I can't boot my Windows disk

I can't start on my Windows drive at windows startup, please help me. Waiting for your replay.

Hello

  1. The CD/DVD play works very well when you start on the desktop?

If you are not able to find the opportunity to set CD/DVD boot priority in the BIOS then it could be question by connection of DVD player. Since this is the problem with the BIOS and hardware I suggest you to contact the Lenovo Support for assistance.

    anesvet,
I'm going to sound like I'm repeating myself tonight... (see previous 4 posts...)  but try this:

When you start start pressing F8 until you get the Windows startup options.  Then try "Last known good configuration" see if that helps.  If this does not work, try to F * then try to go to Safe Mode.  If those who do not help, I would start with your XP CD to recovery mode and run "chkdsk/r" then "sfc/scannow".  QQ learn manage!

The error message mentioned (reboot and select proper boot device) appear if the laptop can not find a boot device.
Go into the BIOS and check if the HARD drive is set as first boot device.

In addition, you should check if the HARD drive appears on the first page of the BIOS with all the details of the unit (size of the HARD drive, name).
I guess this question could appear due to a malfunction of the HARD drive.

  • Urgent need help: I run windows 10 on iMac. I can't boot into Windows 10 after update to El Capitan 10.11.5. Help, please!

    An urgent need to help!

I've been running Windows 10 on my iMac via Boot Camp. I just upgraded to El Capitan 10.11 to 10.11.5. I don't know if it was because of this upgrade that made me not be able to return to Windows. In the windows startup disk, my windows HD and OS X HD icons are all grayed out. So, I can't select which one to be my default startup Mode of the disc. Help, please!

  • I can't boot into windows or recovery.

OK, so that is the problem.  I'm in recovery mode by pressing f11 and me to the point where he says he was doing market back stuff. I've been through reformatting, but while he was 97% ready I got this blue screen "page_fault_in_nonpaged_area" error and windows have closed. as I tried with recovery again it fails again with a uscreen "bad_pool_caller". Now I never did recovery disks for my laptop because I've always used the recovery partition so I have the vista cd or anything like that.  However, I would like to make a cd of xp home edition.  So I started from that and thought I could just install the xp home edition.  Unforunetly after it loads up to install it says it can't find my hard drive and shows no partitions.  I am at a loss on what to do.  I searched everywhere for a solution to this, but I don't know what to do.  Everyone responds just telling me to reformat or enter in safe mode when I can not because they do not completely load upward and I get this error and my computer crashes.  If someone could help me I would be very grateful.

For questions about the recovery process, contact the manufacturer of your computer.

This isn't their recovery process, Microsoft.

  • R100 - compatible new boot linux/windows disks (no recovery cd)

    Hello

I know it seems impossible to start with external disks other than those provided by toshiba.

But when you read the information from toshiba, it seems possible that if you do not use the recovery CD (IE with linux or another window of toshiba).

I also noticed that toshiba sells for the r100 usb drives, but it is specified that the subsequent bios 1.5 or version must be...

In conclusion, is it also possible to determine if a pcmcia drive is compatible or not? (for example the sony cd51/a pgc)

    Thank you

    Hello guys

Usually it is possible to start PCMCIA card.

This question is not for the laptop manufacturer but for software producer.

If you have two partitions copy this image to the second partition (D) and check if it is not visible. I do the same with the Norton Ghost image creator.

  • Qosmio F60 - 14K - can't boot from SSD drive

    Hello

Im trying to install a new SSD, but can't, because I can't boot from SSD disk, "Insert a system startup disk" works great as a USB key, even installed Windows 7 top and tried to boot from it, but with a bit of luck.

I have not tried to switch between IDE/AHCI, but that, because I don't have this option in BIOS. I think I've tried everything I can test, all the tips/help would be much appreciated!

And so the part of the BIOS by joke to call bios all you can change the settings of the clock and the bootorder more or less!
    Anywhy for more options?

    Hey Buddy,

I'm a little confused about your ad m... You wrote that you have installed Windows 7 on it, but you can t boot?
You get an error message during installation or what exactly is going on?

Have you ever tried to restore the factory settings of the recovery on new SSD disk?

Hmm I put t know what BIOS options you want but I think Qosmio F60 BIOS has enough options.
Normally with the BIOS default settings everything works fine.

  • Dual boot on two disks dv9535nr

    Hello

I have recived a copy of Windows 7 Beta to assess and would like to set up to dual boot on my system to minimize the risk of the thing becomes unusable.  My primary HARD the OS drive is basically complete (with the program, no media data), but my HDD data are practicly empty.  What I want to do seems simple on paper, I want to install win 7 on the second HARD drive and just swap between the two discs deending on what operating system I want to use.

    Here's my problem:

The HP BIOS doesn't let me choose which drive start. I have only option 'boot from the disk of the laptop', there is no way to specify WHICH drive.  I guess that it always starts from the player in Bay 1.

I know I could put u a new partition on the first hard disk, but 1. It is full of programs that can not easily be moved without uninstalling and re-installign on the second disc (which would probably cause questions in itself). and 2. If win7 destroyed the boot sector or the player in general, I can always boot my vista disk.

I could also spend physicly readers, but honestly, it's a pain.

I don't understand why HP does not let me start from something else, including an inch or network drive, but not a drive that is installed on the laptop.

    any ideas?

It shouldn't matter because when you install Windows 7 correctly the bootloader will know the path to the operating system you want to start.

Take a read of the present on an Australian LifeHacker Blog.

It should work, just one) make sure you that HP recovery CD for you to protect against a screwup.

    (b) download a copy of EasyBCD change then you can correct the opitions of starting in the BCD file if necessary.

    (c) to backup your data/documents/photos/e-mail offline

  • Can I use the Windows Vista I had with my Toshiba laptop on virtual machine?

    Hey all

I have changed Microsoft for Macintosh, but installed on a virtual machine (oracle vm virtual machine) my Windows Vista I got with my Toshiba Satellite A350D Notebook previous. I installed Vista with the recovery disk. Now he asks me the Windows Vista product key. The sticker on the back of my laptop is more readable. I run the Belarc Advisor to get the product key in this way. But right now, he said: "it's the product key installed at the factory by the manufacturer rather than yours. You can change this to your product key here for Windows http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=45668"

My question: am I not allowed to use windows vista legally, I had with my computer toshiba laptop on other devices? I won't use the Thoshiba laptop. Do I have to delete the record from the Thoshiba laptop? Where can I get a new product key?

Maybe someone can help me here. Thank you in advance for taking your time to read this.

    Betty

Recovery disk or recovery image is designed for some cell phone only and is not a kind of universal image that can be used on other devices. It comes with the laptop.

You can use the Microsoft Windows disk with valid license on each device. Recovery image is not only BONES. This is the package that contains the drivers and tools specific to Toshiba and utilities.
As you also know recovery image when you install it on your laptop must be turned on not so the license code downstairs just proves you have purchased a valid license with your laptop.
    > Should I remove the record of the Toshiba laptop?
    Not why do this?
    > Where can I get a new product key?
You cannot get it because you need when you use the recovery image on your Satellite A300D. I think even you will hear of Toshiba.

  • Windows XP does not start. Can I boot Windows from a disk so that I can recover the data?

Windows XP does not start. Can I boot Windows from a disk so that I can recover the data? This should be a CD because it doesn't have a floppy disk on my laptop drive. It is maybe that my hard drive has begun to fail and therefore cannot locate XP startup files. I can not start using one of the other methods of starting for example. Safe mode. If I can recover the data, I can then reload Windows and check the surface of the disc etc etc. Thank you all for your comments. Steve

Lately, I'm leaning toward the Hiren's BootCD you can download here:

    http://www.hirensbootcd.NET/

On the left, click on download, scroll down, choose the most recent version

The download link is a little hard to see.  It is at the bottom of the page, above the drop for older versions and looks like this (click this component to download the ZIP file):

Direct HTTP mirror + Torrent, Torrent Magnet

Click the "Live HTTP Mirror" link to start the download and save the ZIP file on your desktop of somewhere that you can remember.

The ZIP file is large, so the download will take probably some time to complete.  Then unzip the download to extract theHirens.BootCD.ISO file that will be used to create your new bootable CD.

Create a bootable CD. ISO file is not the same as simply copying the. File ISO onto a blank CD.  You must use software that includes how to burn a. ISO to a CD to create a bootable CD.

File ZIP the Hiren is the file BurnToCD.cmd that you can double-click to launch it.  The BurnToCD.cmd will use the file BurnCDCC.exe to burn the. ISO file onto a blank CD using your existing CD burner.  You can also use your own burning software as long as your software is able to create a bootable CD. ISO file.  More modern burning programs can create a bootable CD. ISO image.  Create a CD from an ISO image bootable is not the same as just the file on a CD burning.

If you need a simple and CD burning, this is a free software popular software:

    http://www.ImgBurn.com/

Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:

    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61

It would be a good idea to test your new bootable CD on a computer running.

You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.
These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

When starting on the Hiren's CD, you will see a menu of options.  Choose Mini XP.

It will appear while Windows is loading and you will be presented with a desktop computer that has the look and feel of the interface of Windows Explorer, you are already accustomed to using.  You will feel at home.

Using the Mini XP, you can access the Internet, maneuver around your system, copy files, replace the files, run the scans for malware, etc.  There are dozens of free and useful tools included in the CD that can be used to repair your system, or copy files to another device such as a USB device or an external drive if drop in trying to repair your system.

If you want to see if you can fix your system, describe what is happening when you try to start and to answer these questions:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, MSE, Comodo, etc..

You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

  • Can I run dual boot Vista 32 and Windows 7 64? Can I use a upgrade disk to install the full version?

original title: I have a simple question...

I have Vista 32 bit.  I have two hard drives.  Vista 32 is on disk 0.  (C) I want to upgrade to Windows 7 64 bit.  I want to change the installation path on Windows 7 64 bit edition updated the software on my second drive, so I can run a system dual boot.  Windows 7 Setup will allow me to do?  I can use the version upgrade of the software for that, or do I have the full version?

    Hello

You can't do what you want to do

32-bit to 64-bit is NOT a upgrade path if you have always wanted to upgrade 32 bit vista

It must be done with a clean install with a final certificate

and you need a full license of windows 7 to install windows 7 on the 2nd hard drive

You can dual boot vista 32-bit and 64-bit windows 7, if the manufacturer of your computer provides windows 7 drivers
