  I had the same problem 2 weeks while in the Mexico.  I contacted the support TWC and the person to whom I spoke said he had to unlock something.  When he did, all my mail came in Outlook in the spam folder.  It was OK because I got my mail.

  I moved to a different House and now have the same problem again.  I've contacted support TWC and not had much luck. The second level support person and I spent more than an hour, the call of the Mexico using Vontage.  He has not found anything by the previous call that guided him by setting this time.  He said that he would open a ticket and call me in the next 24 to 48 hours.

  I am running Windows 8.1 and I can't get my LifeCam software to open. I can't activate it, I can't use it for Skype.

  I downloaded the firmware and software, and even my system shows as a device in "Devices".

  It is not an app for that I can find.

  When I got the laptop Toshiba A135 new. Now when I try to start the password is correct, have tried to go to the bios to boot from the CD same thing password incorrect.  What can I do?  Had installed sp1 Vissta started running slowly.  Memory check sum error, then it stopped and now I can't seem to start.  Incorrect password.   Asked the Geek Squad they said they couldn't fix it.

  Check and see if what follows will help recover your Favorites folder in Explorer.

  This can happen if the Favorites Shell folder is out of adjustment.

  1. click on start.

  2. click on run.

  3. type regedit in run window.

  4. navigate to the following location:

  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders.

  5. Once you find favorites to the title of the first key, right click and select Edit.

  6. the Edit String dialog box opens. The data value field must contain the correct location of your Favorites folder. If it is not the case, enter the right location to restore your missing Internet Explorer Favorites folder

  The value of the Favorites path: %USERPROFILE%\Favorites

  I have this weird problem when I close my laptop L750D that I can't get back into windows after opening it again. The first seconds after the opening of the laptop, the screen is black but then suddenly shows the login for a short-lived seconds, but then immideately screen fades to gray, then to the dark as his tent to save energy. I can press any button or anything either, but it won't let me in windows.

  So I have to stop the laptop with the power button so that it restarts again. But of course it wil mention that I didn't close properly the last time and pushes me to a safe boot option. Its a new laptop and I cannot find any problems simular anywhere online. Also I gues is a simple parameter or a combination of keys I know of.

• Why do I get three windows when I open Firefox instead of the unique homepage, I had put in place?

  I used to get a single tab, my Google homepage when I launched Firefox. Then one day I downloaded Google Chrome because I had trouble running an application. After that, when I launch Firefox, I get three tabs, a Gmail, a Home Page of Google and a browser that reads chrome://browser/content/newtab/newTab.xul - also, I get spammed like crazy and I was not before. I have my active spam blocker. I also downloaded a few flip something because I fell for the pop-up ad that said it would speed up my download speed. I have since uninstalled Google Chrome and I thought the flip thing, but I still get three launch windows and too many spam.

  Strange, since Google shouldn't do that. Maybe it was an installer bundled masquerading as official?

  To start your cleaning efforts, please check your home page settings. Do you get the 3 tabs when you press command + n to start a new window? If so, the additional URLS can be added to your home page in the Preferences dialog box. These articles describe where to find that. Notes that it can be difficult to see all the details of this area due to the limited space available, so often it is easier to delete everything and paste the desired URL.

  Then please check your extensions, as they can override your settings. I suggest disable all non-essential or unrecognized extensions on page modules. Either:

  • Command + shift + a
  • Tools menu > Modules

  In the left column, click Extensions. Then, when in doubt, turn off. (Or so obviously bad, delete).

  Typically, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

  See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 of many antivirus programs are not compatible with Windows Mail in Vista.  Try may try to remove your antivirus program, and then close Windows Mail and compact and repair the database (see www.oehelp.com/WMUTil/).  Then add your account to mail back again and make sure that the credentials are correct.  If they are not correct, change them via Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties and not when you get prompted for the password again, as all changes made during this prompt stick not (bug).

• Why can´t I get properties windows to stay open?

  I'm able to keep a few open windows in Vista long enough to obtain information or make changes.  For example when I try to open my desktop display properties to change my picture it pops up for a split second, then disappears.  It does same when I try to go to the updates of Windows, so I have no idea what I might be missing in terms of new updates.  The update for this problem is perhaps as far I know.  Help!

  But I actually ended up answering my own question last night when I installed SP2 for Vista.  He fixed everything!  The only problem was trying to figure out if I was running a 32-bit version or 64 bit Vista with that I went on my site of manufacturers and realized that they sell only laptop computers with 32-bit.  So everything worked out in the end.  Just thought you would like to know for future clients.  :-)
