I can't delete photos off my iPhone (unless I do it manually)

The photos and iPhoto (still have no idea who I'm supposed to be using) take in my last 200 photos when I plug it into my laptop or my iMac.

But what about other 2000 pictures on my phone that I have not need there? How the hell can I get them off?

In iTunes, under devices/photos it says only: "iCloud" is on.

Thank you

It depends on where the photos came from. If your pictures are on film, that is, pictures taken with your phone, you can simply go to the pictures > Camera Roll > change > then select rub your finger across multiple photos to select a lot. Then delete.

If your photos have been synchronized to your iPhone from your computer using iTunes, you will need to go back to iTunes and re - sync with no files selected.

If you have iCloud library enabled then check this:

    Hello!

It is at this time of the year when you wanted to take pictures of summer vacation right on your iphone, but you found out that you have less than 500 MB of memory space. Well, it's happened to me.

I imported my iPhone on my Macbook iPhoto pictures, and I would like to delete these photos on my iPhone. I would like to know if I could do it in iPhoto or iTunes.

In addition, it would be possible for me to re - upload photos from iPhoto to my iPhone?

    Kind regards

    TL

Assuming you are using iPhoto and not the new Photos.app, Yes.

You can bulk delete via Capture of Image (in the Applications folder)

Create a picture Album that you want on the phone and you can share them on the phone via iTunes.

Similar goods are available with Photos.app and photo library to iCloud, but work in different ways.

  • How can I remove photos from my iPhone that were already imported pictures?

    Hi all

The camera on my iPhone now has 2000 + photos on it which have already been imported. photos (not iPhoto). At least I am sure that I imported the. Photos knows that they have been imported, but I see no easy way to just delete the photos that have already been imported. What should do?

I ran a test, import of some of them and by checking the box "delete after importing", and it was successfully deleted photos off the phone. BUT each of the imports is now duplicated in my photo library. What a drag! I don't want to have to go manually by the bias of 2000 + photos, manually remove duplicates when Photos already know that they were already imported at first.

In iPhoto, you can plug in your phone, import your photos but not the remove immediately after the import, and the next time you connect your phone, iPhoto would say "XX pictures have already been imported. You want to remove them? "It's ideal for cautious people who wanted to verify that the photos had successfully transferred before deleting.

Any help? Is there something that I am missing in Photos?

    Thank you. -Josh

You can selectively remove from your phone with the Image Capture (in the Applications folder).

How to delete photos on my Iphone without deleting my icloud

    You can not.

iCloud is not to do what you ask. It is a synchronization service. It is designed for exactly what you see.

You could import from the phone to a PC. This would free of space on your phone. You can use iCloud for synchronize * only * between your PC and the cloud.

If you set the photos on your to OPTIMIZE, will decrease the amount of space on your phone.

  • Can't delete songs from the iPhone from iTunes 6

    iPhone iOS 6 9.3.2

    iTunes 12.4.1.6

    OSX 10.11.4 El Capitan

I have manually manage music on my iPhone with iTunes.  I used to be able to select an album in iTunes and then drag it to the iPhone to add it to the iPhone.  The only way I can get the albums on my iPhone is now, right-click and select Add to the device.  Also, I used to be able to DELETE the songs off iPhone from iTunes.  Now when I select and right-click on several songs of the devices > iPhone > music section of iTunes, the only option I get is to add to the Playist...  I can't delete songs from my iPhone from iTunes.  Any ideas.  There must be a better way than the manual removal of the iPhone.

When your iPhone is connected to iTunes, check the settings > music section to find something like this:

You can check "Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres" here instead of 'Library of music together' as I did.

On the iPhone summary page, you can also check a box that says something like "only sync checked items" - or words to that effect.

I can't download photos from my iphone to my PC. The PC recognize itunes and syncing with the iphone. However, the pc does not recognize the iphone as an external device (i.e. the camera).  Therefore, I don't see the iphone under the computer as a device options. Also, I checked the autoload settings and they are correct, but the PC does not always recognize nor does automatically load the Iphone. I spoke with the support technique apple and they said this isn't a problem with the iphone, but it is rather a problem with Microsoft. can you help me please?

    Hi Byron R.

Thank you for using Microsoft answers Forums!

    1. were you able to download photos from Iphone earlier?

2 recent changes on your computer?

    3. are you any error when uploading pictures?

    You can try this method.

If you click Start and in the AutoPlay to start search type and then should see AutoPlay fill under programs select auto play.

Once in Auto play scroll devices and see if you see your Iphone within devices click the menu drop down and set to import pictures using windows then click ok and then you plug the Iphone and see if it allows you to import.

Also if you want to ask you what measures you take whenever you plug your Iphone just select "ask me every time" based on the Auto play.

The Iphone will not transfer pictures to your computer if the device is locked and you are using an access code. If you want to transfer photos, simply unlock (Slide to unlock and enter the access code), your device to transfer photos.

Note: Connect Iphone to your computer in unlocked mode.

  • Deleting photos on an iPhone 6 after importing Photos

I used 6 (iOS 9.2.1) photos to import photos from my iPhone but can't seem to delete them from my phone because I'm running out of space. I can't find an option in Photos for me to do. I use iCloud library but tired of receiving messages telling me I am out of space and need to buy more. I was using the iPhone Optimize Storage option, so when I try to turn off iCloud, he tells me I'm losing photos. I guess that it space to store all of the photos uploaded to iCloud original is much more than the space I have left on my phone. So why would I back up my photos to a photo library. Yes, I could go through frame by frame making sure that they are all there, but there are more than 2500 and would prefer to delete automatically the picures copied after importation. Make sense?

Import Photos Panel has a check "Remove items after importing" below the toolbar. If you enable this, before importing items, they will be automatically deleted.

You don't see this check box, because you have activated on your iPhone photo library iCloud.  As long as you use iCloud photo library, the Mac cannot delete the photos, because they are stored in iCloud and only mirrored on your iPhone.

"Remove items after importation" is to risk anyway. I would not use this option. First, it is safer to check if the import was successful before deleting the photos from the iPhone.  Sometimes it happens that photos will be removed from the device, even if the import was not successful.

So why would I back up my photos to a photo library. Yes, I could go through frame by frame making sure that they are all there, but there are more than 2500 and would prefer to delete automatically the picures copied after importation. Make sense?

Since all the pictures are in the library of iCloud, download them by creating a new library of Photos on your Mac and enable it in your library to iCloud.  It will download all photos in iCloud.

You are you sure, that all the photos are safely on your Mac, disable iCloud photo library on your iPhone.  Then you can connect the iPhone to a USB port and use Image Capture to remove all the photos from the iPhone.

You can also download pictures from iCloud by using the web interface of your iCloud to www.icloud.com account.  Launch the Photos.app on this page and select the photos to download.

  • How do you delete photos from an iPhone but keep them on a mac

I want to delete some photos from my iPhone 6 but keep them on my MacBook - how can I do this?

    Hey Jill,.

This should be possible as long as you do not use icloud photo library.

With iCloud, photo library, your devices are giving you access to your library, which is stored directly in iCloud. Therefore, when you delete a photo of iCloud photo library on any device, it removes from everywhere.

When you turn off the iCloud photo library, each device is its own independent photo library. You must manually import pictures from your phone to your MacBook, then you could remove your phone at will.

If you wish to continue using iCloud photo library, but also want to save space on your phone, consider turning on Optimize iPhone storage in the section Photos to your phone settings iCloud!

  • How can I remove photos from my iphone

I tried to remove photos from my iPhone and I can't, could someone remove

If the photos are in the albums of film or Photostream, they can be deleted on the iPhone. Switch to the view of the album which shows all the small thumbnails, press Select, select photos to delete, and then press the trash can or the Word remove. This move the photos of the film for the recently deleted album where they will reside for 30 days to allow you to recover the photos if you wish. If you want to delete the photos immediately, remove them again from the recently deleted album.

If the photos you want to delete are synchronized from a computer using iTunes albums you can remove them by an another sync. Connect your iPhone to the computer that you synced, select your iPhone in iTunes, select the Photos tab, deselect the unwanted albums and click Sync. The deselected albums will be deleted from your iPhone, but they will remain on your computer.

  • Can I delete photos from my Mac WITHOUT removing them from shared albums?

I only use photo program to create shared to my AppleTV photo albums and display on my iPhone. I keep all my original photos in Lightroom database. I also add photos to my albums shared from two separate Macs connected to the same account iCloud. I'm about to re - format one of my Mac and wonder if I can simply delete all the pictures I imported into the Photos on one of my Macs locally without affecting what is stored in albums shared in the iCloud photo library?

    Thank you.

As long as you do not remove the shared Albums are under the shared section in the sidebar, that images can be removed from the library and stay in line in the shared album:
