HTML email question

I have a small question. Do the attributes of links (ie: a: active, a: visited, a: hover, etc.) work in an HTML email?

Not in Gmail or Outlook 2007 as far as I understand. Any other mail client should display. Make sure that of course you are applying your styles online.

    Hello

I create new html e-mails to in dreamweaver for use in a service like constant contact. The service I use is COMF5. They have a rudimentary (but nice) WSYIWYG Editor so that I'm him giving a whirlwind in Dreamweaver.

First of all, I made the mistake of creating a beautiful in CSS, pasted file in the editor and found some divs and info floating around.

I just found an article by an adobe pro on this operation and ZOMG, that help a lot. Here's what I think I underatand and my question:

    1. all is tables, including the background that is created at 98%.

    2. the Organization must be nested tables.

3 attributes are set in the table by the use of the property bar and not to include the creation of css rules.

    4. the only exception is created within the limits of the table of inline styles.

5 rule is to have no CSS sitting at the top of the code in the important document.

My big question at the present time, this is how I can code links to be other than blue and underlined? I would use CSS to do this on my pages.

Thanks in advance of ain for more insight!

    Rob

For the HTML e-mail messages only, you can set styles in thetag and it will get picked up by most e-mail clients.

The tables are very good. But I do not recommend the complex nested tables.  You want to keep things as simple as possible.

CSS Inline rules are perfectly OK.   Background (CSS or HTML) are not supported in Outlook 2007.

  • Image map in html email-text color

I use image maps in html email newsletter and using the tag alt on some images to give a brief description about what the content of the newsletter covers.

The question I have is that the text is in blue color. Can I control this and make it black? I tried a few ideas, but the text remains stubbornly blue... grrr!

    Thank you

    Operating system

It's not worth osgood.  If you really need a text description, type out.  There are too many e-mail clients that make correct tags alt like Gmail, Yahoo Mail, etc.  Just take a look at this Campaign Monitor done research: http://www.campaignmonitor.com/resources/entry/676/how-do-alt-attributes-appear-in-email/ .  But if you really want to change the color of the text on the image alt:

I did not in a while so I don't know the specifics of browsers who honor this more.

  • HTML emails are not displayed. They show just the code. texts emails are not at all. That is what it is?

All of a sudden today my email is displayed correctly. HTML emails simply display the actual html code instead of a graphical display. Texts emails show just a blank page. I changed the display setting to view html messages original, simple html and plain text. None of the settings resets things. All of these emails were visible correctly yesterday.

Anyone got any ideas as to what is happening?

sounds like your index and the data are out of sync. Often the result of anti blocking the quarantine of the entire inbox or update of the index, so there is no mail on the left to view the activity of the virus.

Right click on the folder, select Properties, and then on the button repair.

  • Text of HTML email

There is a built-in, direct way to retrieve the text of an HTML email in plain text?

I read http://www.blackberry.com/knowledgecenterpublic/livelink.exe/fetch/2000/348583/800332/800698/How_To _... but I still get the new String ((byte[]) obj) cast, which is the equivalent raw text of the complete HTML code.

A quick thought would be thrown the Message to a text message and call msg.getPayloadText (), but this seems to be more of a hack than an effective approach.

Any help would be really appreciated on this.

    Thank you!

I want it is: when the body part bp is part of the html body, I want to get it as a text (on the device, this can be done by selecting the item of menu "get Plain Text" in a display of html email). Since the post on this topic by Mark Sohm, I understand that it is possible to do it somehow.

There is no method to convert a HTML BodyParty in plain text.  However, if the e-mail message contains plain text and HTML formats, there will be at least 2 parts of the body of the message.  One will be in HTML, the other plain text format.  The example in the KB in the first post shows how to work with both.

It is possible that only a part of the body was delivered to the BlackBerry handheld.  In this case, you can use the Transport.more method to request that a body part will be downloaded.

    Hello!

    See this KB:

It sounds like you already have the correct settings. But, at the bottom of this KB is a statement about the external link images... If the image is linked to the outside rather that integrated, you will still need to manually get the image.

  • How send the beautiful html email I did I DW?

    Hello

I designed a reagent html email in Dreamweaver and tested in different browsers, iPhone, iPad etc. It looks great and I'm happy. But now I want to send it but can't! OM my mac I open the e-mail-html-page in Safari and select "send as e-mail". It opens the html email in a new email, and everything is on a line to the left. It looks like this:

    "

    T

    h

    I have

    s

    I have

    s

    m

    There

    t

    e

    x

    t

    ..."

I have on my PC, in Outlook, create a new mail and import html pages and here everything is also to the left (but not all of the letters as on my mac". It looks NOT like when I tested it in different browsers.

I also tried to send the sensitive default html email template in Dreamweaver (without changing anything in it), but it also lined up left by the post.

So, now, when I created an email reagent butiful in dreamweaver. How to send?

    Thank y

Make an HTML email is not the same as doing a Web page. Remove or ignore certain code (like most many email clientsthe elements and embedded CSS). You may have created a nice page that works correctly across the browser, but will never properly work at several mail clients. It depends on your code.

Some things that can help you...

    1. use provisions of base tables. I know, it sounds bad, but put in simple nested table based much more systematically appear cross-client in html emails
    2. use simple inline css if you cannot use an html attribute to do the same. Nothing should be in theof the page, it gets deleted by several email clients. A lot of css attributes does not work, so if there is an equivalent html element, we it rather
    3. a lot of text html, few images. Most e-mail clients are set to block images by default. If your email is image heavy, you can not reach everyone with something other than a message "for security reasons, the images were downloaded not."
    4. do not send yourself if you have a large list, you will get your email blacklisted as a spammer. Use an email like constantcontact.com and icontact.com service if you have a list of more than maybe 100-200 addresses

There are other items that need to be addressed, but who are the biggest. Electronic messaging services have you can use models that have been tested and refined for better results across a broad band of email clients. Until you have the 'tutorials' of html emails down, it may be preferable to use the available templates prior to the layout yourself.

  • HTML email in outlook 2013

Problems with my html email not display correctly in outlook 2013. I have stripped the html code of all css and build email using tables. The newsletter appears in outlook with the notable spacing problems. Outlook starts the broad spacing in tables? I don't know how to proceed with other options for a simple html email with no css.

I recently had a problem showing a response in Outlook 2016 button, a button that I had used since the beginning of time. I then decided to change one of the e-mail templates that come with the latest versions of Dreamweaver. Problem disappeared.

Jesus, this stuff is so fickle is not it!

It turns out that the '\r' was originally a line break and be misinterpreted by smartphone browsers:

    $headers = "MIME-Version: 1.0 '. '\r\n';"

    $headers. = "content-type: text/html;" charset = iso-8859-1 "."\r\n";"

    It worked:

    $headers = "MIME-Version: 1.0 '." "\n";

    $headers. = "content-type: text/html;" charset = iso-8859-1 "." "\n";
