I can't see my pictures on Windows 7!

I just installed windows 7 on my computer and ALL my files are still on the computer, you can see all the thumbnails. But when I click on the image to open it I get this message "Photo Viewer Windows can not open this photo because you don't have the appropriate permissions to access the location of the file" YET Im the admin and everything? Please help me!

Hello

I searched the net and tried all the 'ownership' answer/resolutions that I could find. However none of them worked.
The problem in the original directory lay turned out that I had put in the photo.
I had downloaded my memory card in one of my other accounts 'user' and it has locked up there putting "share" with "person". Even if the administrator and 'owner' of the Moose photos, I couldn't access it on my own "user as an administrator account.
The way I have personally solved the question was to connect to the other user account.
Click on the hard drive
Click users
Click on my account, for example c:\users\carley\my pictures\folder
Right click 'folder '.
Scroll down to "Share with" click "specific people."
Delete all except your own names that should be titled 'owner '.
Click 'Share' and 'done '.
Once this is done click on "Record" once more
Scroll down to "Share with" BUT this time click on "Nobody".
Check also in this folder properties if the 'read only' box has been checked if yes "uncheck".
This user journal and journal of return as the "Director".
Access to the same folder check the settings you have made are the same for the other account, you have to then wait a few minutes and the lock on the photos should disappear and all your photos should appear.
It worked for me I hope it works for you<3>

  • I can't see my pictures using Windows 7 Premium. I get a message that I don't have permission to open it.

Real user frustrated here.  I had no problem opening and viewing my photos until recently.  I don't know if this has nothing to do with the activation of my smart TV to access my pc and see these photos, but the timing seems too coincidental.  Now, when I try to view my pictures in Explorer mode and using the image viewer, I get the message, "Windows Photo Viewer cannot open this picture because you don't have the appropriate permissions to access the location of the file."

I've included some screenshots to show you what that my security on the file properties tab:

It seems that the only way I can get to see these photos is to go through each and every one of them and click on the Advanced tab and change the permissions by removing those listed as the Group weird UID and then add my pc and allow full control, I can then see the photo, but again, I must do this for EACH picture I have at least a 1000.  Suggestions as to the current operating system and if there is a quick way around this?  Note that I did this one at each front and now there is also a handful of photos I can not display.  It's as if they were changed to the original user.  What is going on???  Help!

Thank you Ramesh sponsor!  I tried, but as the process began, he grew up an "access denied" that it travelled all the files he was trying to change permissions for.  It seems that I can do this for each individual file, but not for the record as a whole.  Still puzzled.

    Dean,

Take ownership of this folder and try again then assign permissions. See:
  • When you try to play .mp4 files in WMP, I hear the sound but the picture is distorted and I can't see the photo in Windows Media Player.

    * Original title: Windows Media PLayer

I have Windows Media Player version 12 installed but when you try to play .mp4 files in WMP, I hear the sound but the picture is distorted and I can't see the picture.  Please see image attached.

Even if I see that I can change the version of the file in a different format, I have the same problem with videos on websites that I can not of course change the format before playing these.

I managed to fix the problem for about 20 minutes by flattening my computer re - install the operating system and this resolved until all updates have been through, and then it disappeared again.  I tried many codecs packs and this still does not help.

My system is running Windows 7 and Media Player version is 12.0.7601.18840, which tells me that Media Player is the most recent version.

    Please can someone help?

Open uninstall a program in windows and in the left click on the feature to turn on or off windows. Clear the check box of the window Media Player, and then click ok. This will uninstall the drive, and then restart.

After restarting the same steps, now, check the box for the same and perform a restart and if all goes well it should solve the problem.

Note: Make sure that Windows is up-to-date.

  • Using large icons, I can't see a picture. The picture flashes for a second then appears the default icon (a lake and mountain)

    original title: Windows Explorer

Windows Explorer.  Using large icons, I can't see a picture.   The picture flashes for a second then appears the default icon (a lake and mountain). I can only view a photo in the photo library.  This just started happening.  What has gone wrong?

    Miniatures,

Open your my pictures location, click on organize in the upper left corner, click folder and search options, click the view tab and uncheck the top option, always display icons and never thumbnails, select apply and save.

Return to your location of my pictures, change the display of the page on the top of the right side next to the question mark symbol, there is another symbol with a menu drop-down symbol, click it and select the medium or large icons options specified.

When I'm in split mode, I can't see my pictures.  I think it is due to the fact that the server my images are now only support connections made on TLS version 1.2.  Is there a setting in DreamWeaver, I can change to take account of my images be seen?  Then I see mode live view but not in the edit view.  I use DreamWeaver CS5

It's normal when you are in mode split with Code and design, while the external use referenced images. There is no setting to fix it.

As a work around, I normally keep a copy local images in a file of site when working on an html email, then just before the code for the e-mail service hovers over, I'll do a quick search & replace to add the absolute paths for images server copies.

Live View mode should show images correctly, but editing is not possible in DWCS6 although later versions now have an editor in Live mode.

  • Pavilion Telechareger s5120y - I can't see the pictures on a drive in CDFS format. How to display these pictures

HP Pavilion Slimline model s5120y, product KY818AA-APA, Windows Vista 64-bit operating system. I have pictures on a disc using CDFS file system. I can't see one of these files. I tried Windows Photo Gallery (no file or video) and others. I know that the photos are here because others have seen them. What should I do to see the pictures?

Are you able to copy the contents of the disc in your computer and then look at the pictures? With the inserted disc, click Start > computer > double click on the CD/DVD drive. You should see (hopefully) a list of the files on the disk. Select all of them, right click and select 'copy '. Then create a new folder on the desktop, open it, right click in the folder and select "Paste". If the files copy successfully then you should be able to view them on your computer.

If this does not work for you, maybe you could have someone make a new record for you. Using a computer which is able to view the pictures (but not the computer that made the record initially), copy the files using the method described above, and then burn a new disc picture using a different file system.
