I can't reinstall Adobe Application Manager (AAM)

I have installed Adobe CS5 (and work) on my tour Pro Mac running Lion (10.7.5) with 3 terabytes of disk and 14 gigabytes of memory. However, in some way, Adobe Application Manager (AAM) has been removed - can - be my carefree, even if I do not remember how that could be.

Now I can't install new software, uninstall CS5 or even reinstall AAM. If I download AAM and try to install it, the installation program is unable to initialize (a close paraphrase of the message that appears in the context menu) and suggest you contact the manufacturer. I did it and unfortunately the telephone support (so far) is not able to resolve the problem, despite much time spent trying different things with me.

Anyone out there has any ideas on how I could proceed.

I should add that I "Repair permissions" (more than once) and even downloaded a new copy of Lion and reinstalled.  Nothing has changed.

Thank you in anticipation of your help.

I got a call back from Adobe this morning and we deleted a few files and we were then able to install the AAM. This allowed then Acrobat Pro XI be installed without any problem. Screenshot of the relevant entries in the trash for more information, but I do not know where the records were initially.

AAMUpdater had an empty folder that it contains ("1.0").  AAMUpdateInventory had a "1.0" in folder, which contained all a bunch of things - 70 folders of stuff Adobe on various aps, the extensions Manager, fonts...  The folder 'Application Manager' had four and seven cases, and the 'ApplicationManager' folder (note the lack of a space) had an empty folder of AAMRefs only.

Everything happened too fast for taking correct notes.

Which operating system you are using?

    Or

Mac: Adobe all force them to leave the activity monitor processes (for example Adobe application manager, sync Core, Desktop Services, broker CIB Adobe Adobe, Adobe Crash demon etc..)

Windows: Force quit Adobe all processes from the Task Manager (for example Adobe application manager, sync Core, Office Services, Adobe, broker IPC from Adobe, Adobe Crash demon etc..)

Send you it to the discussion of Revel. If I could find that I would not have asked your help. And if Revel was useful, Revel help files don't would not have directed me to you. So I can't go tro Revel help because I will be sent to you and I can't find the discussion of revel you sent my question, I'm in a catch-22 here. I don't know if it's intentional or not, but it is compatible with all my other research assistance, such as Photoshop and elements. My questions are never an answer help local pages with program itself can be found on the adobe site and after days looking for something similar to the problem, adobe managed to wear down me and I give up and get rid of the program.  Never once, I was able to only use items 11 due to installation and interfaqce problems wuth no response.  I rarely use Photoshop because despite what is said how easy it is to accomplish complex tasks, I found that there is nothing in Photoshop which cannot be done without all the fuss that allows to program and cheaper also. The only reason why I learned so much about what can do other programs is extra volume, I had delays and refusals of help from Adobe. If you have the time could you please tell me how to find discussions of revel or where ever is that my question has finished?

    Hello!

Application Adobe Manager just told me that there are updates available for Cs5.

I stopped the installation when you are supposed to do to get your password for the computer, then Adobe Application Manager chrashed.

I restarted the computer, but the update wouldn't automatically start again.

Is it possible to start Adobe application Manager manually? I want my updates, haha.

  • How can I close Adobe Application Manager so CC update?

I use Windows 10 and I opened the Task Manager and has completed the task, then stopped and restarted InDesign, but I always get the message in the first image below. Also is there some process that I need at the end? The second image below shows all Adobe processes are running (at least all those that begin with "Adobe").

    Thank you.

    Hi kyriosity.

  • Adobe Application Manager (AAM) behaves badly

    Two questions...

    (1) recently, trying to open the AAM opens application cloud creative instead, which does not appear in the list of my apps CS6, nor any means of updating them.

    (2) when I am able to access the AAM (e.g. through automatic updates), the software update seems to stop before the end - i.e. it hangs on a certain percentage.

    Help?

I found that I am able to manually access the AAM press 'updated... "in app CS6. So answer question 1 a little, question 2 currently not (although the problem happens only sometimes).

    Hi barbarakaye1,

    Welcome to the community!

Looks like it's corrupted. We may need to install Adobe Creative cloud, lets try the procedure below:

    • Download and install the Creative Suite from Adobe cleaner tool: http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
    • Extract and run.
    • Select "e" for English.
    • Press on 'Y' for Yes if requested.
    • Select Option 3 to creative cloud.
    • Then select Option 1 for Creative Cloud Installer.
    • Rename the OOBE, OOBE folder to:

    Mac: MAC HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe Win: C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Adobe\

    • Also, if there is a process running named 'AAM Update Notifier' or 'AAM recording notify ". Kill these processes and try to reinstall Adobe Application Manager and check.

  • Adobe Application Manager installed 20/05/2013 without Permission

Of course, there are other threads on Adobe Application Manager (AAM) and many unhappy customers.  Yet the saga continues?

My apologies if this question seems redundant to you, but reading through the existing threads I find conflicting messages, the lack of information as to why the MAA is necessary and some apparent problems after using the cleaning tool Creative Suite to remove "Installer of creative cloud".  I'm not looking forward to my PC having problems.  So I'd be thankful some answers straight forward please, so I am well informed and can make the right decision for me!

My o/s; Win 7 64 bit Home Premium

    Adobe products installed:

Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard (installed Sept 2008)

Photoshop Elements (installed in January 2013) 11

First items 11 (installed in January 2013)

    Adobe Flash Player 11

That's all I need and I didn't ask for all applications of "creative cloud." nor do I intend to do.  So why after all this time Adobe installed on my PC AAM - may 2013 (I see messages about this back in 2012)? I received updates very well.  Has been notified of new updates this week, normally accept (nothing noting something extra) and low and behold there is a new "Adobe Application Manager" program, which took forever to launch after the fact only to eventually introduce a login screen.  God knows what he was doing in the background... and it better NOT have been installing the evaluation version!

I spoke with a representative of Adobe C/S.  He told me that this is how Adobe has chosen to distribute the updates now and in the future.  Despite my distress and the desire to uninstall it, he took the trouble to introduce me to the cleaning tool until I mentioned to see it here in the forums.  Then he pretty much abandoned my concerns with nothing else to do for me.  Who does Adobe think of their customers?

    My Questions:

    (1) is AAM required to receive updates that I used to receive for the applications that I installed?

    (2) not "Creative Suite Cleaner tool" completely uninstall "Adobe Application Manager" by choosing "Creative Cloud Installer"?

    (3) Will Adobe sneak this MAO on my PC again during future updates after installation?

    (4) my Adobe apps is regarded as 'CC' applications uninstall before removing the "Creative Cloud Installer?

lack of information as to why the MAA is necessary

This is the program that adobe uses to give users their updates/upgrades of our days. It is therefore very important to have this working properly.

You need the Application Manager, you can't get around it (as I know). And no, new trial software does NOT automatically get installed. Adobe has not yet addressed this bass. (But they can if they want... parts just reading the EULA)

11.4 the software may automatically download and install updates from Adobe. These updates are designed to improve and develop the Services and may take the form of bug fixes, enhanced functions, new software modules and completely new versions. As part of your use of the Services, you agree to receive such updates (and permit Adobe to deliver to you, with or without your consent).

    Your questions:

    (1) Yes, very necessary. Do NOT uninstall it.

    (2) no idea. But I recommend to use it.

    (3) Yes, because this is the app that will update all your programs when there are updates available.

    (4) I'm not quite sure what you mean. But if you have not done anything yet, you should be fine as is. Don't worry the MAO.

Sorry for the delay of HaynesBM.  Our forums are very busy today with the recent announcement of creative cloud.

Can you please check that you do not have available installers always listed in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder?

Also to reinstall Adobe Application Manager it will be downloaded and ask to install when you click on the download button for applications which can be found at https://creative.adobe.com/.  Alterantely you can download the Mac OS of Adobe Application Manager version from the link available in the #3 message.
