  If you are not able to open the Photos App images directly in Photoshop then, this is the expected behavior as App Photos does not allow for any third-party application interact with it directly.

  You must export images from the Photos App and then open in Photoshop.

  If you have managed to delete the preferences file, uninstall, clean through the use of the Adobe Creative Cloud cleaning tool to solve installation problems, restart your computer and reinstall.

  If the restoration of the point system is not there next steps to try to fix this would be to try running SFC/scannow in command prompt. This KB http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310747 explains in detail.

  • Uninstall Adobe CC (Creative Cloud help |) Uninstall the creative Office Cloud app)
  • Reboot the computer.
  • Install the latest Adobe Creative cloud version from the link: CC help | Creative cloud desktop
