  • Sync audio/video Windows Movie Maker problem

When you use Windows Movie Maker 5.1 to capture video from my Panasonic PV-GS39 DV camera, audio is 15 seconds ahead of the video.  Anyone know what is the cause or how to fix it?  No other programs are running at the time of the capture.

    Windows Movie Maker 5.1
    Windows XP Service Pack 3

It is difficult to say why Windows Movie Maker would be to have this problem, but my recommendation would be to eliminate it from the video capture process. There is an excellent free program called WinDV you can use to capture video on your computer, then you can change using Windows Movie Maker, once the capture is complete. Video capture questions can be exasperating. Along with other instructions of troubleshooting, I explain why you might want to use WinDV in a tutorial on video troubleshooting.

  • Why is there no source audio into Windows Movie Maker

When I decided to use windows movie maker again after 4 months latter. When I try to tell, he says "an unexpected error has occurred" and the Audio Input Source is missing. When I check to see if there were other Sources of entry there were not any and it was empty. The Audio device has shown. It also only allows me to post videos. It is said: check that the original source files used in your movie are still available, that the backup location is still available and that there is enough available disk space and then try again. I use my Microsoft Lifecam V2000 and my VIA (WAVE). The Audio Input Source that I use usually is the stereo mixer. I downloaded Audacity and they both work very well.

  • Torrent video plays fine in Windows Media Player, but only audio in Windows Movie Maker?

I downloaded a video torrent on my Windows Vista laptop. When I went to play in Windows Media Player, it works fine. However, when I try to play it on Windows Movie Maker, I can place only the file in the audio section / music, even if it is listed as a .avi file, when I import the file and drag it on the timeline. There is no red X or any sign of a problem with the actual file. When I go to preview, I get only a black screen, as expected when playing audio files. I checked super files supported for Windows Movie Maker, and .avi is supposed to be a supported video format.

I've downloaded xvid on my computer and it is before I even started with torrents. I know that this translates to the game in Windows Media Player.

I tried to download the same different torrents and I get the same problem each time a different torrent site, so I know that's not the real torrent.

I went to tools > Options and unchecked the box I had, which was the AVI decompressor, and the problem persists.

I don't want to convert the video file, unless it is absolutely necessary. If I need to download something, I will do, as long as you point me in the right direction.

I ask this question because I see only problems with the .avi Windows Media Player files, and I want to edit the file to make a music video.

    Any help is appreciated!

It turns out that the only way to solve my problem was to download Windows Movie Maker 2.6. Now, I can actually edit with ease and use the original .avi file without problem. I still don't know why I had so much trouble with the version that came with my laptop, but now it's the only solution that has actually produced results.

  • Video clip with file extension 3gpp converted to wmv but no audio in Windows Movie Maker

I have a video clip taken from a cell phone with file extension 3gpp.  I converted it to a wmv file using software downloaded using an XP operating system.

Thank you for your interest and your answer to my question.  I was actually able to do something with it that I managed to import a file to convert 3gpp in Windows Movie Maker.  Here's what I did as others who may have the same problem currently or in the future, try:

Initially, I converted a file video in a .wmv file 3gpp and tried to import the Windows Movie Maker.  The video is imported, but is not the audio.  I converted the same file video 3gpp in one file .avi and it imported into the Windows Movie Maker project that I did and it worked! The .avi video and audio imported and played without any problems.  Thanks again for your response.

  • Why can't I import songs into Windows Movie Maker?

Whenever I have import an mp3 file into Windows Movie Maker, I find myself with an astronomically long mp3. When I open the properties of the mp3 out of the program (on the desktop or in iTunes), I get that mp3 is normal size (approximately 3-5 minutes long) but when I open porperties in WMM, it turns out be more close to 3000 hours.

Try to convert MP3 files to WMA format

  • How can I save my project in Windows Movie Maker 2.6?

Hi I made a movie that is 26 minutes long, with photos, effects and music.  I need to burn it to a dvd.  However, I am only offered the opportunity to save on my computer.  When I so it saves only the part of it, I made several times and saved the part varies between 5 and 20 minutes of pictures, but with all the music.  There is another option to save to the camera, but it's not a useful for my application.  There is no option to publish or save on DVD, so I wanted to save it on my laptop and then burn from there.  I can't cut the length of the project.  I spent hours trying to fix this, solutions of Googling, but in vain.  Do I need more RAM on my laptop?  Please help, this is something that I have to return to normal as soon as possible.  Thank you :-)

Two things that may be worth a try...

  • I can't publish a file using Windows Movie Maker despite after every single step and instruction

I use Windows Movie Maker c. 5.1. (Build 2600) on a computer running Windows XP Professional 2002, SP 3. I try to publish a movie file which is a revised version of a WMV file. In other words, the original file is a file WMV is 534 MB.  I am editing the film by dividing and by deleting scenes, adding transitions and titles.  I am able to save the file (for a WMM file) but impossible to publish the movie.  I checked that (i) the files are in the correct location, (ii) the file does not exceed the limit of 4 GB, (iii) the destination does not exist (I tried everything from my desktop to video files).  I tried every possible resolution and the file type.

I would change the software of movie at this point if I had not invested so much energy and time behind this project.  Help, please!

    Hello not happy with WMM,

You get an error message when you try to publish?  If so, what is it?

One thing you might try is breaking your video into 3 or 4 smaller sections and see if they work / will be published separately.

    See you soon

  • Windows Movie Maker preview screen is black! (is not black when read by Windows Movie Player)

    Hello.

I used Windows Movie Maker 6.0 for about a month now to make videos and then upload them to YouTube.
I had no problems at all until a few days before, when Vista says it wants to install an update (Service Pack 2), so it installed and then came up on Windows Movie Maker and when I tried to make a video, the preview screen was black and you could only hear the sound (no video). The clips are a gesture of challenge of the .avi files, but when I put them in Windows Movie Maker, they turn into audio files for some reason any! :(
Please help I need solve this problem as soon as possible!

Open the Device Manager by following the steps in the first link I provided in the previous answer, and then expand the graphicsoption. Your graphics driver is listed under this category. If you double click the driver that is on the list, it will open the driver properties dialog box. You can go to the driver tab it and then click on the option to restore the drivers to roll your graphics driver back and see if this helps you.

You can also uninstall and reinstall the driver from there. To reinstall the driver, you will need to download it from the website of the manufacturer of the computer.

    It will be useful.

  • How long can I record audio on windows movie maker? __

I would like to use the audio in movie maker to record a conversation, but I don't know how long it will record

    Record audio with sound recorder,

(See help in sound recorder) If you want an alternative to the use of Movie Maker.

Sound Recorder allows you to record a sound and save it as an audio file on your computer. You can record sound from various audio devices, such as a microphone that is plugged into the sound card on your computer. The types of sources of audio input, you can record from depend on the audio devices you have and sources of input on your sound card.

  • Why can't I capture video with windows movie maker?

When I try to capture video using the option "capture from video device" a window appears and says 'the file C:\Documents and Settings\extra\My Documents\My Videos\untitled_0004.wmv is not indexed and cannot be imported.' every time. How can I stop this so I can capture videos?

It seems that the file is saved on your
hard drive in your videos folder. What happens if you open
Movie Maker and go to... File / import into Collections...
and find and select this video clip?

If you still receive the "not indexed" dialog box the. WMV
    file is possibly corrupted.

In Movie Maker, it may help to go to... Tools / Options /.
Compatibility tab and disable all filters. If it's
no help... try on the left by clicking on the button restore all default settings.

Sometimes one. WMV file can be repaired by opening
in a conversion program and convert to WMV...
Seem redundant, I know, but it will create a new version
of the file, this might work.

  • Can I transfer a file to Windows Movie Maker on a DVD?

I made a video on Movie Maker of Window and I want to put it on a DVD to show my upcoming Big birthday party. Is there a way I can do this, and if I can, how, and if I can't do what I can do to show! Help, please!

You posted in a forum of Win XP, so I can only guess that you're running XP...
If_Yes... the only version of Windows XP which adds a DVD video option for
Movie Maker is Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 and it was not
    meant to be extremely reliable.

Beyond that... you must save your Movie Maker projects in the. WMV or

create a video DVD. (save info pasted at the end of this message)
