Pavillion dv7 4280us & Push2tv

I have a Pavilion DV7 4280us with an adapter WiFi Broadcom 43224AG 802.11 a/b/g/draft n. Despite having been assured by technical support that netgear Push2tv would work with this laptop, apparently my hardware can't do not. After about 4 hours with tech support, they said, it could be done.  It was after the tech crashed computer, demanding that I do a system restore and boot without danger. So much for outsourcing technical support. Apparently to have push2tv you need wireless display to intel. Intel wireless display requires an Intel wireless adapter. The laptop seems to have all the other requirements. Is there a supported wifi adapter intel for this model which will allow me to install wireless display to intel and use the Push2TV I bought after saying it would work?

Great, what's the downside of the sectoral approach, and what other changes would be needed? Also, when I look the part # it is listed as a device of 300 Mbps. did I miss something, I'm not very when it comes to computers.

Thank you

Randy

The Intel card is compatible, so no other changes are needed. I checked the specifications of the card and it says up to 150mbps. Go to Intel Web sites and take a look at the specs...

  • DV7-4280us - Bay of disk HARD 2nd vacuum has no visible connection to a 2nd HARD drive.

My laptop Pavilion DV7 and previous DV8 had two bays for HARD drives, one of them wired to a hard drive, but not containing is not a hard disk at the time of purchase.  I expect the same thing when I ordered this Pavilion DV7-4280us, which is, I think, made in China, but I have not the same.  This one came without visible connectors for the hard drive, I had already bought to install into the empty Bay.  My Technical Support call made me advice to buy a disc kit hard (with caddy & connections) from HP, as if the receive connectors were available in the drive Bay HARD vacuum.  I didn't not agree because (and the next two paragraphs I added so that the well-intentioned forum members continue to give me the standard answer for laptops which actually have the usual connectors & waiting in the drive Bay HARD 2nd vacuum.  I appreciate the two forum members who have offered help so far, but there is no need to waste more based on my failure to clarify the problem):

There is NO METAL NAKED INTO THE BAY VOID that COULD CONNECT a HARD disk.
UNLESS A NEW CONNECTOR GOES TO THE MOTHERBOARD HARD DRIVE, IT IS USELESS FOR THIS COMPUTER.

Each HARD drive connector I've seen only connects the HARD drive to a connector in the HARD drive Bay.

The connector of the latter reaches the motherboard, and that the connector does not exist in this 2nd computer HARD disc Bay.

Even if I could get a cable to connect a HARD drive to an unused connection & waiting on the M-Board, I can't M-Board.  M-Board is inside a barrier which could be called the bottom of the laptop - external surface of the portable computer.  (Battery and bays for HARD drives are outside the confines of the current computer, the value in their own hollow spaces in the bottom panel, with secondary coverage on the hollow spaces, i.e. the bays for HARD drives and storage media).  I looked for a way really open the casing and expose the M-Council connection for 2nd HARD drive (IF it exists); but I didn't know how to do it.  It is clear to me that this is not intended to be a facility run by the user. But I would if HP (or maybe even a 3rd party who made it) provided some good instructions.

I'd like to think that HP did not make this change to the line DV7 laptops to double HARD drive, and that the Chinese manufacturer made the change without approval or even knowledge of the management of HP.  I want to believe that because he was, at best, a really stupid thing for HP to the customers who pay for the best HP can provide.

So my questions are the following:

    1. The motherboard in this computer still has the ability to manage a 2nd hard drive?
    2. If 'NO', then HP would be willing to take over this very disappointing computer in Exchange to a DV7 which is equipped with HARD drive connectors available in the 2nd, empty, Bay?
    3. If 'YES', then
    4. HP or someone else would be willing to provide connectors, and instructions for me,
    5. OR install the missing connection to the drive for me, Bay
    6. While, in both cases 4 or 5, I can install a HARD drive in the Bay, empty 2nd drive reasonably, I expected when I ordered this computer?

All my apologies and thanks to KaLin0908, who responded so quickly and helped me realize that my original description was not clear enough.  I hope that my changes to clarify the problem have not ruined the tone of my call.  I'm aiming for "clear and grateful."  If this revision reads as Loud or Yelling or abrasive or anything else bad, I'd appreciate any suggestions to improve it.

    I have the same computer.

At first seems like you say but

If you look carefully the second Bay of hd, you will see 4 small holes

Those who are for the hard drive caddy, you can buy that and it's expensive

You should also buy a hd cable, but be careful, there must be about 5 inches long

The cable for 1 hard disk does not work

One end goes on the hard drive and the other going to the MB. The connection is planned

    for the memory modules

The kit costs about $ 45. If bought at hp and about 35 if purchased by another company

This will give you an idea of where/how the screws connect to the caddy

    4. connect the hd to the caddy /ssd

    4. connect the housing inside the laptop

I've recently updated my computer Windows 7 to windows 8.  I did a complete reset, so I lost all my other software in the process.  Now, I am looking for some drivers and return programs that were not automatically by windows 8.  Specifically, Miss me the Beats Audio, my fingerprint reader software which is integrated with this model and my dedicated graphics card AMD Radeon 6770 (I can probably find it on the AMDS website however).  However, the HPs driver windows Web page 8 is not listed as an available for my model (hp pavillion dv7 6143 cl) operating system and I was wondering if windows 7 drivers would work in this case or if I'm out of luck.

  • Can I attach multiple external monitors to my Pavillion dv7 laptop?

I have a monitor connected via the HDMI interface, and I would like to have another one is attached as well. Can I use the VGA port (either a dish - I don't kjnow not what it's called) and have the instructors work together?

    Thank you!

    -Jerry

(Windows Vista, Pavillion dv7 laptop computer)

    Hello, Jerry:

Theoretically, you should be able to connect monitors as you have video ports.

As I don't have your model, I can only speculate.

I know that's true for desktop (where the embedded video is handicapped by an add on card).

In my view, that the other HDMI-looking port is a display port.

  • HP Pavillion DV7-6052ea: Wireless problem card

Hi, I'm moving my Wifi card of a 802.11ac card for 5 Ghz speed

    I have a Pavillion DV7-6052ea with i7-2630qm.

Laptop came with Broadcom 4313gn 801.11bgn card and looking at the manual here it says that the Intel Centrino Advanced - N 6230 is compatible with my laptop but when I install it the laptop does not start, it's just a black screen with a text box (not flashing) solid.

It give me any option to go into the BIOS and the fan is working, if I press the power button / stop, it stops immediately.

I also have a Centrino Advanced - N 6035 from another laptop, isn't on the list supported in the manual, when I install I get a message saying that the card is not supported.

Any ideas why the laptop does not start with the 6230?

Because it is not on the white list in the BIOS. The guide indicates a N-6230, but if track down you the part number in the manual it takes to another card. There is no option double band of 5 GHz laptop, that I do not say. Let alone a 802.11ac option.

  • How will I know if I can use wireless headphones on my HP Pavillion DV7 running on Windows 7?

I have a HP Pavillion DV7 Windows 7 & would like to buy headphones wireless instead of the smaller earbuds that came with it.  How do I know if I can use it as most of the sites such as eBay requires your PC to be Bluetooth compatible so that their specific work wireless headphones.  How will I know if my phone is bluetooth compatible?  I searched what little paperwork came with it, but don't know where else to find this information & don't want to buy headphones which doesn't work on my laptop & end up having to return them.  I am not very savvy PC so I'm sure that somewhere in the software there are some information about it, but I don't know how or where to find it on my laptop.  I could really use the skills of a person to solve this dilemma bit I'll have too simple as it may seem to most of you, the experts there, but for a "newbie" like me, it's all Greek to me!

Please, can someone help me understand what to do or where to find this information.  Is somewhere in the control panel?  I'm just at a loss about where to find this kind of information on my own laptop & feel like a true dummie here, people!  I just want to be able to listen to stereo to my Netflix movies & other programs I have on my laptop with a nice set of headphones but I need to be sure everything I buy is compatible with my laptop.

Thanks to someone out there who can help me with what may seem like a trivial problem, but for me it's a mystery!  I need help badly!

    Sam51

    Hello Sam51

According to the data sheet for your computer it has not built in the Bluetooth adapter. Fortunately, there is another option, there are devices called Bluetooth adapters that fit in one of your USB ports. Newegg sells them at a reasonable pace, but you can also buy them from most electronic stores may be in your area.

Please answer as soon as possible.

  • the upgrade of my hard drive on my pavilion dv7 4280us.with SSD

Upgrade to ssd drive using my recovery disc to install windows 7 it to load any disc 5 restarts to the start SCREEN of the HP LOGO screen and it doesn't recognize the OCZ VERTEX 4 DRIVE I install.

My PC IS Pavilion dv7 4280us.

    Hello:

At less than your SSD is the same size or larger than the mechanical drive, that you have replaced, the recovery disks will more than likely working.

An alternative to the installation of W7 (only if you can read the full product key 25 character), is to do this:

If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.

Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.

Or use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. Link and instructions below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB compilation method.

    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/HTML/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.

The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.

Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.

  • Pavillion DV7: Can I PUT

Anyone know if my laptop can run win 8 or 10 instead of VISTA.

What about Windows 7? Superior to Vista way. Your video chip Radeon HD3450 is on the list of specifically not supported by Windows 10 chips. Windows 8 would probably work OK, but you would be better with 7 instead of 8. I know for sure 7 works fine as I have Windows 7 running on essentially the same model without any problem.

  • Slowdowns sound whenever Pavillion dv7 connects to the internet

Hello, I have a Pabilion HP dv7 Notebook running Win 7 64 bit and I have been meeting his probelems since reciving my laptop.

Noise runs great, but as soon as the laptop connects to the internet or I try to surf the web, sounds will encounter catastrophic slowdowns. Slowdowns do not stop until what is loading has completed. Even if a background program tries to download a update with no direct action on my part, it will cause a slowdown.

This happens without sounds, music or voice chat.

My computer uses Beats Audio. I tried shurtting overall in WMP which would cause it to connect to the internet, but in the end, it does not.

Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a way to stop this? Im not sure if the problem is the driver, or audio Beats or WMP.

    Hello

Try to use Recovery Manager to reinstall the IDT HD Audio driver (this will also reinstall the Beats Audio interface) - how to use the Recovery Manager to reinstall the drivers and software is detailed in the document at the link below.

    Recovery Manager - Windows 7

After reinstalling, restart the computer and see if it has improved the problem.

  • Pavillion dv7 recovery not work

I got my recovery disks (both disks one and two and the driver and application disks) to retrieve my dv7.  I tried several times to have the work of recovery.  All files seem to copy on the hard drive ok and I inserted the disc Driver and Application when it prompts for the additional disk.  It fills all copies of files, then go to restore the files on the hard drive and this is the problem starts.  While he made the first fine reboot and begins the process of restoration, after a minute, he is saying the recovery process has failed.  The error I get is no indicator of operating system is defined on the device and he wants to get me into the eeprom to establish it.  Anyone know what is really going on here?  I had already installed Linux on the system, and that's what I'm trying to get rid of.

    Hello

Recovery discs HP to read a "tattoo" on the chip of the bios in order to validate, that they are used on the correct machine, but also the other parameters and it would look like this is where the error occurs.

One way around this problem is to create your own installation disc Windows 7 of the "Detail" that will not be subject to this restriction.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 full on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create a Windows 7 installation disc yourself using another PC-just download the Disk Image correct ( this must be the same version that originally came with your laptop that is listed under Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.  The source of the Windows Image is - Digital River.

    Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit SP1.

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.
