I CONTINUE TO SAY THERE'S A VIRUS TROJAN ON MY MOTHERBOARD AND MY COMPUTER WILL SOON BE CRASHING? HOW CAN I KNOW WHETHER TO TRUST THE CALLER?

I get phone calls from various technical assistance offices, claiming that my PC has a virus on it and that it sends error messages!  How can we believe that these callers are genuine and not a hoax?  Because once you give someone remote access to your PC, they can identify and hack your accounts any time etc?

I've got some help technique and support available through my internet provider and antivirus software on the computer, so did someone else bombarded by calls?

Thank you.

Helen Harvey.

Fake phone calls to technical support

Calls unrequested telephone of this nature are almost always a common scam. Do not let them give any info, do not give access to your PC, not give them all the money and do not go to all the websites that they suggest. One moment.

Please see:

Microsoft issues never not solicited for phone calls of support or security.

These types of callers can use completely fictitious names or bogusly claim to be of real companies other than Microsoft as well.
