  • WNDR3400V2 (RN600) router - wireless repeating with Wireless Modem Arris

I need help. I have an Arris wifi Modem (TG862) - recently installed when moving into a new House and the signature to the top for cable internet. I have a problem with weak wifi signal in the rear rooms - with signal drop. I have the spare WNDR3400V2 - so, how can I use it to boost my signal, preferably wireless? I have trouble to get the right settings when you configure as Repeater with different guides does not not exactly to my hardware. I don't have too much knowledge on this and how do it, but any help will be appreciated. The PC in the bedroom becomes signal well enough, I'm fighting to get compatible with phones wifi...

In order to strengthen the signal on the desired location, run a long ethernet cable from the modem to the NETGEAR router.

Still, there is no way for these 2 devices to be connected wireless to the other.

  • Windstream says interferes with ADSL modem router

I signed up with windstream DSL internet service yesterday. I have a netgear wnr1000 n150 router and a flow stream 4200 dsl modem. Everything was fine until an hour ago. Service was very slow. Then tried to get on Netflix on my tv and it does not load. Checked my network status and he said connected to the router but not the Internet. Tried unplugging everything, wait and then plug upwards. Connect briefly, then lose the connection. Called Windstream. She says that my IP address is in the red. A unplug the router to the modem. She then said IP address went to green so my router is interfering with my modem. She said call netgear. Unable to call because I have a subscription. Is anyone familiar with this problem?

Then your Speedstream works as a router. You can choose one of the two options I provided in my first answer.

  • WRT54GL does not connect the new cable Modem

Hello, I hope someone can help me. I just changed internet providers and my router does not work with the new modem they proived. I had been with ATT and has configured the modem/router ATT to act as a pass through my WRT54GL. Now, when I connect my new modem (which is also a wireless router) to the WRT54GL, I get no connection on the Linksys. However, if I plug in my modem att, resume service (I've not turned my old Internet again until I get this resolved). I tell myself that some setting prevents the WRT54GL to connect but not sure how to determine who it is: I'm not very well informed in this area and only followed a guide online when I configured the router to worek with ATT modem. I'm hoping to avoid resetting the WRT54GL to the deault factory because my old model Roku connects and I cannot change the network, it connects to due to losing the physical remote control. If anyone has any suggestions or can help me trouble shoot, I would really appreciate it!

    HI idkidd,

You can disable the Wi - Fi modem to avoid any conflict on your Linksys router. And for the WRT54GL work with the new modem, you must reconfigure. The router might still be trying to remember the previous modem settings.

    Try these steps:

    * Connect the computer directly to the modem and check the IP address (Windows) (MAC OSX )

    Note the IP address

    * Now, unplug the modem from the computer

    * Connect the computer to the Ethernet/LAN router (leave the disconnected modem) ports

    * Determine the IP address of the computer, get the router. Then, compare it to the IP address, you have the modem

    * If you get the modem 192.168.1.x and is also the router 192.168.1.x, which means that there is a conflict of IP address

You can use this link on how to set up the router again with the new set up a router with DSL Internet service Linksys modem

    I hope that these AIDS!

  • NETGEAR N300 Wi - Fi DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem Router (C3000) sees the backup HD Seagate but don't transfer

V1.01.11 firmware, OS is Windows 10

I bought the cable Modem Wifi Netgear N300. Except for the external hard drive Seagate (backup Seagate more 5 TB desktop external hard drive with 200 GB of Cloud Storage & Mobile Device backup USB 3.0 (STDT5000100)), all my devices connect to it without problem. However:

1.) when I have the hood upwards the Seagate external hard drive, the genius of Netgear he sees, but says that the drive has 0 bytes available.

(2.) that's why I can't back up by using the backup program WIndows 10 but

(3.) I can "manually" drag files from my PC to the Seagate HD (the PC is connected to the modem router cable via wifi.)

4.) when I connect the Seagate HD with a USB cable to the computer, the backup works.

It's frustrating because I want to use the Seagate HD as a backup for some of my devices and I want the devices to send their data or the Netgear router.

Can someone help me? It seems important that Netgear genius sees the HD Seagate but think it has no place.

    Richard

I answer my own question (!) but is the answer that the HD 5 t is not compatible with the cable modem Netgear router? See:

  • If I can do an Airport Extreme mobile network with a modem/router cable xfinity manufactured by Cisco?

Can I create an Airport Extreme (current generation) network of roaming with a cable modem/router xfinity manufactured by Cisco (DPC3939 to be exact)?  The modem-router Cisco/Xfinity put into bridge mode?

Can I create an Airport Extreme (current generation) network of roaming with a cable modem/router xfinity manufactured by Cisco (DPC3939 to be exact)?

Yes, if the Airport Extreme will be connected to the Cisco DPC3939 back using wired Ethernet wired, permanent.

The modem-router Cisco/Xfinity put into bridge mode?

No. I you have done this, the Cisco/Xfinity device would only act as a simple modem... so it would not be a wireless service to all.

A note of caution here... the support document you are referencing... Wi - Fi base stations: install and configure a roaming network (802.11 a/b/g/n)... use the examples that are long outdated does not follow with the versions present on a Mac AirPort Utility or iPhone/iPad.

There are some good general information in the document.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 more N91: Printer crashes with 0xB845D7DC when connect to UPC Ubee cable modem/router EVW3226

Printing: HP Officejet Pro 8600 more e-All-in-One Printer - N911g

    SN: [personal information]

    REF: CM750A

    FW: CKP5CN1516AR

Then try to connect to the router wireless (active DHCP), the printer LCD display starts to blink and a second, it displays B845D7DC.

After that, the printer asks to reset and it restarts with wireless off.

I have a cable modem with router wireless of my cable TV UPC provider called UPC Ubee EVW3226.

I tried to connect the printer to the router using the WPS button and provide the password. In both cases, I have the same behavior.

I have a dozen other wireless home devices that connect without problem to the router. But not the printer.

Please let me know what other information will be good for you to solve the problem. Or, please provide a workaround solution.

    I found the solution:

connect to your printer cable (you can use a direct eth between your computer and your printer cable), access the web interface and disable support IPv6 (let the IPv4 only verified): network > General > protocols > only IPv4 verified. Save and restart the printer.

In 80% of cases, it will work on the wireless connection. For the other 20% when it does not work, try to assign a static IP address to your printer (network > Wireless > IPv4) in a second time. Take data from your router (IP, gateway, DNS).

  • E3000 to work with the modem configuration cable of Verizon FIOS actiontec / router

Hi all, I read knowledgebase Article ID: 3733, which seems to me on the right track, but the menu router screens listed do not correspond to the screens of the E3000.

I have a FIOS cable modem / router in the basement I should keep since she animates all FIOS guide and on the characteristics of the application. I have a NAS drive in the basement and all hard wiring runs to the basement as well.

I tried n wireless and a better location for the wireless access point, so I bought the E3000 and put it in the kitchen on the main floor

When I wired a LAN port numbered on the E3000 to LAN ports numbered on the ActionTec and introduced the router everything worked well, but quickly found that wireless clients could not see the NAS.  I suspect that it is because the E3000 uses a different address of range (192.168.0.1) as the actiontec (http://192.168.1.1/).  I finally move the NAS on the floor to temporarily solve this problem, but my wife keeps me out of his kitchen ASAP :-)

I tried almost every imaginable parameters (IP of E3000 actiontec adjustment range, disabling NAT, disable DHCP, enable/disable RIP) to get the E3000 to simply become a gateway switch wired and wireless and let the routing actiontec, but never been able to make it work.

Could someone post a version of the Article ID: 3733 who works for the E3000?

Press and hold the reset button on the E3000 router for 30 seconds. Release the reset button and wait 30 seconds. Power cycle router E3000.

Now connect a computer to the Ethernet port on the Router 2 (do not connect the cable between the modem and E3000)

Open the E3000 configuration page. Change the settings of the E3000 router wireless.

Go to the Configuration tab and change the IP address of the E3000 router to 192.168.1.2.

Disable the DHCP server on the router and save the settings.

Do NOT change any other settings (NAT firewall).

Connect the modem cable to port Ethernet router 1 E3000. cycle power to the router.

Now try to access the Internet via E3000 router.

  • WRT310N access to wireless hooked up in tandem with the modem router cable

I have a Linksys cable modem set up and hanging the WRT310N to it. I am able to access the internet via the wireless router, but I can't seem to access web access the router. I want to update the firmware on the WRT310N, but I can't access the admin page. What should I do?

    Thank you

    Gary

You have a MACBook, you need to wire your MACBook to your Linksys router, and then click the Apple Menu on the top Leftside, click System Preferences, then click Network, then select built in Ethernet and there you will find the IP address that you get your wireless router, note down the default gateway After that open to the top of your Safari browser and the bad address Type that numbers a default gateway and press ENTER, when you are prompted for the user name and Word of past, let the emptiness of username and the password typed "admin" all lowercase and after that, you will see the page of the linksys router configuration.
