• I can create a text box so that it grows with the amount of text entered into it?  I don't see how a defined size.

  I have a form and am adding text boxes.  I want them to be able to grow with the amount of text entered by the user.  It is essentially to 'comments' on a form.  Most of the text boxes may only need a few words, and some may be 2 paragraphs.  It seems that I have to create a text box and give it a static size.  Is that what I am missing how?

  If you want dynamic fields, then you must use LiveCycle or be prepared to do a lot of redesign of the form and coding.

  I guess that you are referring to a PDF file with fields of defined forms.

  The attributes of the forms fields are determined by the person who actually creates the PDF form.

  Your only option is to change the definition of the form itself, assuming that the form designer has not locked the form in a way that could prevent you from making these changes (including the passage of the size and/or location of the form fields, the size of police and point text in the fields, etc.).

  These forms of editing (as well as the creation of forms) can be made with Acrobat DC. (Reader can fill out and save forms but impossible to create or modify definitions of field of forms!)

  But again, be aware that if the form designer has protected the form against the change of the field definitions, unless you get the password of this person to remove the protection, you cannot change the field definitions.

  You cannot use PDF tools for folios of DPS. If you want a form, you need to write HTML and enter this amount as an overlay of web or HTML.

  Don't forget your footer items are marked as a footer element and that your text box is not.

  Right-click on the components and check or uncheck the footer element

  Work on an online application. Downloaded on my HDD and fill me in the blanks using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro. Typewriter in general but I want to use a text box to a large area of lots of hits. How to remove the Red edge "BOLD"?

  You can view the properties bar by pressing Ctrl + E. Then select the text box, and you should see where you can change the color of the border or remove by setting the border to nothing.

• Cannot type in a text box or callout text box

  I use Windows 7, IE 9.0.8112.16421 and Acrobat version 10.1.6. I work in a priorietary for the revision of hardware platform and I can use all the annotation tools and can create a text box and a text box of legend, but I can't type in it. My text box and a text caption box work fine with all the other programs I use on my system. But this implies to use Acrobat and its tools in their platform and I can not type in these two boxes in this situation. Their first suggestion was a problem in Acrobat. We have repaired and reinstalled several times without success. They said while Acrobat Reader has not been installed (and it wasn't). I deleted the history. Their review online system requires a specific to a particular location Java script - we have installed, removed, reinstalled, etc and it still does not work.

  I used this platform on another computer and it works fine. I got a new computer in February with a new CS'A, and the problem occurred on only the new system. And when I use Acrobat in their platform.

  Has anyone any suggestions, what I might try? They said they had a report of a person with the same problem, but they drive on your computer.

  I think I've just figured this out.  I see that I have two years late on this, but perhaps others will continue in this too. I had the same problem and found your question posted here.  The solution I found is this:

  1. you will do this if there is a padlock on the legend icon in the comments list

  2. right click the comment in the list of comments or the legend of comment in the document

  3. click on properties

  4 uncheck "locked".

  5. now, you can add text or delete the comment!

  I have yet to find why the comments are by default to locked, but I guess there is a setting to change somewhere.  This example gets things will however

  I then go through change all the attributes of text characters in the font and size, and everything what the actual dialog box will I place inside the work...

  for dialogue of different characters or boxes of different caption sometimes I'll use a different font or size... that can go through and highlighting the parts of the script that have different and changing character dialog box at the same time instead of each line/bubble one would be a great time saver...

  If this is not a function, it must be in the future.

  In the last weeks I met a problem that seems to be a bug.

  I used the functions of many times before without encountering this problem.

  The problem is: Acrobat seems to change my settings of bookmarks and links on its own.

  
  

  
  

  That's what I do:
  

  A Word document is converted to pdf using Acrobat / save as pdf.

  Then I open the document in Adobe Acrobat format and make some additional adjustments on how are treated bookmarks, and how pages are displayed.

  For this, I use the menu: file / properties... where I in initial view choose to display bookmarks menu and an entire page.

  Links: for each link, I have activelly chose page to link to and I have this than a whole page to be shown.
  

  But something strange seems to happen to my favorite (and links). Even if I manually change each single bookmark properties (by right-clicking on the bookmark and then change properties), the Acrobat seems to change my settings in "Execute JavaScript", after which pages in my document do not appear as whole pages; Instead, the view is expanded. Often Adobe (and the reader, I tested both) show the zoomed pages so that they fit the frame of the window open.

  What is the problem here? What I am doing wrong?

  I have a similar problem with links. Even though I actively chose a particular magnification of the linked page, the program changes the settings on its own. Rather than show a whole page, Acrobat (and subsequently Reader) are suitable for the page on the frame.

  What is the problem here? What can I do to ensure that my personal settings are retained?
