  Did you check help-> updates to see if they are available? You probably don't have the latest version of Camera Raw that was compatible with Photoshop elements 12 installed.

  With this version of Photoshop, the latest version of Camera Raw, you can use is 6.7.   Oh, I missed the fact that you got the problem already with the installed program. This clearly highlights the corrupted files or settings in the registry. Try a chkdsk before your next attempt. And follow the advice that you couldn't find it via Google.

  Usually, such a thing cannot be troubleshooted to here. You should try with a clean system or ask for help in person. It is also possible that there is a problem of material, for example with the RAM.
