Hello all-

I'm looking for a replacement disk for my Adobe Indesign CS3. Does anyone know how to go about buying a replacement disc when I can provide the serial number? This version is from 2007.

Thank you!

You need to contact Dell for a replacement recovery disc. A upgrade disc won't work, as you would a new OEM installation with OEM key.

  • Need of replacement of CD/DVD for Qosmio G25

    Hello everyone

I have a Qosmio G25-AV513. This is very similar to the G20. It is out of warranty. The Dvd/rw drive is a carpet * a 845 s. The trouble started just after a year of purchase. After a complete system restore and update the reader has a very unpredictable reliability with optical media. The brands it has previously burned without problems now are not recognized or fail with the error "power calibration".

I went through the administrative service, various burning software settings, revising flash's 102D. Various resources on the net show that the other laptop brands that use this model reader also suffer these problems. I'm therefore looking to confirm a suitable replacement disk. I have taken note that the master/slave jumpers may be hard together.

If you are looking for a replacement, that I fell on the Panasonic UJ - 85J. Can anyone confirm this or another drive as a replacement right? Although I would like to keep away from the mat * a readers.
Pointers would be appreciated, it's not fun drag an external drive.

    Tony

    Hello

    > He previously serious with no problems are currently not recognized or fail with the error "power calibration".

The power calibration error because the lens of the drive cannot calibrate in the correct position and that's why the drive can't handle the different CD or DVD.
As you assume already that the drive needs to be replaced

All compatible readers should be mentioned in the manual of the user who is always pre-installed on Toshiba laptops
    Take a look here.

You can also try to contact the ASP in your country. You can order each taken part supported and compatible with the service partner
In my opinion it of a safe way to buy a really compatible player

    for the readers of plateau...

You can use any 2.5 ", height 9.5 mm SATA drive. I got one for hitachi travelstars (now owned by western digital), which were originally ibm. others have all also good luck with (and loyalty towards) other brands. Choose your ability, the speed, the size of the cache, etc. of many online merchants have a good selection.

    for SSDS.

same features as physical size above. you will need to do research in reliability, chip controller oddities, etc., but they get a lot more reliable. they need it another type of disaster recovery plan, however, as failure means no data is salvageable I heard. with top readers, depending on the type of failure, some recovery is generally possible without resorting to expensive professional services.

for both types of readers, you should be able to use disks of 7 mm of height also long as you install the drive in the case of existing drive and use rubber track. This maintains alignment connector with the drive Bay.

    HTH.

  • I need to replace the HD on a p7-1206 with a SSD

I need to replace the hard drive 2 TB system in a p7-1206 Pavilion with a 120 GB SSD. What is the best procedure to transfer the Win 7 OS to much smaller SSD? I created the set of recovery disks. After the start of recovery disks to install the OS on the SSD an error message said that capacity SSD was below the disk original and interrupted the installation process. Do I need a procedure which will reproduce all 4 partitions on the SSD drive in running or some partitions can be ignored?

    Thanks for your help.

If this is not the case, what drive do you recommend.

It is an excellent hard drive at a very good price. It works perfectly on your laptop.

You could also exchange the disc autour and serve the old second disk drive, but that leaves you without a secondary drive and you could store its data somewhere so you reformatted the secondary drive.

  • Pavilion p100dx: need to HARD disk for my pavilion p100dx configuration

    Hello team,

Recently my hard drive of the laptop broke and now I need to replace my hard drive P100DX Pavilion.

To do this, I want to know the configuration of HARD disk as

    1. 2.5 or 3.5
    2. What is SATA or SATA-no?
    3. SATA is compatible for it?
    4. What is the size of the HARD drive that needs to be? -height, length and width.
    5. Seagate HARD drive would be compatible.
    6. pointers for the HARD drive to buy.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

    It's a laptop HP Pavilion 15-p100dx ?

    http://support.HP.com/au-en/document/c04463224

    If Yes, then

    1. it uses standard 2.5 "HDD.

    2. it is a SATA HDD,

3 SATA III (or 3) and SATA II (or 2) is compatible.

    4. all standard HDD laptops would use the same width and length, thickness (hright) can be varry slightly, but your laptop supports 7 mm or 9.5 mm. Better use 9.5 mm because you don't need a frame fill to increase his height.

    5. Yes, HP doesn't produce HARD drives for laptops, it uses Seagate, Toshiba and a few other brands.

    6. you can buy in any computer store BestBuy or Amazon, Newegg...

    Kind regards.

  • Need a replacement hard drive

I have urgent need to replace the SAMSUNG HM500JI ATA disk in my Studio 1555 laptop.

The diagnosis of 'My Dell' tells me that a hard disk failure is imminent.

The problem is that I have not been able to find a like-for-like replacement.

Can anyone recommend a reliable alternative to the HM500JI that will work with my 1555?

    Thank you.

    Thanks for the advice Osprey4.

    I went for a Toshiba MQ01ABD050.

Change the disks in place was simple: I followed the video of PartsPeople (?) on YouTube.

Recover the disk image was simple using Macrium Reflect.

The whole process takes less than an hour and I was good to go.

    Thank you

  • Need a vista disk

I got a tour of the bridge from bestbuy a few years back and in the middle of the night as my broken heatseek fan and my motherboard and CPU was fried.  The computer is no longer in warranty and they did not parts for her more (if a reminder and all) there is no way to repair.  So I built my own computer and saved my hard drive and tried to start the vista system and it wouldn't work.  Then I tried using the recovery disk and I got an error, then the blue screen of death...

So since I do not use the same motherboard by the company I need a new disk of windows vista but nobody sells because of windows 7 and I don't want windows 7...  How am I suppost to get a new copy of windows vista? I don't like what version is that it is not Enterprise edition.

If Vista is preinstalled on your Gateway computer, it is classified as an OEM license and is not transferable.

The license of Vista OEM is related to the original computer it is installed on and dies with the computer.
You cannot transfer it to another computer/laptop

If a license of Vista at retail, you can transfer it to another computer/laptop.
But it can only be installed on one computer at a time.

A single license is a single Installation.

If you have purchased a Vista separate license for retail TRADE, borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

  • I need to replace my hard drive in my Samsung laptop, I have windows 7

I need to replace my hard drive in my Samsung laptop, I have windows 7. I want to reinstall it on the new hard drive running on linux but on install windows 7 on a virtual hard drive, how can I transfer the activation code

    In other words, you can't.

Assuming that your edition of Windows 7 is the one that supports the transfer of a virtual machine (i.e. the upscale home and more)...

You will need to do a clean install of the virtual machine, using the retail media and the key of the COA sticker.

You may need to activate by phone.

Note that Samsung have historically refused to provide any form of media except through a factory install. This means that it is almost impossible to install the original media for anything except the original disk, using the recovery partition.

My motherboard is dead and I need to replace it. Unfortunately, this will be a completely different map (brand and model).

My old system drive is IDE but the MB will not accept imput without an IDE interface card.

I have the interface card, but don't think it will work to re - install through this forum

I have a (relatively) new SATA I don't mind that I can install the operating system (windows 7 pro) now, but here the reformatting is trapped. How can I transfer all installed programs and settings from the old system to the new system disk drive after that I re - install windows

Cannot create a new image or anything of that nature that the system is dead.

I have backups, but not too recent

You will need to reinstall your programs and drivers for other devices, you cannot be transferred.

You can recover your data by installing the hard disk in a 3.5 external USB box and copy your files. Connect it to your computer then take possession of the files in your account folder in the directory of the user on the old disk.

Take ownership of files and folders:
