  I would like to know exactly which version of the software installed on your system. If you use Acrobat Reader (for viewing PDF free versoion) & trying to make changes with in the Document, and then you will receive this message because PDF files can be edited in Acrobat Pro. So, make sure that you open the file in the appropriate program.

  I am a newbie Abobe and try to understand the purpose of the tagged PDF files. I understand that to ensure accessibility that should contain a built-in PDF tags PDF, e.g. screen readers so can identify and describe the content. I have a few questions regarding access to the data contained in a PDF of company.

  For example, we generate a bill out of our SAP system that is generated using the SAP Adobe LiveCycle Designer. For some clients the invoice is sent electronically, e.g. via FTP or email. Some customers want to extract the data of the electronic invoice. Could the structure of tags PDF embedded in the form be used to extract the invoice data? Is it a potential use of the PDF tags? I also read on the embedded XML content in a PDF file. Is it different for the PDF embedded tags? I guess it is? And if it is different, using the built-in XML would be the preferred method for extracting the data from the form?

  Any advice would be much appreciated.

  You can create a form from scratch on Acrobat Pro DC or can download the PDF file and then use 'Prepare the form' to create fields to fill out.

  You can also add text when the form is created using Edit PDF under the tool menu.
