  I ran widows update several times in the 3 weeks I had this thing... because some patches are required to be missing or something...
  My 8 year running original OEM XP Dell sweeps the new Toshiba and Vista...
  Suggestions? I just need the screen shot. I prefer not to go by hack Adobe or something just to fill the void left by Vista... and hurtling to Fry is not possible at this time...

  Thank you for your message.  Click on the "Start Orb" and in the search box, type "Capture", give it a few seconds and the tool must complete programmatic.  And then double-click the tool.

  Hi the Snipping Tool works well on desktop applications in Windows 8, but not on the store modern user interface applications.

  You don't say which edition of Vista you are using.

  Vista Home Basic Edition does not have the "snipping tool".

  If you have a different edition of Vista, read the information on how to find it:

  First time for me here!
  I have a weird problem where I can not save a Notepad file or tool captures on my PC (when I click on save or save as in a product nothing happens at all! don't even not a backup window opens).
  I also have another strange issue in which my backspace does not work in the box 'search' in the start menu. I can type in there, but cannot run.

  If your sure the Save as dialog box does not popup the window you're working with,

  The Enter key only works in the start menu if a suggestion is available that matches your request.

  If you open your Windows Explorer program, go to the C:\windows\System32 folder, you see the file Snippingtool.exe?

  If so, you should be able to right click and do a sortcut to your desktop or add a shortcut to the Quick Launch bar

  Otherwise, you can try the following steps and check.

  Step 1:

  Try refreshing the Snipping Tool installation. This tool is part of the Tablet PC optional components in Windows Vista.

  a. open Control Panel, click Classic view in the task pane.

  b. double-click programs and features.

  c. click on the 'activate Windows features and turn off' in the task pane.

  This window may take a few minutes to display.

  When the options appear in the list, scroll to the "Tablet PC Optional Components" and remove the check mark for this element.

  d. click OK, leave everything and restart the computer.

  Once the computer restarts, go back to control panel and repeat the same procedure.

  This time the check box adds the "Tablet PC Optional Components".

  This will install these components in the system with a new copy of all the files.

  Step 2:

  You also, try to run a SFC scan to check all corrupted files.
