSIS THAT PRINTS AFTER HAVING CARRIED OUT THE SYSTEMATIC CLEANING HEAD PRINT BLACK TEXT, BUT THE BOX FOR BLACK PRINTING IS TOTALLY WHITE.  IS THERE ANOTHER SOLUTION TO TRY?  Help!

The printhead on the HP Photosmart 6520 is not designed to be removable by the user.  While you can find messages with information on the withdrawal of the printhead for soaking, it's really not recommended.  If you decide to do this don't forget to read the entire thread, these discussions often end with a printer damaged due to damage or damage to the encoder system, electrical connectors which can make the printer unusable.

You may have already taken the steps of troubleshooting in the paper here, if not go through each of them in order.  Check the vents on the black print cartridge and that it sits correctly.

If the above does not solve the problem you could try manually to clean the printhead, as described in the post here for a different but similar printer.

Note that the printer uses a mixture of color and black inks to print a diagnostic page.  This is so that the information can be read even if black or one or more colors do not work.  Although it may seem from this page your black works that is unfortunately not.  You can simulate this by selecting "Photo paper", as the media type in the driver, it would force the printer to use the same color ink to print black text.
