Http using BIS/BES connection.

Hello Everone,

Before sorry all, if the subject does not much sense. But was so confused that is happening right there.

Here is the problem I am facing.

In the application I developed, I use an HTTP connection. Now my question: is it possible that I can ask my application to use in a particular way to this regard forcefully. I mean, can I choose between BIS or BES to establish this connection?

In short, I want to choose the type of connection prgramatically. Please guide me to the right way.

Thank you

-Rohan

Hi all

After lotta research and reding, on this question of BIS, the conclusion is that we cannot use BIS to connect to our demand for the Internet, as it is. BIS requires that we go through BlackBerry ISV Alliance program.

I just wanted to share this information with others, if anyone has the same problem. And please correct me if my conclusion is wrong here.

Thank you

-Rohan

  • Creating a connection HTTP using BIS

    Hello

I need to retrieve data from my web service using KSoap and BIS as a means of connection. From what I've heard, create HTTP through BIS connections is available for third party applications if the developer is a member of the Alliance of BlackBerry program (which I am currently not a part of). But I also heard that there is a backdoor method of doing that is by registering to the BlackBerry PUSH services.

I was wondering if someone could explain to me how I could use this secret method to create a connection HTTP using BIS.

    Thanks in advance.

you add to a bes connection "; deviceside = false', for example.
a BIS connection uses an appendage of connection string similar, is it the seekrit.
You can 'discover' this string seekrit by downloading the sample to bis push (not the simplified I wrote), you can do it without registering.

You can probably find it on google as well, but the forums have a word filter to apply the policy of it being forbidden to know

  • BIS - b connection problem

Right time of the day, all the world.

I hope someone here can help me. I have a nice java application that worked well on various devices, regardless of the BES or BIS "connection type" have been used. But not so long ago (oh, forget to mention, I write from the Russia) bis-b connection of several mobile operators launch services, and I start getting complaints from those who use it that my application doesn't work--it cannot activate the internet connection. I'm not a member of the Alliance.
So, can someone show me the way to hide?

    PS: Sorry my bad spelling

First of all, we cannot use BIS-B connection without becoming a partner of the alliance. Because as you say, we would need the code that should be added to the URL, which we usually get unless we become Member. And Yes. It's a violation to use without becoming a partner of the Alliance.

  • http connection goes through the WAP gateway and not through BIS/BES

How can I check that an http application connection passes by the WAP gateway and no BIS/BES.

I do not have the source code of the application and need to build my own app to connect http connection made by the unit.

I only have the jad file.

Thank you very much for the help.

at this point the man, you must understand a few things on your own.  Get the cod, and put the cod in the same folder as the Simulator, they will then work in the sim card.  Or you can browse to a deployment for application with the sim ota and download the cod in this way.

  • BIS/BES - best HTTP packet size?

Hello there, we need a large amount of data (up to several tens of MB) to be paid by the server by using HTTP. Somewhere, there is information that it is best to divide the data into small pieces with size about 20 KBs to pass to the Blackberry. Does anyone have information:-is it true? -different sizes of piece? -It is only limit BIS/BES? Thanks in advance!

There is a limit of BES, it was once 128KB, now usually much larger.  I'm not aware of a BIS limit.

I've seen other people recommend 64 KB as the largest block to download.  I can see why because it will take a reasonable amount of time to pass more wireless (especially not 3G).  You must take into account the time of retransmission and the possibility of a problem (such as a phone call, especially on phones not 3G) and does not have the size too large.

But with this size of data, you should really be sure that you're in WiFi before download should not you!

  • Upload an image using BIS connection did not work

    Hi, I use this link to download pic to download an image using the wifi. But when I use BIS it does not work although I add BIS connection prefix in this line hc = (HttpConnection), Connector.open (url);

    Any idea?

The problem is in the image size. When we use BIS we downloaded files size limit.

  • Error of connectivity HTTP using JDE 5.0.0 and Blackberry MDS

    Hello

I use BB MDS Simulator 4.1.2 and BB JDE 5.0.0 for test sample Oracle ADF Mobile client apps that I have developed.
My application tries to access Web services using HTTP.

Here's where I meet a HTTP connectivity problem.

1 see, for example, while trying to test HTTP using the Blackberry browser, I got the error: "host unknown mobile.blackberry.com:80.

    2. the sample I tried to run to test Web Services - accepts a user password and gets its translation in a desired language, using a service offered on the internet Web.
Here, I tried to translate the word "Madame" in English to the French.
    I met a HTTP/1.0 400 Bad Request.

Please take a look at the Trace of SDM as below (the entries for the "BOLD") and indicate if I'm missing something from the perspective of the configuration.

PS: I tried different options on the blackberry forums, but they were not very useful.

    Hello:

A couple of things to try and check:

-What is your network connection through the proxy server? If you are behind a proxy server, then you would need to set up proxy server in MDS by opening the file /config/rimpublic.property, go to the [HTTP handler] section and add the following line:

  • Create an application that uses BIS

    Hello, I'm new to this,

    NYW, my question is simple.

I made an application that uses the Internet to view pages, to get the XML...

When I tested it on a device, all seem to operate when the aircraft was on a wifi connection.

  • Download of BIS-B connection limiting

    Hi all

Is there anyone come cross on the connection http BIS-B download limitation.

I remebered I saw this somewhere, but now I can't find it.

Today, when I tested my application, I get an IOCancelledException via an http BIS-B connection.

When I reduce the size of file to download, it's OK.

    Thanks in advance.

We have an internal idea that BIS - B has a maximum request size of ~ 60K.

Since we have data (sync) that exceed this size, divide us the data into pieces that are awlays<>

Now, this could be a remnant of the previous levels of release, I'm not positive that it is a limitation published.

Another question, you will find the same type of limitation of BES - although the size of the query is defined by the administrator of BES. It's one more reason why we have chosen a small packet size to eliminate the problem.

  • We have laptops in the field who use VPN to connect. How can I get these systems to update our DNS when they connect to the VPN?

Our mobile sales are part of a domain but not connected to our network. Cached credentials are used to connect outside the office. Once they connect and view their desktops, they select the card from Verizon and use it to connect to our network via a VPN connection. These generally to enter an IP address but the router that connects and not from our DHCP server. This usually means that updates to our DNS servers are not always instantaneous (or update at all).

When they are done for the day, they just closed the lid of the laptop and he starts in mode 'sleep'. The next day, they open the lid and no lgin is necessary, but they do not need to reconnect to the VPN through their cards from Verizon.  How can I configure my DNS to update more frequently or maybe these computers portable bécon a command "ipconfig/registerdns"?

We have to connect to these systems in the field and it is almost impossible, unless we call the sales person and ask them their IP. We have more than 350 laptops in the field, then this makes it almost impossible to update all the.

    original title: Microsoft Netmeeting

Can I use NetMeeting to connect two computers in different physical locations but a local call using NetMeeting to dial a number to the other computer by a traditional dial-up 56K modem via telephone lines, (US Robotics ISA 56 K Win Modem kVoice) dialing the telephone number of the other person & their dial-up Modem too?  NetMeeting there software to do this, or do we need to use other software, downloaded or already in Windows XP?  Can we use NetMeeting on Windows XP Home Edition or XP Professional?  We do NOT want to go through the Internet, as our students do not have at this time of money to afford Internet connectivity.  . You want to use NetMeeting for tutoring purposes.
