I am running Firefox 3.6.23. I get the message that HP Smart Web printing is not compatible.
I am running Firefox 3.6.23 under Windows 7 64-bit. I want to use the HP Smart Web Printing program, but under the Add-ons, I get the message that it is not compatible with this version. What worm. should I run for compatibility? I've seen both the icon on the toolbar, but it went away after the next reboot. Help.
Ray
It is listed as compatible with the versions of Internet Explorer 6, 7 and 8.
Best regards
ERICO

I have followed the instructions to download twice, said that my download is complete, but still seem to have the old version with the message to download the new version, so I'm going in circles
Your user agent string (identifies the version of the browser) reports that you have Firefox 3.5.19 and not 4.0.1
A quick look to confirm which version you have, if the bookmarks menu has an object called "organize bookmarks" you use Firefox 3.5.19, if it has one element called "show all bookmarks" you Firefox 4
If you have Firefox 4, you must reset your user agent string so that it correctly identifies the version of Firefox.
- Type of topic: config in the address bar and press on enter
- Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences
- Locate the general.useragent.overridepreference, right-click on it and select Reset, this function will set the default user agent string in Firefox 4
There are other user agent string settings that may have changed, but these are no longer used in Firefox 4. You can reset them if you want, for details, see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Websites+or+add-ons+incorrectly+report+incompatible+browser
If you have Firefox 3.5.19, you can use the integrated update system. In using the menu, select "Check for Updates" and it should offer to install Firefox 4.0.1

I'm unable to start Firefox. To get the message that it is already running. Cannot find my profile using '% APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles| '. Restarting my computer did not help. Because I had this problem I also noticed that all my favorites that I had copied in Windows Internet Explorer also disappeared. I use Firefox as my main search engine and usually do not use Internet Explorer. I am running Windows 7 on my machine.
Try this add on the profile folder

There are / were three problems:
1. why, when I open Firefox 9.01 this I get a message that I don't have the most recent when version help > on Firefox said I do?
2 also, with version 8 of xx, I was unable to open a new window with a right-click, until I upgraded to 9.01. (Old problem now, but I'm curious).
3 when I tried to uninstall the old version of the uninstall program told me that I had to close the open version, but it was closed according to my taskbar. I also have this problem with Thunderbird.1. you are using the latest version which is Firefox version 9.0.1
From your description, it seems that if you still have the old start page for Firefox http://www.google.com/firefox hosted by Google as your homepage. This old default home page is no longer used as topic: Home is in use since Firefox 4.0
Ignore the message, change the homepage of topic: Home, replace it with another page or leave blank.

I got the message to update my browser, I went on the site and download the latest version of Firefox. I update my plug-ins as well. However, I always get the message that my browser is obsolete. I uninstalled it, reinstalled, without success. Please help me. When I go to help and select about Firefox, I have that I use the latest version: 6.0.2.
Check general.useragent preferences on the topic: config page.
You can open the topic: config page through the address bar just like you open a Web site.Filter: general.useragent
If all general.useragent prefs are "BOLD" (user set) then right-click this pref and select reset.
It would be probably due the FBSMTWB on the end of your useragent that you had added the Fast Browser Search toolbar extension.

I want to go to Google +. I get a message that says: your browser is no longer supported.
Google + no longer supports your browser. Please update your browser.
The message also said Google + is supported by Firefox 3.6 and upwards. I have Firefox 7.0.1Your string UserAgent in Firefox has been ruined by an add-on you have installed.
http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/USER_AGENTEnter about: config in the URL bar and press ENTER.
If you see the warning, you can confirm that you want to access this page.
Filter = general.useragent.
The preferences that are bold, one line at a time, right-click and select Reset.
Then restart Firefox -
"An unknown error has occurred while printing."
See this:
http://KB.mozillazine.org/Problems_printing_web_pagesThe lack of compatibility of the HP Smart Web printing add-on shouldn't stop a printer HP to work with Firefox - all you lose is this stupid floating toolbar and adds some features.
File > print or {Ctrl + P} should begin printing again, so all you have to do is make sure that the correct printer is selected, and then click the OK button.
My advice is to try to the reset mentioned in this article.

OK upgraded windows 8 to 8.1 twice first time very well. I'm new to computers do not know what todo when I messed up so I refreshed it twice. said I was again yes I know wet... okay, so now I get a message that says I have to remove my windows folder says .old takeing up a lot of space on the hard drive but when check it says I have gb 670 got 606 gb Benjamin do I need to do and if yes, how also runs alittle funny once wireless internet works then time is not. a lot of pop-up windows, I have ever before say help line lets chat acts as computer help those np technical support call greeat by the weDownload to eat and others on malware never heard of it. If can help thank you very much
With pop ups offering cat etc. support looks like you have some hidden malware/spyware. Download MalwareBytes and make a scan complete/clean. The free version works fine, no need to go for the pro version, unless you want to.

I can't dfragment c drive. I get the message run Ckdsk/f. The file is not found.
the command is CHKDSK /F.
However, it is best to run this instead: CHKDSK /R
It is unclear if you do not run the check disk drive correctly or if the check disk command / file is affected by the volatile file system.
my suggestion is to acquire a xp boot cd and boot the recovery console.
then when you get to the disk prompt run the command >: CHKDSK /R
then type exit, remove the cd and boot into windows.

I've recently updated to windows 10. If I try to delay the update, he invites me just again.
I think you have malware. Start by removing the MediaPlayer extension, restart Firefox and see if the problem goes away. Then I suggest to also review the control panel to the other group junk that can infect Firefox or cause other problems. Here's how:
(1) open Firefox page modules using either:
- CTRL + SHIFT + a
- "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons
- in the Windows "Run" dialog box, type or paste
firefox.exe "about:addons"
In the left column, click Extensions. Then find and remove the extension is suspected.
Often, a link will appear above a removed extension to restart Firefox so that it comes into force. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.
(2) open the Control Panel, uninstall a program. After the loading of the list, click on the column heading "installed on" to group infections, I mean additions by date. This can help the surface elements undisclosed bundle which snuck out with some software, you have agreed to install. Beware of everything that you don't recognize / remember, since malware often uses sounding names important or innocent to discourage you remove. Out as much garbage as possible here.
(3) for greater peace of mind, you can search for possible problems with the scanning/cleaning of the tools listed in our technical support article: Troubleshooting Firefox problems caused by malware. These scanners on request are free and take a long time to run. If they end quickly, especially if they require the payment you have a serious infection. I suggest the specialty forums listed in the article in this case.
Success?

Since a recent automatic update, I was not able to print by clicking on the firefox tab icon. I have pages that I need to print, that do not load with the toolbar complete with the key of menu etc. I could always print by clicking on the icon, but no more. Help please.
you could try pressing and use 'ctrl' then 'P' on your keyboard
We also write 'ctrl + P', it's the printing system wide combination of shortcut keys.Alternatively, you can try, right-click in the title bar (where your loading tabs) and selecting 'Menu Bar', which will show the menu bar (with file, editing, display, etc.) on the tabs allowing you to print from the submenu file
hope that helps!
See you soon
