Technical support Gateway wants to load more that a new license cost complete and me have to wait a month to get them. Seeing as how I've already paid for the license, it's completely unfair. Can I get a disk of Microsoft (or anyone), if I have my license key? I understand that I must pay a nominal price for the physical disks.

    Hello

    If it never came with disk recovery, gateway must provide you with another way to reinstall the operating system.

    If they didn't they break their agreement with Microsoft.

    Here is the information on the bridge to access the recovery Partition on your hard disk to reinstall Vista:

    "Full factory recovery"

    There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

    If the above does not work, you may need to try this instead:

    You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

    Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

    And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

  • Need to reinstall Windows 7 due to the hard failure but needing a replacement disk drive

    I have a DELL N5010(no longer under warranty) and had to replace the hard drive to the 2nd time, whenever an attempt to install 64 bit Windows 7 - error code disc is displayed. My computer thinks that the disc is damaged.  Am I eligible for a replacement disk? If so, from whom MS or DELL? If this is not an upgrade disk will be enough?

    You need to contact Dell for a replacement recovery disc. A upgrade disc won't work, as you would a new OEM installation with OEM key.

    Can I reformat my hard drive without the Windows Vista installation CD? And if so, how do I do it?

    You need a way to reinstall Vista.

    Formatting will be done during the process of resettlement.

    Vista recovery media obtain and/or use the Partition Recovery Vista on your computer to the factory settings .

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

    They will tell you how to do this.

    Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, Acer, recovery disk/s etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.
    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
  • Installation of Qosmio G35 - V660 Vista - drivers needed!
    I bought the full Windows Vista Edition upgrade. I installed the new update of the BIOS (now at version 1.7), I ran the CreateVistaCDMaker file on the Toshiba site and I downloaded and burned to CD updated for the Toshiba RAID drivers.
    However, whenever I get to the part of the installation were it asks me to select the drivers to install on... He told me that this is impossible because I need the appropriate drive. I point to the Toshiba Raid driver and after 5-10 minutes of waiting, Vista tells me that the drive is that I slowed down of Toshiba (Toshiba raid disk) is not compatible.
    Anyone else having the same problems of Vista upgrade on their laptop Toshiba Qosmio G35-660?
    Hello
    I assume that you have downloaded the driver RIAD on the Toshiba driver site us.
    I checked this site and surprise. There is only a RAID for WinXP driver.
    It seems that the RAID for XP driver does not work with the Vista installation.
    You will find on the site of Toshiba Canada also a few disks of Vista and also a RAID for Vista driver. Of course, you won't find you laptop model G35 because it was designed specifically for the American market, but try using a driver for G30.
    Hello
    Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
    Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
    This will refresh the default driver stack.
    Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
    slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.
