  I have a new app to do that requires network access.

  Because I can't use BIS - B because I'm not a partner of the Alliance, I wanted to take a look at the new OS 5.0 network API and see how it works.

  I know that network connections should be performed in a separate thread.

  I'm far from being an experienced Blackberry developer... so I have a few questions about discussions.  I looked around the Internet, read on the forum, read the documentation, did some tests and so far, I came up with this code:

  In fact, this code works very well... but I want to improve it, and I have a few questions:

  1. I think that right now, every time I click on the 'Connect' button, I start a new thread. I would like to end this thread in the "run" method, but I don't really know how to access the variable 'ct' from there.   Counsel on how to do it?  Or maybe always use the same thread until my application is closed?

  2. in the FieldChangeListener of my "Submit" button, I want to access the value of radio box.  I did work, but I had to do my 'final' variable  What is the right way to do it?

  3 - to display a dialog box with 'Successful connection', I just wanted to write something in my main screen.  How I do that?

  I'm just a bit confused as to just what set up when you use a separate thread.

  Hi guys

  I visit the Adobe Forums as much as I used to and everything has changed how I knew.

  Before I used to see the discussions and conversations via the drop down menus etc and with a button to select the previous pages of questions and discussions. I don't see that now. I see only a selection of questions.

  Is there anything I can put in my preferences or any other way I can see discussions and conversations.

• Newbie question on merging 3 - Windows 7 (upgrade) and virtual disk

  I apologize if these questions were discussed on other threads, but I looked and did not find those specific to what I do. Since I am a new user, my experience with the merger is limited only to the few days of operational use.

  I received my iMac the other day and wanted to install Windows 7 (upgraded version) using Boot Camp and access either by booting natively to Win7 or through merger to access the Boot Camp. My friend, who has more experience than me has suggested, I use VMware Fusion for Win7 do run a vitural drive and not worth using Boot Camp, and a "hard" partition He said it would be faster and easier to manage (not sure now).

  I set up a disc in this drive and external created 4 partitions, which was intended for Win7. Then I installed VMware Fusion on iMac and went on loading windows on the external drive using the easy method. Easy installation application the activation code for Win7 and I provided at the specified location. Everything was humming along nicely until Windows 7 complained that he could not find a version support for Windows earilier. I had a Windows XP genuine disc ready to throw on the iMac, as soon as she needed, but instead he has cancelled installation.

  Then, I went to Google and searched for some answers and discovered that Win7 install in Fusion without an activation code. I uninstalled VMware and reinstalled, restarted the process, do not put in the Win7 activation code and everything was fine... except now, there is no Windows activation request. I've searched and anywhere to click on a link to activate Windows, or indeed could not find a place to write in the activation key.

  What is happening with this?

  Windows installation without a product key is convenient to have more options to activate Windows later.  Don't worry, Windows will "ask" you activate in the near future, but if you are willing to 'true' then go to properties of the icon of the computer and at the bottom you will see the activation state and you can change/enter your product key.

  Its nice to meet you all. This will be a first big post, hopefully, it will blossom into a big discussion.

  I read and learning and trying just my brain around all the info great here to build a NLE System.

  First let introduce me myself, I'm Erik and I've been a long time user of Prime Minister. In fact, I was in the first cycle, when I made my first cut and ripple delete. It's 1999, and I think that it was not yet Prime Minister, Pro, my memory to remember Prime Minister 7 or something, then a year at the College, he changed for PP. I might have that all mixed up too.

  Anywho, cut on adobe all through undergraduate and grad school then, and went and learned the Avid system. I have no hang ups where system, in my experience, a cut is a cut and a dissolution is a dissolve any system makes it.

  I'm now out of grad school and am out on my own once again, in my life I'll never be able to afford an avid system as our school had, with a nitro, composers in the great laboratory and a huge audio stand with avid something for multi track mastering. I want to get back to my roots because I chose to come back to adobe, in the production premium flavor.

  I can't wait to see what is different and also to be able to establish with the rendering, I remember the days when to see what I had first, go, make a small change and then again, you all know this too well cycle I don't know.

  I'm a simple thing at a time, independent guy, I don't have unless specifically requested edit for customers. I write my short and full length, shoot them, change them and play on the festival circuit.

  So, it is my intention for my NLE System.

  I will say that I am extremely happy with a lot of info on this forum. School unfortunately we are taught only the artisanal side of the edit and the regions, the end of the digital science is left to our own exploration. Since the beginning of my research, I went from the basic concept of the data rate of the camera and how large a card memory I have, the most important, how the memory card can Fastwrite.   SSD1: operating system and programs, 335 Intel series 240 gb, I know that many will say that is larger that I need, but it works for me.

  Hdd1: Projects, 1 TB wd caviar black 7200 RPM sata 32 MB cache 3.0

  HDD3: Media "ditto".

  Now I explore the MB more I learned that there is an extra 2 sata 6 on the MB. AS learned damage in another post, these additional 2 satas are on the maverick who shares with the gpu, but this MB does not suffer from a degradation performance of the gpu if I use those two slots for expansion of disk later. Once again for later, when money allows.

  Now let's discuss my personal workflow.

  I shoot nikon d800 with an external recorder 220 Pix. I use the DNxHD codec to 220Mbs @8 bitdepth.

  My style of editing is one thing at a time. I am a simple man, when I cut, I cut. I don't have the multitasking ability to cut a project while doing effects in AE and render in the background. Just too much for me to do both.

  I'm a patient man, and as I said above I have no clients so when I render/export I usually just to walk or go eat/sleep no matter what. My time is my own so my deadline came festival. Of course, I want as soon as possible, which could lower speed?

  To return to one thing at a time, it's when I became strange to my comrades, when I finished with a project I did. I'll be back and twist like a lot of my former colleagues. When I do the export, bar of the major problems, the video file is placed on an external hard drive and a backup disk, and then the work computer is put in shape and ready for the next project.

  I think that covers all aspects of my work, if there is something more specific that you need to know please ask.

  My questions for discussion.

  First, look on the parts and please report any things that you see as missing funky, or things that will have problems that you learned from your experience.

  I know that will offer you all a raid0 somewhere. At this precise moment, I would stick to single disks through simple tasks to prevent them to read and write at the same time, or at least to a minimum. I would like to have the stability of my data, but I also understand that there may be a requirement of speed for my codec read smoothly. So if I have to, I'm open to raid0 in the future when I can afford a stable backup of all the stuff.

  Leading up to my next question. A few posts there in the adobe forums, the general idea is a hard drive can fairly heavy video playback if the hard drive is designed for video only. I use 220Mbs the WD CB would be able to manage this so dedicated?

  Please look at the intended use for my readers, I'm only copying what I saw advice on the forums, but I would like comments like how and why would you do a disk as cache drives, media and projects. any other suggestions for what would be a better use of readers unique?

  I need your help to educate me in some things that I couldn't get on mine. Several times I see members talk about streams, is a sense of flow playing the timeline in multiple monitors? or is it also referring to several video tracks. 1,2,3,4, playing video at the same time?

  The filters form workflows? as I shoot dslr I have to use automatically 3 filters off the bat, rolling out of the shutter, color and a touch of sharpness. Sorry for the basic information as I said that I was taught on the side of the first architect of the edition.

  I'm very used to take my pictures from the camera store, and then import and transcoding in the Avid to low low to make editing smooooth. A flow rate of 36 MB or more, then after locking picture, connection with my original effects of post of color correction and export media.

  Since it has been so long and I've learned so much, I guess PYP for this type of line off line editing style, t - it?

  Personally I would prefer not to transcode and edit in native mode, which as I see it, is what adobe sells for cs5

  List of Nice construction! All my comments below are really pretty minor in the scheme of things...

  -Agreement with prejudice, i7 - 3930 k would be great

  -Suggests a different CPU cooler; There are a lot of good passive to choose loop coolers, or if you want to stick with the liquid, I would say a bigger radiator and pump if you want something really powerful and quiet

  -Join the misdeeds on the SSD choice except for a minor point; If you go with Samsung, choose the 830 model or the Pro 840 (the 840 unpro written too slow)

  -You could shoot with a smaller power supply, but if you stick with what you have, it will keep things nice and quiet as the 1200w will work well under its ceiling of power (assuming the 1200w CM has a variable speed fan installation)

  I looked at the link at the top... when I right click on the files and selecetd add a parent folder that it changed the view of annual records being next to each other for example...

  I pointed out the Selection tool in the same folder that is my perso\Mon pictures\2010. Then, he gave me a prompt to merge the files... It merged then deleted the My Pictures folder and added photos in the folder above... it looks like now

  1. is it OK to format the internal flash SSD drive and install windows on the SSD 'only '? Will I have problems?

I have already install windows on my SSD and there is no partition, when the complete Macbook installing Windows using Boot Camp, my screen had a black screen while I install the driver after I connect to Windows, what happens to my computer can I still have Windows on my "no partition SSD drive?

  The EFI partition behaves differently if you use Windows. It may be easier to create a small (32GB) OS X and use the rest for Windows.

  This problem is one of the reasons, OS X is worth having on the internal drive. If Windows does not work for some reason, OS X switch can allow access to the Mac. What was the version of Windows that you tried to install? Did you use a USB key or an optical drive?

• Computer cannot find the printer on the network

  I have a Photosmart D110A and use a router Airport Extreme to print from my PC and iPad.  Until a few days ago, it worked fine but now neither my iPad or PC can find the printer on the network.  When I run the test report of network on the printer, it shows that everything is fine and dandy.  No the guided HP solutions even to get close to solving this riddle... it seems that any questions they discuss involve the printer will not connect to the network.

  OK, so they are both on the network of comments.  Comments network does not allow for communication between devices.

  Open Airport utility, select your airport and click installation manual.  Access to the Internet zone, then DHCP.  What are the two structures IP DHCP for your two airport networks (invited and regular).

  For example, mine is 10.0.1.X for the ordinary and 17.16.42.X for my network of comments.

• Window could not check the update

  I bought a new laptop Toshiba Satellite A500/02J and install Windows 7, 64 bit.
  The problem is that when it's time set to automatic update of Windows 7, the message "window could not check the updated" comes top-code 8024402F - "window meeting unkown error."

• An api imported USB does not work correctly

  I am currently using LabVIEW to communicate with a USB device and I had to import an api USB I bought. With VC ++ this api works well, but LabVIEW has its problems.

  First of all, I imported through Tools > Import > Library (DLL), chose the DLL and the corresponding and any Headerfile which worked without problems. Now I got my 14 VI, one for each function declared in the DLL.

  It is, most of these functions will not properly work, or maybe I just don't understand their right or give them the wrong settings. I will attach a screenshot of the 'GetList.vi', which should return a list of all connected USB devices.

  My guess is that the defined pList could be a problem because it must contain the char, int etc but as you can see in the screenshot, contains only numbers.

  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  EDIT: Here's the description of the documentation of the api USB GetList method:

  GetList)
  This function searches the system for USB HID devices and generates a list of these devices and their availability.  The caller must provide a pointer to a buffer that will contain the list of entries of the structure.  Must also provide an integer representing the maximum number. entries may contain the buffer.  Returns the total number stored.

  I can only recognize smercurios statement that this type of API is absolutely better managed with a wrapper DLL. While it is not impossible to do it entirely in LabVIEW, it is more than the import library Wizard can eventually handle automatically and doesn't require so some stunts of advanced in the LabVIEW diagram memory pointer that must be done manually. Something which is not really run by a person without some serious C programming knowledge, but this person is clearly going for the wrapper DLL solution because it is much easier to manage than to do everything in a LabVIEW diagram by hand.

• Family Safety time limits is no longer log off user

  Now I used a while to FSS deadlines for on the same laptop. Recently (I guess that for an update), delays are no longer disconnect the user. You are unable to log on to the account during blocked times, however, once logged on you without getting more time per minute 15 "you will be logged out' warning and my son can continue to use the computer.

  Until I get the stock answers: -.

  • It has a standard account and I have an administrator account on the laptop.
  • I uninstalled the filter and reinstalled the latest version
  • I refreshed the filter and box "your settings have been updated" appear
  • Time box is checked on the Web site
  • It is a Windows 7 PC with all the patches/updates applied and carefully scanned for virus/malware

  Family safety is blocking sites and reports very well for this account, it's just time disconnect feature that does not work. I followed all the steps of other responses.

  Any other suggestions?
