  Now how can I install the software on my Macbook? I tried to open the files, but it just opens Archive Utility and creates a second version of the file that I clicked on.

  In at top right, sign in to adobe.com with your Adobe ID

  Select the category of assistance you need and once completed, you will see the blue band that still says "need help, contact us.

  Your license allows you to have the software enabled on both machines at any time.  If you need to have on another you would need to disable one of the two machines before you activate the new installation.

I installed it in my iMac and Macbook, but then I separated from my iMac because I planned to install it in another machine (a windows desktop computer which is also mine). But then I typed the serial number to the design & web premium Adobe in windows and it said "the serial number you entered is invalid."

  No idea how to transfer the CS6 for this machine?

  A CS license is only good for a kind of platform...  PC against Mac.As far as I know you need to buy another license in order to be able to use the software on two different platforms.

  If you are not ready to move to the creative Cloud then do not move to El Capitan or Sierra.
