I am trying to extrude a shape.

Why I do not see the geometry category in my bed after I click the cube icon to make the 3D layer? If you still see that with the follow-up of the CPU or is it because I have no CUDA and Nvidia GPU tracing or something else?

We do not know what version of After Effects that you use or what type of layer that you use, so it is difficult to help you.

  • Drawing vectorization technique

I'm new to Illustrator - so apologies for what is probably a basic question! I'm scanning of simple components on a technical drawing. Here's the line drawings - closed contours (for example, the outline of the cross section of an airplane wing). I try to use Illustrator to convert the vector jpg scan form - save the result as a .dwg file. I am so that import into SolidWorks where I'm trying to extrude the shape of the part before 3D printing.

In Illustrator, I use vectorization to create the vector representation. However I find that the vector representation seems to take the form of a number of vector representations. segmented. So, in SolidWorks I can obviously not extrude the component.

Are there additional steps in Illustrator should I use to clean up/unify the vector representation? Your help would be greatly appreciated...

Vectorization is usually a REALLY difficult interpretation of the object. Best practice would be to trace it with the pen tool. I understand that that's intimidating if you are new to the program.

  • UB12: When I create a part, how can I give the 3D appearance a ring shape (coil)?

    Hello

My circuit uses a custom coil: 12.13 mm outside radius, inside radius 11,13 mm, height 1. 00 mm.  I tried to make this shape in UB by drawing a circle of radius of 11.63 mm with a thickness of 1 mm.  Then in the 3D settings, I did the height of offset 0mm and 1 mm.  This gave me an object round solid with good height and diameter.  I figured out that if i select Create hole, it will create a depth in the center of the diameter of the circle.

So, I did a turn on the 3D layer with the same RADIUS as the inner radius of the coil.  I put that to create holes.  The I made another circle on the 3D layer with a radius of RADIUS outside of the coil and solid to define.   Then I selected the two circles and looked at the tab 3D of the Properties dialog box.  I again had a solid object.  How can I be subject to smaller radius with the hole in it the RADIUS substitution more large object without a hole in it, then it is combined a form of ring?

Or, there may be a better way to make this form of ring?  Of course, this reel surrounds a bunch of components on a PCB, so when you are finished, the 3D view of the coil to "reveal" details on the circuit board in the center of the coil (components, printing, etc.).

    Hi,

I don't know if that's what you want to do, but take a look at the attachment.  I placed two circles on the 3D layer, 12.13 mm and the other for 11,13 mm.  The inner circle, I put the size equal to the outside circle and I checked the option box 'hole', also on the "Hardware" tab, I did the color of the inner circle that is different than the outer circle.  When you look at the 3D preview, this part looks like a ring.

When you open my file, click the componnet and select change > implementing change to show what I did.

  • Transparent border in shapes when exporting

When I create two or more shapes in Illustrator and align with each other while is normal:

    illustrator.jpg

but when I move the file in photoshop by dragging it in illustrator, the shapes have a semi transparent border:

    photoshop.jpg

I tried to remove anti-aliasing in illustrator and I tried to align the shapes with outline view with anchor points, but the result is always the same.

I also tried to export in pdf format and then import the file in photoshop, but without any result.

I'm afraid that this problem translates also during printing, is it possible to avoid this problem?

And what happens if you leave Illustrator rasterize the file?

You can apply a pixelation effect (as an effect, you can always turn off).

    Choose: Effect > rasterize > resolution > other > 360 DPI

Add > 0 px around object.

I'm also curious to see an example of Illustrator file with the problem.

  • Add anchors to the shape of the dynamic object?

I'm trying to change a shape into a smart object, for a model of an open book. I want to use it to generate images of our book pages (page/design spreads layout).

Using the single warp and skew transformation tools are not enough. The form, I need has a pinch in the middle. I want this kind of spread:

    WWUA_Chaptrspread12x9_144dpi.jpgScreen Shot 2015-08-17 at 3.38.56 PM.png

to comply with the pages right and left (top and bottom, mounted soft on each side).

    BUT

When I create a dynamic object I can't add anchor points (can I?). Can I use rather naïve transformations. I can try a mesh of puppets (action hard to remove all small distortions of external form).

Is it possible to modify a rectangle (add/manipulate anchors), after you HAVE created a SO (in order to keep the flat rectangle of the PSB)?

I tried to add points BEFORE I created the statement of objections, but they disappeared in the main PSD after I creqated the OS.

I think I'm missing something obvious. Help, please. Makes me crazy.

    Greg

You cannot add points of anchorage, but with what you want to do, you must break your text in a separate page and convert each page separately. You could probably make a page and then make a new smart object via copy, is SO independent, then back horizontally. Then open it and put the second page of the text. Just be aware that you will need flip the text inside the SO, so it's good to read again.

  • trying to turn a 3d showing part of the heads and tales

Does anyone know how to create a room in 3d showing heads and tales in rotation? I get the 3d image then I extrude 3d shape layer and it runs very well, but I can't get the back to show the other image. If anyone knows where I can find information or tutorials on this topic please let me know. Thank you.

You can't do this with the traced the beam 3D rendering engine. There is no function to show a different texture on each side of the extruded 3D object.

This is the task is better suited for Cinema 4 d or 3D element.

  • ABSENCE OF PEN TOOL FULL WHEN YOU CREATE A SHAPE LAYER

Hello, I am going through Chris Meyer video courses be apprentice AE and spent over an hour on the following problem.

    Here's what I know.

I know I'm trying to create a shape layer, not a mask, to create a framework to surround the video of the green field on the attached screenshot.  Therefore, I pressed "F2" to make sure that I do.

I want to set the borders of this picture frame by using the pen tool to draw a path on the layer titled "Windy Peak.

I stressed this layer in my calendar.

This video has been glued on a form of placeholder that I created using the command Option "/" on my Mac.

I have limited use of the pen tool, because it displays correctly when I hover it over the borders of the video to be framed.

But I don't have access to the controls of toolbar I want to fulfill my mission.

For example, I would like to create a gradient to define the internal coloration of this framework, but I have no use of the pipette when I click on the color picker.

In addition, I cannot access or manipulate all substantive standard options or outline for use of my pen.

    That's what I know.

    Thanks for your help!   Matt

Post edited by: Matt Dubuque to add the fact that the video had been affixed on the form of placeholder image by pressing Command Option ' / ' on my Mac.

Thanks for pitching in Todd and Rick, I appreciate it very much.

As stated earlier, I use the pen tool, but there only functional limitation as it showed the path that I created on the green meadow.  My Tools panel remains enabled.

My main problem is that I can't adjust the background settings or outline for my pen.

I tried to change and reset various workspaces and it did not help.

    I'm scratching my head here.

  • Extrude 3D polygons in Oracle spatial

    Dear all,

I have two sets of the footprint of City data imported into the Oracle Spatial already. One is a polygon with x 2D layer and there, and the other is a layer of polygons 3D with z values (x and are identical to the first).

Now, I am trying to extrude 3D for composite 3D polygon based on the value of z. I can extrude the 2D polygons with success with specifying the heights of soil (for example sdo_ordinate_array (0)) and topheights (say, sdo_ordinate_array (20.0)).

However, how extrude the specified polygon 3D taking the z value of each vertex as the heights of floor at a higher height is a problem for me. Since I am very new to use PL/SQL, besides, I'm not sure if it's possible to do.

Here are examples of data extracted the data from the sample:
Select sample.geom.sdo_ordinates in the sample sample2d_polygon
    NUMBER (715202.739577727,733492.909091357,715206.759608945,733492.412077086,715208.666575034,733506.889047512,715204.72752625,733507.364066093,715202.739577727,733492.909091357)

Select sample.geom.sdo_ordinates in the sample sample3d_polygon
    NUMBER(715202.739577727,733492.909091357,12.4890003204346,715206.759608945,733492.412077086,12.4890003204346,715208.666575034,733506.889047512,12.4540004730225,715204.72752625,733507.364066093,12.4320001602173,715202.739577727,733492.909091357,12.4890003204346)

Can someone help me with this
    Select sdo_util.extrude (sample.geom, sdo_ordinate_array(), sdo_ordinate_array (20.0), 'true', 0.05) sample2d_polygon sample, where the first sdo_ordinate_array is the corresponding z value of the Summit?

Any suggestion is expected and appreciated.

    Hi Jun, -.
I hope that the following code solves your problem.
Please make sure also your geometries are valid by using sdo_geom.validate_geometry_with_context or
