I accidentally turned my screen sideways

I accidentally turned my screen on the side.  It drives me crazy.  I need a very simply way to return to normal.  Thank you.

Press CTRL + ALT + the up arrow key.  If that doesn't work try CTRL + ALT + one of the other arrow keys.
Also try to do a right click on the desktop, select Graphics Options | Rotation | Normal

When I watch the video on my iphone, I usually turn my iphone sideway, the video would turn sideways to get the most out of the video. But now it does not turn sideways.  Try to find the adjustment to set the option or the recent updated version this video sideway option removed.

Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to get to the control center. Press on the icon of a padlock on the right side until it becomes black. If the icon is white, the screen rotation is locked.

  • I just accidentally turned off my system restore application.

I just accidentally turned off my system restore application.  I used the running config setting and disabled running applications... I have a msg to stop or anything like that.
The reason I did was to see if I could stop my browser to freeze or slow running, as I had downloaded chrome for reminders and love... then when it does not work, still having the same problem.  Then I went to the option to restore to see if I could go back and fix it, I got the msg stop restore point!
Well now, how can I solve the problem, that I set out to challenge in the first place the slow down my laptop works... IE browser... etc.. ?

    Pretty old...

    I prefer these instructions :)

Run a test on your RAM with memtest86 + (I know it's annoying and will cost you a CD).

Memtest86 + is a version more up to date of the old program memtest86 and they are not the same.

The memtest86 + does not work under Windows, you will need to download the ISO file, create a bootable CD, boot on it and then run memtest86 +.

If even a single error is reported is a failure and you do suspect of your RAM.

If you have several sticks of RAM, you may need to run the test on them one at the time and change them out to isolate the particular omission of a single stick.

Always keep at least the first Bank of occupied RAM so the test will find something to do and simply restart your system.

Sometimes reinstalling the RAM in slots will relieve the error, but a failure is always cause for suspicion.

The instructions and files are here:
    http://www.memtest.org/

Here is a link that shows that you create and use the CD memtest86 +:
    http://www.GeeksToGo.com/Forum/Guide-to-using-Memtest86-t246994.html

If someone says to run memtest86, you can tell them to go sand paper and that you know memtest86 + replaces memtest86 and here's why:

  • Windows Defender: I think that I accidentally turned off Windows Defender by using Windows Defender. Now, Windows Defender does not start

I think I accidentally turned off Windows Defender by using Windows Defender.  Now, Windows Defender does not start.  How can I get this start?

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/turn-Windows-Defender-on-or-off

Turn Windows Defender on or off the information on the link above of Microsoft.

    And also read this:

If you have Microsoft Security Essentials, AVG, McAfee, Norton, etc. installed, they have a conflict with Windows Defender, or turn it off.

Microsoft Security Essentials has its own integrated version of the defender and it automatically disables the version of Vista in Windows Defender.

    See you soon.

  • the mouse turns off screen by far on one side and not the other way

my mouse turns off the screen along tracks on the right side up to 6 inches of while on the left and up he hits the edge. at the bottom it will turn off screen but only a centimetre or two. I called support but they needed a control on my computer, I was wondering just if theres a way I can fix this without letting someone take on my system.

If another (additional) monitor has been activated, it will appear on the right side and the mouse can move in this area.  It seems that this could be happening.  Open the display by right-clicking on an empty space in the office, then choose NVIDIA Control Panel or open the ATI Catalyst Control Center, and then check if 2 screens are selected.

It is not clear to me if you understand how this tool works. It does not automatically remove tasks, you must open the tool and click the points you want to delete. To Heal I usually put 100% opacity for Clone usually not more than 90%.

  • my mother was dusting his keyboard while the computer was on and now the screen is turned 90 degrees sideways and doesn't know how to say back to normal. Any suggestions?

She does not know the combo of keys that it to get the screen to turn 90 degrees.  How do correct us the orientation of the screen?

This phenomenon of rotation screen sometimes inadvertently some keystrokes (the cat walked on my keyboard).  In your case, MOM dusted off the keyboard.

See if you press on the keys Ctrl-Alt top/arrow down, arrow rotates screen 90 degrees at a time.

If this does not work, we will need to know your system brand and model and see if we can look at the rotating screen for you shortcut keys.

The ability to rotate the screen image is a characteristic of your video
card, to help work with instructors who turn to the portrait
orientation. Almost certainly you accidentally pressed Ctrl-Alt, and
    an arrow key.

    Rotate using these keys.

  • XP turned my screen 90 degrees

I have an old laptop running XP which is only good for hulu, pandora, etc.. I was watching Hulu with Flash when OS hung, spun for a while and then the screen rotates 90 degrees. Left is now the top of the screen and is just at the bottom.

I started in safe mode and everything seems correct, but I start again under the standard and it is turned. No idea what past and how to fix it?
